Since we have lost our way back to the thread having it posted somehwere other then chat it may hang around longer. So this time our breadcrumbs lead back to Other Subjects, sounds fascinating doesn't it?!

Anyway, NWG, KAQ, TW, and others, all welcome, to loiter and banter, I hope my link works cause they seldom have in the past.

LOL!!! Ivy there are actually several! We are all trying to kill this thread!!! IE you have to be the last one to post, it gets very competative at times and sometimes the thread gets lost, the thread has been dropped from a great height and there was even something about a bear I think! Join in ! :) you are most welcome!

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 24/03/2011 21:33

KickArseQueen · 31/03/2011 02:41

This is a very stubborn thread! Wink

seashore · 31/03/2011 13:59

Hi everybody, don't know if this happened anyone else a few days back but I was unable to post, I had a a nice big message all ready but there was no Post Message thing, very annoying (there should be a face for annoying).

Anyway, glad I'm back Smile

KAQ, if I had your gang I'd be busy with the Dettol too! Remote controls are a bit yuck, landline phones even worse, although I must confess I only give the phone a wipe once or twice a year. Since last time DD had a bad night with an ear problem which she has never had before, it was rough, she was really in pain and upset but I've been tipped off about ear drops since, I haven't had to use them though as it has cleared up on it's own. Hoping the warmer days to come will help us all get back on a more healthy track.

Welcome Ivy, I remember the bear, there was also a tombstone, a dusty shop, KAQ in her birthday suit and lots more ...

Eee gads!!! I'd forgotten I was in the buff! I think I'd been away for a few days too and was stuck in the nuddy until I got back to reclad myself! So who's going to pick up the thread and think of somewhere gruesome to put it? ;)

Glad you are able to post again seashore and your dd is ok!

No, cake is too plain for them !

NetworkGuy · 04/04/2011 10:57

I could dump it down my loo... has had about 12 rolls of loo paper down it in recent days (been there every 90-120 minutes myself, so missing a lot of sleep since 23/03)

Off to have a (brief) nap if I can.

seashore · 04/04/2011 13:15

Sorry to hear that NWG, sounds like you have a spring stomach flu just like the kids at my dd's playschool! Hope you get better soon, I've got a horrible cough myself, I'm really worn down with it.

OP posts:
KickArseQueen · 04/04/2011 23:12

Pops in to chemist and buys NWG a box of dioralyte some bananas and some extra soft loo roll!!! Hope you are feeling better soon NWG!!!!

NetworkGuy · 05/04/2011 01:00

Not sure what dioralyte is, KAQ, but thanks, I have a tub of Sudocrem which helps a bit.

Did have a bit of a nap until two guys with chainsaws started on the hedge over the road (mine is not double-glazed)...

seashore - its not stomach so much as a bladder infection... probably enough info!

My sister took me to Anglesey for a change of scene (just for the night), and she walked her dogs on the beach (blowing a gale Thursday am) and whereas she and her DH would normally walk for 2 hours it was maybe 15 minutes before I had had enough... had a bit of toast and marmalade and nodded off for a bit, then after noon she decided to take me to A+E, where the consultant cleared me of kidney problems and prescribed antibiotics.

We got some shopping and sister dropped me off (to eager cat, ready to eat my fingers, but had to put up with tuna) and after some hours the a-b treatment plus a few litres of cream soda and I started to feel better but still the frequency is breaking up sleep significantly, and need to be a short dash from smallest room for peace of mind.

One of my great neighbours took me to local shops so I had a lovely chicken and sweetcorn pasta bake and have been having fish pie, macaroni and cottage pie. Today I 'risked' corned beef hash (13% beans!) but think I will leave it a while before I try sweet and sour chicken...

Have run out of cup a soup and soft drinks, so might try a walk over to shops. I know i is usually 15 min walk each way so fingers crossed weather is good and I get a bit more sleep tonight than Sunday night. Zzzzzz........

KickArseQueen · 05/04/2011 01:05

OH! NWG!! Really hope you are feeling better soon! Dioralyte is no good for UTI'S but Cranberry juice is!, If you can get the ocean spray one at the shop its very good!! mix with hot water to make it taste a bit better and drink lots of water too! Hope you get some sleep!

NetworkGuy · 05/04/2011 13:35

Yuk Cranberry juice (OK, know it has positive effect). I will look with sympathy on anyone picking up a carton of that when next I am shopping!

I did sleep from about 0300 to 0600 and snoozed to 0800 and 1000 got up at 1130 and trying to find the energy to drag myself over to the shops and back.

Think I will wait until I have had something for brunch.

seashore · 05/04/2011 14:08

That sounds really rough NWG, glad you have your sister and great neighbour there looking after you Smile try and give the cranberry juice a go, it's great with what you have, otherwise just drink plenty of water, lots and lots of it. Hope you get better soon, let us know how you're getting on.

Sister dropped me off and took her dogs home Thursday night - else my cat would have freaked out! But big sis certainly gets things done (deputy head then head for lots of years, nothing gets in her way!)

Still trying to rev enthusiasm up for the walk!

KickArseQueen · 05/04/2011 16:41

Cranberry juice is actually quite nice with hot water 1/3rd of a cup to 2/3rds hot water - trust me Wink

Really hope you are feeling better soon!

NetworkGuy · 06/04/2011 02:43

Decided on 4 swigs of Cranberry followed by 1 of Apple juice to freshen mouth.

Ocean Spray in packs of 4 and could not face that quantity to carry back from shops along with frozen meals from Iceland and a nice 99p trifle :)

seashore · 06/04/2011 19:58

Cranberry juice is nice! I like it anyway.

hope you're back on your feet soon NWG

NetworkGuy · 08/04/2011 02:25

I'm getting there, thanks, seashore. Had a litre of tomato juice earlier, and have just had a chicken and sweetcorn pasta bake, followed by Apple Strudel with custard .... yummmmmmmy :)

NetworkGuy · 10/04/2011 11:55

Have posted on a few threads recently, sometimes admittedly a bit later than when they were most active, but had been wondering how strong my thread-killing ability was at the moment... seemed fairly strong to me.

Anyway, I will look forward to further posts on this thread - I will have to have another look at the OP because from what I recall (I was tired) it didn't make complete sense to me.

However, the general 'jist' of making one's mind up at an older age is something I certainly applaud, and feel youngsters are far too often pressured into belief / support of one particular faith (and in some cases there then becomes little/no choice to "opt out" or convert to another, without being crushed by family condemnation... (sorry, might offend someone, this being Sunday and all!!!). Off to have some breakfast.

seashore · 10/04/2011 13:08

A full litre of tomato juice!!! Wow, couldn't do that!

Had a quick look, will have a read later but the OP seemed to me too narrow-minded, or her logic seemed a bit absent or something. Anyway, I agree with you NWG, I don't like religion being determined in the outset, we currently have DD christened (at two and a half yrs, due to pressure from my family) yet to decided about DS, he's going for 2 this summer, we are atheists ourselves (brought up Catholic) amongst other things I don't like all the guilt that goes with that particular religion, now we wonder because DD was Christened would DS feel neglected if we don't do the same for him? The Church is expected to soon be absent from schools over here which would take the pressure off, because there is the first communions and the whole fit in with everybody else etc. It's complicated.

But the OP on that thread to me seemed to imply that atheism is about believing nothing which is ridiculous, she should look up The Humanist Association, she could learn a lot! With our dc we intend to answer questions and talk about these things as we go along and in the end let them make their own minds up.
