Oh where did you get the kneel mat @DirtyGertiefromno30 ?
Mine is ok but getting a little squishy. But sone i saw were bit iffy fir the price. They wanted.
Did bacon cheese burgers for ds1 and I. Filled a big gap. 😁
Watching Dave Ramsey. Some of these idiots earning 300 - 600k a year and wondering where thier money goes. Ridiculous. Frittering it away on nonsense thats where. What i wouldn't give for that amount of money! Some idiot bought a $4million house! Paying $7.5k a month for the mortgage! $2k for ridiculous cars. He thought if he waited for his next tax break he would be back on track! No sympathy.
Now do I risk freezing with an ice cream? 😄

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 18/10/2026 19:13

Honestly, how on earth do you spend that sort of money and not know where it's gone @Thebookofcarolagain! Some people really haven't got a clue @Thebookofcarolagain🤣. What I wouldn't give for a bit of that money too! 😂 Go on, have the ice cream, you van have frozen breath then 😁🥶.
Got the super ultra kneeling pad from Waitrose, it was outside in the garden sale stuff it's excellent honestly so good . Briars super ultra kneeling pad.
£3.75 instead of God knows how much 🙄 .

Thebookofcarolagain · 18/10/2026 19:53

Oh no dont go to that trouble @DirtyGertiefromno30 I can survive.

We don't have a waitrose anywhere around here.
I rejected the ice cream when I noticed my last cinnamon swirl in freezer when I was looking for my ice creams😄

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 18/10/2026 20:28

It's no trouble just say the word 👍. Haha the Aldi cinnamon whirls ate just irresistible 😋😁

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 18/10/2026 20:35

I would need a way to pay you back plus postage @DirtyGertiefromno30 .
Its a lovely offer but I dont want to put you out.
Yep the swirl was yummy😄

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 18/10/2026 20:47

Evening all!
well, I am finally , officially, up to date with my crafting to do list <hurrah> . Still lots on my 'like to do' list , but thats not any time pressure .😀
Ah Chasing - hardly surprising the garden took a back seat , your body had much more important things to get on with . I have had a pretty poor gardening year , we have had such a drought here . I am just now going out an hour a day to try and sort out some of the problems - cutting back dead branches from shrubs , digging out dead plants etc . Started to dig out the compost heap and adding it around to give everything a bit of a boost . I have cosmos only now coming into flower , trying to make up for lost time . I have just a couple of tomato plants left in the greenhouse with tomatoes on , and trying to make them last .
I actually have one of those 'old person' kneelers , which has handles to push yourself back up - I dont think I would manage a kneeler now Dirtie . The gloves from Waitrose sound lovely - I get through so many , its a bit of a joke , I always get a pair for Christmas , as I need them 😁
I am on a newish learning curve on food atm just for high cholesterol ( just tipped over to bad from good) so I am embracing overnight oats - I am getting quite experimental with things to chuck in to make them interesting !
Its hard to change a diet of a lifetime Dirtie , so you are doing a great job by sounds . Goodness knows how you cope BookofCarol with your lack of dairy and pills etc., along with everything else .
Well FridayNigh - I bet you are still missing your DD , but I promise you , all of a sudden they come back , and are under your feet !
Just another week , then its half term break here , so looking forward to that . Lots to do , but I am not going to go mad . Still waiting for the builder , he didn't come this week in the end , but no rush really ..
Waves to everyone
Take care all x

Thebookofcarolagain · 18/10/2026 22:19

Well done you @bookbook .
Can you send me some motivation to get out and do my garden please? Sounds like you are going to be busy.
Shame about the builder, why do they promise and not turn up?
My late fruiting toms are doing well! Have about 14 left on one but the yellow ones only 2 more but I am happy.
One of those kneelers wouldn't suit me I dont think cos i need to sit on my bum i cant kneel for more than a few minutes. Makes life interesting 😄
I only have to forgo dairy in the evenings which is bad enough as I cant have hot drinks or biccies etc . If I had to do it 24/7 I would go crazy i don't like any of the alternative ones i tried so many but yeuk.
I made ordinary porridge the other morning and added leftover strawberries i sugared for the cream we had for pud, and I held back a splash of the cream in the pot. Very nice

Thebookofcarolagain · 18/10/2026 22:25

Oh bless you @DirtyGertiefromno30 but its fine I can use mine for a while yet its not bust. Will look around next time I go shopping maybe get one on sale at this time of year. Thank you so much for offering.

Thebookofcarolagain · 19/10/2026 11:39

Morning all.
Flipping freezing here now.
Wasn't so cold first thing when I took car to garage and walked home, it was pretty pleasant. Now its grey and overcast. Brrr.
No big plans as everything was damp and wet this morning. Damm give us a nice autumn day!
Hope its better with you all.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 19/10/2026 12:48

I know what you mean about changing how you eat @bookbook. I’m finding it a huge learning curve, and it’s not easy changing habits you’ve had for years, is it? We’re both learning as we go! Your overnight oats sound much healthier than some of my experiments though! 😂
Hope you have a lovely half term and get a bit of time to relax and enjoy yourself without feeling you have to cram everything in. Hopefully the builder will turn up soon too, although they do seem to work to their own timetable! 😂 Take care and have a lovely week ❤️

Afternoon everyone 🤗
Been up town top ranking 😁.
Bought the girls advent calendars , yes l know it's early 😁 but they wanted Guylian ones and l have been looking everywhere for them .They had them in B&M would you believe it! So l pounced 😁. Sorted out my bank account l had locked myself out of it . Also sorted out our broadband as well . Thank God for that 🙄.
It's definitely turned chilly hasn’t it @Thebookofcarolagain 🥶 .We need some of those lovely crisp autumn days with sunshine, not this damp, grey miserable stuff. Hope you manage to get cosy and have a nice afternoon anyway. 😊

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 19/10/2026 16:00

Ha ha at the advent calendars @DirtyGertiefromno30. I didn't buy my two one last year as they were a ridiculous price for what you get in them but I never saw the Guylian ones, hmmm. Will look in B&M next time we go in. It's not often cos its the other side of town away from Aldi and HB etc.

