Tea Room the Nineteenth

All in need of a restful break and a chat are more than welcome to the nineteenth Tea Room.

We find ourselves in the South of France, where the warm sunshine is just the thing for those who are missing the summer. The tea room has its aga and its distressed chintz sofa...and its potted plants. The usual fictional tea room inhabitants are here, as ever: Mellors, the gardener/handyperson with the handy ways with massage; the collection of tea room animals including the horses, camel, bison, guineapigs and sundry others; the Bishops and other faith leaders who joined us a while back and potter in for the occasional cuppa. It may not make sense, but that's not important. What matters is the lovely people here and the chance to just relax.

Speaking of Guiding, small, what did your Brownies make for their fair?

Catitainahatita · 04/12/2010 20:57

Bad day Scout?

Scout19075 · 04/12/2010 21:00

Oh, between my unit Guider changing the BP Presentation plans (they are nothing like what the girls wanted!) and my Seniors now telling me they can't make the award presentation and/or their Promise Ceremony --- ARGH!

Scout19075 · 04/12/2010 21:03

I should mention these dates were put in their diaries MONTHS ago. With constant reminders.

Scout19075 · 04/12/2010 21:06

Our room in France is almost full -- where are we going next?

asmallbunchofflowers · 04/12/2010 21:11

Scout - Search me! I frequently ask myself why I do it. The feeling you've done something worthwhile/putting up with endless bl@@dy hassle ratio often seems upside-down to me.

Where next? How about a Greek island? A whitewashed house with blue shutters, under the shade of a gnarled old pine tree. We could grow our own olives.

roslily · 04/12/2010 21:13

ooh yes like the idea of a greek island!

Catitainahatita · 04/12/2010 21:13

Hmm dunno. I am thoroughly lacking in imagination, me. Judging by how cold you lot are, I suggest decamping to the Carribean...

Catitainahatita · 04/12/2010 21:14

Or a Greek island, obviously, says Catita trying hard to stop xposting with Small.

Scout19075 · 04/12/2010 21:14

Did I tell you I told my UG that I'd have to step back and not be so involved next term? Oh that convo did not go well....

Are Greek Islands warm this time of year?

asmallbunchofflowers · 04/12/2010 21:20

I think our Greek island would always be warm enough for Mellors to work with his shirt off. We might even be able to go swimming.

roslily · 04/12/2010 21:21

Our greek island will be warm!

Scout19075 · 04/12/2010 21:23

I am a human popsicle.

asmallbunchofflowers · 04/12/2010 21:28

A touching scene from Small Villas: SmallGirl just ran down to the kitchen to tell SmallBloke that "mummy is looking at a picture of Daniel Craig [who she knows from The Golden Compass] in his swimming trunks, but you can't see much of them because it's mainly his chest".

Catitainahatita · 04/12/2010 21:30

Much as I would like Scout's to be the last comment on this French thread (if a popiscle is indeed an ice-lolly, as the image is wonderful)... who's going to start the next one??? I nominate Small, seeing as she is the one with the idea.

Scout19075 · 04/12/2010 21:32

Yes, popsicle is the American for ice lolly. Tis technically a brand but one of those words that means all (brands) of ice pops.

asmallbunchofflowers · 04/12/2010 21:34

Ok, then. I always try to dodge it, but I guess it's my turn.

Watch this space.
