Tea Room the Nineteenth

All in need of a restful break and a chat are more than welcome to the nineteenth Tea Room.

We find ourselves in the South of France, where the warm sunshine is just the thing for those who are missing the summer. The tea room has its aga and its distressed chintz sofa...and its potted plants. The usual fictional tea room inhabitants are here, as ever: Mellors, the gardener/handyperson with the handy ways with massage; the collection of tea room animals including the horses, camel, bison, guineapigs and sundry others; the Bishops and other faith leaders who joined us a while back and potter in for the occasional cuppa. It may not make sense, but that's not important. What matters is the lovely people here and the chance to just relax.

How much alcohol, Mary?

My SiL is preggers with number six. They are always late and chaotic.

My grandparents had sixteen (all singles); a friend in high school was number three of ten and another friend in high school was number sixteen of sixteen.

Donki, may be the rock salt thief have an icy driveway!

Scout19075 · 03/12/2010 21:43

I meant that to mean may the rock salt not do the job and the driveway still freeze.

Stealing rock salt? Words for once fail me.
I'd try arguing that ParcelForce should pay for a second batch, on the grounds that they gave the first batch away to a crook.

MaryBS · 03/12/2010 21:55

I've had two glasses... oh you mean the mincemeat! Well, you don't want it too runny, thats for sure. But you want to at least taste the alcohol. If you make your own mincemeat, maybe soak the fruit in brandy or sherry?

Donki · 03/12/2010 21:56

I'm sure that eventually we will either get some more - or get our money back.

BUT I need it for the drive NOW - and for my Mum, who has real difficulty getting out of her flat when it is icy.

Donki · 03/12/2010 21:57

I think I had better go to bed.
I am not good company tonight.Blush

Night all

Donki · 03/12/2010 22:07

Thankyou for listening - and the mulled wine, mince pies and sympathy.

I've left the carrots on the side if anyone wants one.

asmallbunchofflowers · 03/12/2010 22:16

Good night, Donki.

Eeek, Scout. That's a long time to wait for dinner. Would you like Mellors to make you a toasted sandwich by the fire?

Scout19075 · 03/12/2010 22:42

Hello all, Sorry to see you all suffering the cold and nasty bugs.

roslily · 04/12/2010 20:37

I've just eaten far too much date and walnut cake. My diet has gone out the window, and I was doing so well.

Went to see my mum today with LittleMan. Was fun, despite the constant comments about how hot/cold he was, was he hungry, how to parent etc etc. ah well!

Scout19075 · 04/12/2010 20:42

Warming drink, anyone?

Hello Catita!

'Tis the Christmas season, roslily, dieting can start on the 27th. Grin

asmallbunchofflowers · 04/12/2010 20:42

We've had a busy day but now I am freeeezing.

Is there room under that duvet? Shuffle up.

Scout19075 · 04/12/2010 20:54

Someone tell me again why I'm a Guide leader and a Senior Section leader/mentor?!

Catitainahatita · 04/12/2010 20:56

Plenty of room here for all Small. I'm just about to start toasting some marshmallows on this nice open log fire Mellors has laid for us. Also there is some yummy crusty bread and fresh butter for those who'd like toast done on the fire....
