ButterflyMcQueen · 06/06/2008 15:21

(gets marillion tunes on ipod)

can you call marillion 'tune'???

southeastastra · 06/06/2008 15:21

lol are cradle of filth still going? they did a tv show didn't they

donnie · 06/06/2008 15:21

my favourite band is the Killers.

DaDaDa · 06/06/2008 15:22

prefab sprout - i love them (not that alberkirky one)

That's all anyone ever remembers about the Sprouts though. So unfair when it's a novelty song about a novelty song, and 99% of PM's other songs are pure genius.

RHCP are BORING
limp bizkit are crap(ok I like some of their stuf) but they are to big headed

2shoes · 06/06/2008 15:23

so are metallica and Iron maiden boys bands?

donnie · 06/06/2008 15:25

oh yes DaDaDa - I have all their albums from back in the day. I particularly like Don't sing, the only song about Graham Greene's ' the power and the glory' I can think of.

On another note, weren't we discussing Roland Gift a while back? now they were a good little trio (FYC) and quite blokey IMO.

fillybuster · 06/06/2008 15:27

I just don't buy into this male/female music thing - I've never liked pop music (listened to the Doors, pink floyd, led zep, iron maiden, metallica etc through the 80's and discovered duran duran, wham and other such fun stuff years later at uni...in fact, my dh likes all the softer stuff (madonna, general pop etc), and I go for pink floyd, RHCP, NIN, RATM, metallica, nirvana, deep purple, doors and lots of very loud industrial techno. We only just about agree on massive attack, herbaliser, william orbit and some trip-hop stuff

DaDaDa · 06/06/2008 15:43

Oh no, FYC definitely not a blokes band. Catchy pop songs and a dishy lead singer. [Did I really just write dishy? Never mind my Dad, I'm turning into my Mam ]

zippitippitoes · 06/06/2008 15:51

i jsut thought bullet for my valentine might be a blokey band

so there arent really any universal agreements then

hardly surprising

DaDaDa · 06/06/2008 15:53

No one has said they like Quo yet!

OP posts:
harleyd · 06/06/2008 15:59

harley I don't believe you like Status Quo, it must be a pity like, or an ironic like. You are just trying to skew my prediction. :P

SummatAndNowt · 06/06/2008 16:58

fuck me, I guess I'm a bloke!

2shoes · 06/06/2008 17:08

zippi this is the reason why BFMV is not a bloke's band

VictorianSqualor · 06/06/2008 17:08

I like Status Quo, I remember they played in my town when I was quite young, at the cricket ground near my nans and I went to stay at her house so I could hear them in the back garden, 'twas great

Mind you, I got most of my taste in music from my step-dad growing up, he was a tattooed-biker with a love for heavy metal and my mum was a power ballad queen so not surprising I like more 'blokey' music now.

UnquietDad · 06/06/2008 17:09

Marillion are more interesting now with Steve Hogarth than they were with Fish.
