I think women don't like Joy Division and especially New Order. New Order is emperor's new clothes type stuff - supposed to be progressive, electronic and alternative. Actually tinny and poppy but not in a good way.

New Order are (were) the best band on the planet. I listened to a lot of JD as an angst-ridden teenager but much prefer NO these days.
