You can do it! Try going for a walk?

Bubblesbubbles · 19/06/2017 16:55

Trapped in house until later as the kids on the street screaming and shouting always scare me! Currently in a cold bath though which seems to be doing the trick, but the sofa is seriously tempting if it could speak it would be like Grin come on down bubbles I'm so comfy maybe you can lie down and shut your eyes for a bit !!

autisticrat · 19/06/2017 17:05

Fair enough; probably a bit warm for a walk anyway.

My bed talks to me sometimes. It tells me I'm just going to lie down for a second and definitely not go to sleep. It's not that different to sitting on it. In fact, it's just a horizontal kind of sitting. And lying down for five minutes will refresh me enough that I can go on with my day. Just lie down… rest your head here where it's comfy, yes, you can feel the breath steadying out there, while you relax for five minutes… you'll feel refreshed and wide awake in a moment, don't worry… you're getting a little chilly. Best pull that duvet up, just for a moment? And those trousers are restricting you. They've been outside, you really shouldn't be wearing them; the sheets will get mucky. Thaaaat's it…

Bubblesbubbles · 19/06/2017 17:09
Grin My new goal is just 6pm anything after is a bonus! as I feel all my furniture is basically going to be saying that to me! I'm frantically mumsnettinf in the bath as I know if I put my phone down I'll just nod off in the bath!
autisticrat · 19/06/2017 17:10

Are you a gamer? A quick blast on GTA or COD might help Grin

Bubblesbubbles · 19/06/2017 17:12

Ah yes I game! Good idea will load up the computer and play some guildwaes2, I also have to make something for dh to eat, so that should keep me up longer, I'm tempted just to give him a spoon and a tub of ice cream though Grin

MrsNutella · 19/06/2017 18:55

Hmmmm ice cream. I'd like some ice cream for dinner!
But we finished it yesterday and I didn't buy any today. Plus I'm now home alone with the kids sleeping upstairs. So I can't even go and buy some. Sad

Life is cruel.

See, my sofa doesn't invite me to sleep. It's more like "MrsN, it's cosy here, the washing will still need to be folded later. The kitchen you can deal with later. Sit down. Sit a bit longer..... a bit longer. You still have plenty of time. All those things you should be doing... don't worry about them. It's so comfortable here" Confused my bum should really be sofa shaped!

autisticrat · 19/06/2017 21:02

Is Bubbles sleeping?

MrsNutella · 19/06/2017 21:04

BUBBLES?

I guess she is. I am no the sofa and not cleaning the kitchen or folding the washing....

autisticrat · 19/06/2017 21:23

It's too hot to clean the kitchen.

MrsNutella · 19/06/2017 21:29

Yeah..... but I'm in Germany. So it's actually not that hot here today although the summer three years ago when I was mega pregnant was around 26-30 for the last five fun filled weeks

autisticrat · 19/06/2017 21:32

It's always too hot to clean the kitchen.

30° and ready to pop? Eek.

MrsNutella · 19/06/2017 22:06

Odd strikeout fail.... yeah. I was a teeny tiny bit fed up. And the heat was relentless! I remember having lots of cold baths in the evenings and crying a lot

This year the weather has been all over the place. So odd! Some super hot days up at 29 and then back down to 18 or something ridiculous. And some serious rain.

BertieBotts · 19/06/2017 22:18

It's always about 5C hotter than the rest of Germany where we are. Three years ago was awful. It was our second summer here and we lived in a roof. Even walking to the pool was too much (I remember seeing the weather forecast 38 and thinking WTF, I didn't even know that was safe for humans, wouldn't we all melt?) so we all just went and sat in the stream at the end of our street for most of the day and tried not to kill each other when we eventually went back to our awful house Grin

BertieBotts · 19/06/2017 22:20

Oh no sorry, it was 2015 I'm thinking of apparently.

MrsNutella · 19/06/2017 22:26

2015 is a blur. But the heat in pregnancy in 2014 was killing my will to carry on!

Bertie are you near Stuttgart? I know that's a hot and sticky corner in the summer. We're north boring boring boring land

BertieBotts · 19/06/2017 22:36

According to my facebook photos:

In June 2014 I experienced my first ever over 30C and felt like I might die. I found DS happily wrapped up in a duvet cover watching TV and posted alarmed photos about this. Nobody cared.

In April 2015, a can of those self bake croissants spontaneously started to rise in our oven-house and exploded.

In May 2015 I watched Black Books and felt like Manny in the heatwave episode so I turned all of our thermometers to Farenheight and obsessed over it reaching 88 degrees. I think about one person got the joke and everyone else just thought I was insane.

We had great thunderstorms that year. We also bought a car because we needed something - anything - with air con. We were most put out to find out that you can't just drive away with a brand new car and you have to wait for it to actually be made and stuff.

I can't find the river swimming but I'm sure I had pics of it.

BertieBotts · 19/06/2017 23:19

Yes nearish. It's an airport we use.

Bubblesbubbles · 20/06/2017 05:07

Yes just woke up now Grin so not too bad, fell asleep in the drained bath at like 6:30/7ish and dh ended up having to carry me to the bed as apparently sleepy me was like no I won't move, I'll just sleep in the bath! Grin hoping to stretch till 10pm tonight.

Omg the heat though, it's only 5am and it's already awful.

autisticrat · 20/06/2017 09:42

Well done Bubbles; 10 hours is a nice chunk and hopefully will have sorted out your sleep debt Grin, and you're now in the vicinity of a normal bedtime; yay!

MrsNutella · 20/06/2017 10:06

10hours..... that sounds like bliss. Why am I so shit at going to bed early?

bubblesbubbles · 20/06/2017 10:11

Yeah it was good I feel so refreshed this morning! I wonder if it's an ASD thing, the whole staying up late, preferring to be night owls, lots of us do seem to fall into that?

FaithAgain · 20/06/2017 10:17

I go through phases where I do that - stay up late. It was worse when I regularly worked nights. I need lots of time to unwind.

Glad you got some decent kip bubbles.

MrsNutella · 20/06/2017 10:17

And I managed to go to bed with one contact lens still in. Because I am a moron. Obvs.

Bubblesbubbles · 20/06/2017 10:29

Least you will of seen well in your dreams Wink
Feeling really energised today, my task for the day is looking for houses on rightmove as were hoping to move soon, so that's a fun task!
