As an offshoot of the Baby Modelling thread here is the new and improved thread for all questions you may have regarding agencies, the industry or just to relate general experiences. The last thread is hereby laid to rest - it was 5 YEARS OLD! Jeez!

If you want to DEBATE or CRITICISE go to the "Child Modelling - Debate" thread.

Hi all,wow its been busy today,so many postings.
Izzy hi ,yes both my girls were accepted,i was told by an agent that agencies like to have all the kids from the family, think i got a bit obsessed at one point and sent their pics to every agency i'd ever heard of.They are 8&10yrs old now.Still cant decide what to do about moving them.
On the subject of selective agencies i would say Elizabeth Smith is the most, she accepted my youngest when she was a baby, but i found her so scary during the interview i never joint.Although saying that when i applied recently we got a big fat no.The other agency that said no was BK, so i dont think they do take everyone plus my mates DS is with them and he has been offered work.It does seem they cater for the older ones though.
Good luck to you all with Urban Angel interview,Alyssia is really nice and you do end up with a lovely picture from the shoot.

totallyfloaty35 · 24/01/2006 19:38

Any mums with kids already at Urban A,do you have your password or any of your pics posted to you yet?

Thanks izzy, not the best of pics to look at seeing as its impossible to get rid of the copyright emblazoned all over them!!! His hair is a bit of bouffant bless - he had to have his 4th! haircut the other day!

tigeryuan · 24/01/2006 20:08

alliep30 · 25/01/2006 09:07

Morning all. Got the bits from Alphabet thru. Izzy, do they cover any travel costs for auditions??? I agree with ignoring the hijackers. They think we live thru our kids and earn from our kids.. they like to play debating politians thru theirs!!!

sh11 · 25/01/2006 09:31

hi all - totally agree to ignore the hijackers, or then... look at what threads they normally post on and hijack theirs and throw in useless, rude comments about their postings.

tinkerbellchelle · 25/01/2006 09:32

My friend has a beautiful baby boy and I am trying to give her good agencies a few people have mentioned alphabet kidz how do you apply to them?

Looking forward to the urban angels assesment thing... just wondering if anyone has been already and how did it go?

ceylonlou · 25/01/2006 10:05

Hi

I've been watching this thread for sometime and need som help deciding which agency to go for. I have applied to Elizabeth Smith, Kids London, Norrie Carr, Alphabet Kidz, and Bizzykidz, who have all said they would like to represent him. we r also goin to the the urban angels shoot in feb. I'm not sure what to do tho any advice would be great. my ds is 1 in 2 weeks. x

alliep30 · 25/01/2006 10:35

Izzy, did u see my note about travel costs for auditions with Alpha? Have u had many ?

totallyfloaty35 · 25/01/2006 10:52

Marymay,no i not had password or photos through post yet, although it does say on contract we would get them in December.Iassume its due to her wedding, that tends to to take over.I will wait 'til end of Jan before i ask for them though, dont wanna seem pushy

2ManyPimms · 25/01/2006 10:53

Cyan - DS is 6. He has been turned down by KL and MOT. Haven't approached UA. Currently with BK.

He is going thru a "shy" phase at the moment so I wonder how he would come across to the people at NC. Clinging to my skirts wouldn't go down well, would it? Thanks for the info!!!! I'll have to open the link to have a look-see at your little one!

Ceylon - Having only been accepted with one agency, I can't really comment other than to say go with whomever you feel most comfortable with. All of the agencies you listed have been lauded so you really can't go wrong!

tigeryuan · 25/01/2006 10:57

ceylonlou - i'll go with kids london as the costs is none or v.minimal

sonya291275 · 25/01/2006 10:59

Is anyone with tuesdayschild as my son has a testshoot with them on saturday. Any info on them would be great cheers sonya

totallyfloaty35 · 25/01/2006 10:59

Ceylonlou,Kids London cheapest to join as no charge apart from approx £28 and that gets taken out of first job, also they got v.gd rep in the business.Urban Angels charge £40 for 1yr contract this includes photoshoot and you get copy of pic to keep.
Elizabeth Smith also v.gd rep but really scary staff.hope that helps, most of agencies you mentioned have been written about extensivly on here at some point.Good luck

ceylonlou · 25/01/2006 11:00

Is anyone on here with Kids London? I was thinking of giving them a ring and having a chat before I make a decision. What do you all think? I'm keen on them as I think they don;t take many children on. But then some of the others are very reputable too. so confusing

2ManyPimms · 25/01/2006 11:01

OMG Cyan! What GREAT eyes!!!!

mythumbelinas · 25/01/2006 11:30

ceylonlou, my kids are with KL. dd2 was free, but will pay about £28 out of her first job. dd1 went for the model book shoot, which cost £170, but paid half and other half deducted from jobs.
TBH, before i found KL, had acceptance from MOT and went for the interview, but found out a friend was with them (when i spoke to her she didn't want me to join) so i declined MOT.
It was another mum who was happy to tell me about KL. KL have been really friendly and i was so chuffed Sue called me with a job for dd2 the first day she joined.

mythumbelinas · 25/01/2006 11:32

cyan, your ds is soo cute such rosey cheeks and those eyes!! .. ahhh
yackertyyack, looks like no luck for my dd's this time round.