Still cold here and to add insult to injury it started raining a while ago, sick of it.

Been watching Dave Ransey show. Didn't realise Rachel was his Dd. She was winding him up something hilarious over a TV show where a couple were discussing finances. (Love is Blind, it sounds awful tbh) He was going nuts over the whole concept and the idiot she highlighted, was hilarious. I had to agree with him😄😄 She was in hysterics laughing at him, just pushing all his buttons.

Just had a hot choc to try to warm up. (I could do more housework but really not feeling it today 😁😁)

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 19/10/2026 16:59

I don't blame you @Thebookofcarolagain, some of those advent calendars are ridiculous money for what you actually get! 😂
I paid £11.99 each for the Guylian ones 😱. If it hadn't been the first year l have found d them then l wouldn't have got them but they wanted them so .... Spoilt little buggers 😁. Have a look in B&M next time, you might get lucky with the Guylian ones. It's flipping cold here 😩. That sounds so funny watching Rachel winding Dave up, she obviously knows exactly how to get him going! 😂 I don't think Love Is Blind sounds my cup of tea either! Enjoy your hot chocolate and forget the housework for a bit, there's always tomorrow! 😁
Having Gammon , broad beans new pots carrots and parsley sauce tonight yummy 😋

Thebookofcarolagain · 19/10/2026 18:04

Ooh heck you really spoiled them @DirtyGertiefromno30 🤣
Just got car back i figured he was just keeping it or had been too busy I could have gone up for it tomorrow. Bless him he forgot about it after he did the brake and just brought it over for me. 😄
I made chilli, garlic and honey chicken for tea. I like the one we get at Chinese but the chicken is usually stuck together and needs separating and its quite heavy.(its coated in flour i think) I made mine with chili sauce so only a splash of vinegar and didnt over thicken it, cooked chicken fillets, no coating, sliced them then put them in hot sauce with veggies for a few minutes. Omg sooo good 😲. Lighter and fresher than chinese one Next time will make more sauce to soak into the rice more 😉 Very pleased with myself. Will def make that again.
My tum is all warm now 😄

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 19/10/2026 19:07

Bless him, at least you’ve got your car back now @Thebookofcarolagain! That chicken sounds absolutely delicious! 😋. I bet it was much nicer without all the heavy coating . You should be very pleased with yourself, definitely sounds like one to add to the repertoire 😁👍
Had our tea it was yummy fair dos . Got enough fir leftovers tomorrow too so that tomorrow's tea sorted out 😁👍.

Thebookofcarolagain · 19/10/2026 20:36

Ooh I will be round about 5 tomorrow @DirtyGertiefromno30 😁
Just messaged ds2 to see if its safe for me to put jammies on, yep ..whoohoo.

Thebookofcarolagain · 19/10/2026 20:40

Put my patchwork on top of the duvet yesterday and of course temps went up later pm. Think i might need it tonight though its 7° in kitchen!

FridayNighFeeling · 19/10/2026 21:15

Hi all, so many posts to catch up with! Hope you're all well with your medical bits and pieces.

All I can say @bookbook is that I can't stand overnight oats or hot porridge either, but I like eating frozen fruit, plain yogurt and home made granola --currently nut free, so added some seeds to the oats and mix with olive oil and a lot of syrup/honey... however just about 30g of granola just for some crunch.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 19/10/2026 23:00

See you about 5 tomorrow then @Thebookofcarolagain 🤣. I'll have the kettle on! 😁 Nothing better than getting your jammies on early and being all cosy under patchwork quilt . 7° in the kitchen though, blimey, you need to wrap yourself up tonight! 🥶 Typical the temperature went up as soon as you got it out yesterday as well 🥵 🙄. Watching the first series of Gone Fishing 🎣 so funny 🤣

Morning all. Water pressure vanished last night so have had to phone maintenance to come sort it as no key to do it myself. Dammm.

DirtyGertiefromno30 · 20/10/2026 09:59

Good morning everyone 🤗
Cold 8C and raining here like hell and all night , it looks like it is set to be like this for the week hey ho 🙄.
On our way to see Mum now got to go the long way because BT are changing a telephone pole so they have shut the road all day .
Oh no that's the last thing you need @Thebookofcarolagain l hope they come and do it asap for you lovely.
Fingers crossed 🤞 😁.
Hope everyone is ok and having a good day and you too @FridayNighFeeling hope everything is ok with you and yours sweetheart 🤗

OP posts:
Thebookofcarolagain · 20/10/2026 10:13

They said there would be someone ASAP but they have to give a 6hr time frame @DirtyGertiefromno30 . Fingers crossed.
I had 2 bottles of water in cupboard under stairs so did manage to clean my teeth😄 Need to.add them onto the list to replenish. We also have those large baby wipes for emergencies too so hand 'washing' is kinda covered. Still you dont realise what you take for granted till its gone.
Weather sounds foul. Hope forecast is wrong. Cloudy and grey here. Wind is to get up and rain later pm. Oh joy.
