Bertie it was a troll with an offensive name using the term spastic Angry hence the name deletion.

Welcome chou. I like hearing from lurkers when they say hello. Care to tell us more about yourself?

FerretsAreFeminists · 13/07/2017 21:59

I'm clearly a bit slow as I actually thought for a minute that that was the name the troll had picked out for themselves Blush .Then it dawned on me that they really had edited the name which I've never seen before either. Then again I've never seen a post deleted on one of these support threads either.

Why am I talking about this? There are much more important and interesting things to talk about than GF's.

FerretsAreFeminists · 13/07/2017 22:05

When it comes to animals, quite a lot of my nicknames on here have referenced animals in some way. It just kind of happened though, I didn't plan it that way.

When it comes to super furry small animals, I have had rabbits, guinea pigs and hamsters nearly all my life. Right now I have a hammy and two piggies as well as two cats.

I couldn't imagine not having pets tbh. They are so much easier to understand and get along with than people imo. They also don't care that I'm a bit weird Grin

BertieBotts · 13/07/2017 22:08

We really miss having pets but don't seem to be making any headway in getting any :( Maybe when DH's foot is better we'll look into gerbils again.

FerretsAreFeminists · 13/07/2017 22:12

People tell me I have too many pets but I can afford them and they are all really spoiled and pampered. Plus they make me happy so why not?

Are gerbils friendly? I always imagine them to be quite fast and active and just wanting to run around constantly.

MrsNutella · 13/07/2017 22:14

There is or st least was a thread in site stuff and someone commented about the offensive terms being used in the usernames of the trolls and MN changed them. Which I think is really awesome! Although also, absolutely the right thing to do.

Re: dating, DH and I met on holiday as you do we were both on a big trip and thinking about life what we wanted etc. We bumped into each other completely by chance by signing up separately to take part in a small road privately organised road trip.
We were only together for 5 days and then went out separate ways again but we both knew we'd started something.

So we kept in touch and organised a flight, that I booked, to visit him once we were both home. I was based in London at the time and he in Nuremberg. We flew back and forth for 10 months and then I moved over.

I definitely agree about meeting face to face and meetings online. They both work and finding time for communication is really important. I think that's the key. Slow steady communication with no silly games.

Anyway, so far it seems ok Grin

Oh and DH bought a book about living with an ADHD partner... he doesn't really read books so I will be mightily impressed if he ever finishes it. He mostly picks it up reads a few pages and tells me "someone wrote a book about you!"

Chouetted · 13/07/2017 22:14

There's not much to tell, Faith, and if I post too much I won't be lurking any more Grin

I'm female, in my early 30s, live in Wales, diagnosed two years ago. I also have hearing and eyesight problems, and dyspraxia, so really it's a marvel any of me works at all.

I do get quite a bit of support from the NHS, because of a history of mental health issues caused by the ASD (and also cos I won the postcode lottery. Sorry about that Blush).

Oh, and my last boyfriend dumped me because he was fed up of me always being right Confused

MrsNutella · 13/07/2017 22:20

Chouette hello! Sorry, forgot before.
If that is really what made your boyfriend dump you are definitely better off! DH hates that I'm always right Wink but he manages to live with me despite myself CakeWine

We are still "on holiday" and went out for a lovely meal together. I got a little bit tipsy and had real trouble sticking to one language. So we mostly spoke in German and threw in some English and a little French... which felt good but weird. Yeah, definitely weird.

MrsNutella · 14/07/2017 08:26

Guys, if you're going to the dr to ask about an ADHD /ASD diagnosis what is it good to know beforehand and what paperwork might help?
My long term conspiracy believer and ADHD denier brother has finally decided that it might be worth investigating.
Any links/ ideas /advice would be really appreciated, thank you.

I think his area is Warwickshire. I'm off to google services and see if I can find anything useful.

BigDamnHero · 14/07/2017 14:56

I've been AWOL for a while. I actually got back into blogging and have been doing quite well at keeping up with posting etc. but, of course, that means I've been neglecting all other areas of life (including this thread).

Hope everyone's okay. I need to pick up DS1 from school in a minute but I'm placemarking so I can come back later and catch up a bit.

Also, I've applied for carer's allowance and they back-date it for a few months. If I get it (can't see why I wouldn't) I might use some of the money to get the initial AFA assessment...eek...

It's not like you can pick and chose your disability. Now fuck off! Reported, again!

HerRoyalFattyness · 15/07/2017 08:23

FFS. what a prick.

MrsNutella · 15/07/2017 09:24

I reported that post too.... I'm not sure when MN deleted it but I just got a heap of emails. I've asked the MN bods if they can also edit the username. although the one they chose seems kind of appropriate

Otherwise I thinks it's best to ignore them and pretend their post didn't even exit. Hope everyone is having a nice Saturday. We've just had croissant for breakfast from the Boulangerie Smile

HerRoyalFattyness · 15/07/2017 09:28

Just been chatting via pm and was wondering if anybody would be interested in a secret facebook group for us? So that we aren't being harassed by trolls.
We could keep this thread going for the newbies, but for those of us who are not wanting to post because of the trolls it could be a good thing.

Notreallyarsed · 15/07/2017 09:29

I just saw your username MrsNutella between that and the croissants it sounds amazing!

FaithAgain · 15/07/2017 09:40

I'd be interested HRF. I feel very vulnerable here now Sad A secret fb group would be much more secure and we could share pictures.

bubblesbubbles · 15/07/2017 09:41

I'm in!

Polter · 15/07/2017 09:48

I'd possibly be interested too, but it must only be posters with long histories on here or verifiable in some way. The current troll is making me suspicious of anyone I don't recognise Sad

Notreallyarsed · 15/07/2017 10:01

I'm new to this thread but HRF can vouch for me as we're friends off MN too.

Notreallyarsed · 15/07/2017 10:01

If that's ok I mean.

MrsNutella · 15/07/2017 10:19

I would definitely be in for a Fbook group. Although I try and restrict my time on there and end up on here more Confused

It's sad that trolls can cause so much upset. At least the trolls only seem to have the time to troll at the weekends.

bubblesbubbles · 15/07/2017 10:21

It's the same person. They've been trolling for the last couple of days, about 6-7ish when theres no mods, not just ours but the threads for people with kids with sn's. sad fuck.

FerretsAreFeminists · 15/07/2017 10:33

I'm in two minds about a FB group tbh. What I like about MN is that it is anonymous and I often feel extra exposed and vulnerable when people know who I am if that makes any sense.

Plus I can say what I really think on here without getting into (too much!) trouble Grin

I'll have to get back to you on that one.

FerretsAreFeminists · 15/07/2017 10:44

I'm ToadsJustFellFromTheSky/AVirginLitTheCandle in case anyone didn't recognise me Grin
