Just a quick drop in to say hi & update.

I'm doing okay, post BC surgery & radiotherapy. I'm on a hormone inhibitor for 5 years and have struggled with fatigue over this summer but finally getting on top of it I think. Had my 1 year follow up mammogram this morning.

Just got a new puppy a couple of weeks ago, so she is taking all my time atm.

erm . lots of things going on as per usual - crafting , quite a lot of gardening . We have had a new fence put up along our front drive this week ( what a star - the fence man said he would come on Friday , and he did ! ) . Then the builder we have been waiting for said he may come this week . Just a smallish job , but I need to move every pot along the side wall so he can get to the right place , and all the pictures off my wall , as he needs to come inside to tidy up what will be a biggish hole in the wall ( we are having a gas fire removed , plus all the flues etc up beyond the roof tiles outside, and the hole blocking up )
My lovely sis in law is coming to stay for a week this Tuesday too , so have cleaned the spare bedroom from top to bottom .
Every one around for tea tomorrow , and still some last minute sewing so I can post off on Monday !
I even put the winter duvet on this week - the nights have turned chilly here

Crikey I am tired just reading that @bookbook . Everything at once! That sounds like a lot of work and mess! Glad its all going well but blimey what a lot to do.
Its damm cold here too, sitting with pj's, fleecy top, dressing gown and heat pad off and on.

Blimey, you’ve been busy @bookbook! How brilliant to get a fence man who actually turns up when he says he will! Hope the builder turns up too and you get that job sorted asap. You’ve got such a lot to fit in before your sis in law arrives on Tuesday. Hope you get your sewing finished and have a lovely day today with everyone. Definitely Winter duvet weather now l changed all ours this week too . I don't know how you do it all you are amazing 🤩

Thanks for the kind words re: dd, she is so far so good touch wood enjoying it all. Just holding out for reading week when we will see her - and then again Christmas and Easter unless we go her way, but don't want to cramp her style

Morning everyone 🤗, those heat pads are marvellous for back pain @Thebookofcarolagain, l use one here or a hot water bottle if any of us have pain in our tummy or back . Hope you had a good night's sleep 👍🤞🙏.
We are popping out to get a bit of food shopping and then going to see my cousin , it's her birthday today so will pop and take her some flowers and a card later , Grand Prix highlights on today and DH and Dds want to watch football of course 😂🙄 they are obsessed here lol .

Morning all.
Ds2 on early shift today so of course i woke early too my brain defaulted to "make sure he doesn't sleep in" mode.
A least he finishes at a reasonable time, well that's the plan...
He came home last night with strawberries and scones. They had an event on and stuff left over they wouldn't use so were told to take it home. He is possibly getting cake today😋 He's getting cream on way home for the strawbs and scones, they only had clotted cream at work, not a fan.
Blooming cold and cloudy first thing but wind has dropped, still cloudy though. Trying to force myself outside....but its soooo cold. Maybe later.😄
When I went to bed last night I thought the bed was warmer than usual...i had knocked the electric blanket switch on low while hoovering😁 Oh well it was nicer than a cold bed and I slept well thanks @DirtyGertiefromno30 although more really nonsense dreams. Oh you are a martyr to sports! Put your foot down, send them to the pub and put Love Actually on🤣🤣
Ha ha @FridayNighFeeling love you not cramping dds style. ((But I bet you want to see her more really, making sure she is eating well, sleeping etc etc, its just 'mum' stuff. I am terrible if ds2 is out late after work and he didnt tell me he was going out...i dont bother him obviously but every instinct is screaming "where is he, is he lying in the road? Was he mugged (which is a very rare occurance here anyway) ? Nonsense i know, I am just a worrywort😁 He is very good to me and usually texts me to let me know he is going out but some times he forgets. My dad was terrible for worrying and being overly protective and no way am I going down that route😁 ))

It's mum nature @Thebookofcarolagain She's done some batch cooking so I know she has decent meals in the freezer! I worry more when she's coming back here after a night out and less when she's not so that helps

Ha ha the less you know the less you worry @FridayNighFeeling yep. I worry less when ds goes off to Edinburgh with mates than I do when he is just down the street! 🤣

I'm guessing that DD has gone to uni FridayNighFeeling, although in my head she is far to young for that!

