I definitely have songs attached to specific memories or times in my life or people.

Iris - Goo Goo Dolls - gets me
every time. I love the song and it’s also my DD’s name.

Hold My Girl - George Ezra - transports my back to her very early baby days and me singing it to her every night while cuddling her.

She’s a Rainbow - Rolling Stones - is my other daughter through and through! My beautiful whirlwind of sunshine and sparkle!

Ho Hey - Lumineers - reminds me of my boy at a very specific time. It was played loads when I had just started my second maternity leave but my DC2 hadn’t been born yet and it was just me and him at home ❤️

Everlong - Foo Fighters - wedding first dance song!

Walking on Sunshine - first holiday abroad with just my girlfriends, not family, aged 18! Just done my A-levels and had the best time!

Dancing in the Moonlight - Toploader - uni days!

Lots of songs associated with certain friends 😊

Morning has broken - Cat Stevens

Im not and never have been religious, my parents used to play a lot of Cat Stevens when I was little and that song for some reason always made me feel like there is something more ? Dont know what but he captured something with it. Takes me right back to childhood and yet also makes me feel full of wisdom just like it always did ?

Stevie Wonders 'I just called to say I love you'.

My lovely late mum, who wasn't really into pop music rang me up and said,,,'I have just heard a lovely song on the radio, I bet it'll get to No1',
Problem was she had no idea who sang it and what it was called. All she knew was it was a man phoning his girlfriend to tell her how much he cared.

It did start to become popular, and she was right, it did get to No1.

Ave Maria sing by Andreas Bocelli - makes me think of my DM as she loves it and we played it at her funeral

A Boy Named Sue - Johnny Cash - my Dad always used to sing this when I was little

Move Like Jagger - Maroon 5 - my DS loved this song so much and would dance along to it

More today than yesterday..Spiral Stair case.
A young lady from Edinburgh called Lainey She went to niters early 80s.
She came up to my home town after a niter and when I saw her down to the train station next day.
We shared a very passionate kiss and I never saw her again at niters.

I hope she fared ok in life as there's things I wouldn't reveal here about her

One of them is one of my favourites to sing-a-long to in the car - you'll be able to guess which x🫢

SaraHoliday I sing along to it badly ….

we’re on holiday at the moment and the restaurant we went to to watch the football match had karaoke on before and a very pretty Dutch/german ( ?) girl murdered a couple of songs before another couple sang Shallow very very badly

Kings of Leon’s sex on fire literally makes me feel sick - it was playing a lot in DH’s car when I had morning sickness 17 years ago. I can be feeling nauseous before I realise what’s on the radio.

Rule the world, take that. Was everywhere when DD was tiny and I sang it to her constantly.

dancing in the moonlight, toploader. The sunniest, happiest afternoon with my sis.

drummer boy, King & Country. I play it on loop every Christmas.

thousand miles, Vanessa Carlton. Melts my heart.

young guns, wham! The most incredible summer the year I left school.

tears in heaven, Eric Clapton. Raw emotion.

UrbanSoul · Today 22:39

Wish You Were Here - Pink Floyd. One glorious summer with my bestie in Cornwall.

Bananalanacake · Today 23:24

Don't you want me baby - Human League, reminds me of my brother being born close to Christmas.

Believe - Cher, reminds me of meeting at my friend's flat before a great Saturday night out.