Phew! Have emptied the 1/2 bag of compost and 1/2 bag of topsoil into the dip i made. (Need more its only 3/4 filled but i cant carry any more just now and i think i will have to put more gravel at one end as it might be too shallow) Planted the foxgloves watered them and raked the gravel and got a small pile i can use elsewhere. I need to check it again but it will do for now. Hurled a few snails too. Watered front pots with the remains of the can. One of the dahlias i had given up on has a flower! What???? Now its sunny and warm out I am knackered!

Hoping its deep enough, its pretty shallow but foxgloves can grow in woodland/hedgerows so fingers crossed. If not I have new seedlings growing like mushrooms i can put elsewhere for next year. 😁
Pinched some of ds1s salami as no ham left and having a cheese salami sarnie with the half bag of crisps I left the other day😄

Might go out later and do some tidying up on other side out front...

Haha you’ve done more than enough for one day 😂 ! Hope the Foxgloves take, and fancy that Dahlia flowering just when you’d given up on it! 😁 Strawberries and scones sound lovely, especially with the cream. Hope the weather improved and you managed to get out again .it's gone very cold here today 🥶

Brr it turned cold again @DirtyGertiefromno30 so no more gravel. Am a bit achy all over for some reason every joint complaining today. So hopefully will get stuck in tomorrow.
No cream, coop fridges have been off and on this week so just a few milks there and general didnt have any either. Oh well butter and jam here we come. And no cake! Dammmm.
Got mince and sausages on cooker and dough ball mix to go in soon. Just gonna do waffles for all.
Shopping list is long! But I only went to coop this week and spent £18 altogether so shouldn't complain. Going on Tuesday when Ds1 is off. I was checking the boxes of biscuits out for prices for Xmas. Cheapest was Victoria in Asda but its only 500g now! It looks like one layer and about 2 of each biscuit, and less biscuits! As much packaging as biscuits 😡 Will check out others anyway and also buying just packets. It's ridiculous! Maybe aldi will have thier own at a better price/weight? I always get a nice box for the lot up the garage and one for us but now...

Hope your aches have eased by tomorrow @Thebookofcarolagainand you can get stuck back in tomorrow. Shame about the cream, but butter and jam will have to do . No cake though, that’s just not on! 😂 Those biscuit tins are a ridiculous price now, you pay more for less and half of it is packaging 😡. Aldi might be worth a look, hopefully their own ones are better value. You’ve done well with your shopping this week, £18 is really good going. Hope you enjoy your waffles , yummy 😋

Snap @DirtyGertiefromno30 I have one of my fleece blankets over me. (My Lucille one ds2 got me for Xmas) and my heat pad on a bloody annoying part of my back.
Been watching Zac and all those crazy debtors. It's just rampant in USA and the amount of people wondering why they have to pay money back thinking if they ignore it the company will just forget it. What??? Apparently it's so bad now the CC companies are going after just a couple of grand in unpaid ccs now. Capitol One seems to be one of the worst Ccs in USA. If you get notified to go to court over it and you ignore it they can legally just apply to garnish your wages . Crazy people getting into thousands of $s in debt cos of interest over not paying just a grand off a couple of years ago. Makes me feel so much better over my finances😁 USA is cooked.

Aww hope your back eases up @Thebookofcarolagain. Running up thousands in debt and thinking if they ignore it it'll all magically disappear! what planet are they on 🤦‍♀️.

Ha ha I have muscari @DirtyGertiefromno30 and they multiply like wildfire. I have some in a pot too and every couple of years i have to empty it out and half the number of bulbs in it! 😁😁
