Just wondering if anyone else managed to to get Pulp tickets today, all my 20 something year old work colleagues had no idea who Pulp were and though I was mad for being so excited!

Oh I’m on my way

Andywarholswig · 02/07/2023 08:21

Was anyone at Finsbury Park last night? I had such a good time - they were AMAZING! I have literally no voice this morning but it was so worth it!

Spidey66 · 02/07/2023 12:14

It was fantastic. Jarvis Cocker still has it.

Rainbowshit · 02/07/2023 12:35

Thought you'd all enjoy this.

It was brilliant. Appart from people talking so much I couldnt hear his conversation. And people passing out. He looked very dapper. Poor Candida I hope she wasnt in too much pain.

NotMyDayJob · 02/07/2023 19:29

It was amazing. A lot more people than 25 years ago and terrible queues but absolutely amazing.

Verite1 · 02/07/2023 19:40

It was fantastic. Moment to remember

AgentProvocateur · 02/07/2023 22:56

Can’t wait for Friday (despite the Baltic conditions in Glasgow at the moment)

ClosedAuraOpenMind · 03/07/2023 00:40

me too @AgentProvocateur . have bought a new rain jacket in preparation. want to look my best for Jarvis 😂

LaviniasBigBloomers · 03/07/2023 00:56

I noticed that she appeared in a lot of pain, bless her x

She got the second biggest cheer of the night though.

I also thought wet leg were great as well. Not sure if they are supporting them at any other venues as well.

AgentProvocateur · 03/07/2023 15:43

@LaviniasBigBloomers guarantee I’ll be the oldest person at TRNSMT! 😂

FartOutLoudDay · 03/07/2023 20:10

Richard Hawley is supporting in Sheffield

Wet leg were great! I'm old and not heard of them till they were announced as the support, then looked up some of their songs on YouTube and now they're my new favourite band (well after Pulp of course!!!). Baxter Dury passed me by. I prefer his Dad, who I saw at the Forum in Kentish Town in the early 90s. He was damn fine I can tell you!

Spidey66 · 03/07/2023 20:55

The only thing that bothered me was the bar queues. But I'm recovering from a broken arm and wanted to keep my alcohol level low to prevent me having a fall or bumping into others so it actually worked in my favour!

whatatime · 03/07/2023 21:02

I love Wet leg and saw them at a festival last year, wish they were supporting in Manchester tomorrow!

Spidey66 · 03/07/2023 21:23

@whatatime you'll love it even in the absence of Wet Leg! The set was fantastic, the band were great and Jarvis Cocker is still as charismatic as ever! I have now seen Pulp 4 times, and Jarvis solo twice. I love Jarvis and Pulp so much.....though tbh I wasn't as keen on his last solo offering as I was the first 2.

Spidey66 · 03/07/2023 21:29

I saw Pulp on Hyde Park about 10 years ago and Grace Jones was supporting act. I knew of her of course from the 80s but only knew her hits. OMG she was fantastic! She must have been in her 60s but looked so good, and my god is in great shape. She sang Slave to the Rhythm while simultaneously hula hooping. The track lasted 5 minutes. To hula hoop for 5 minutes is challenging itself....to do it while singing is out of this world. I was really, really impressed with her performance.

I was at that gig! And funnily enough we were discussing it with friends just two days ago and I talked about GJ and her amazing hula hooping!

waterlego · 03/07/2023 23:12

…and my comments were pretty much the same as yours. To hula hoop at all is a skill. To do so for 5 minutes is impressive. To do so for 5 minutes while singing is seriously impressive. And to do all that while being in one’s 60s is just something else 😂

whatatime · 05/07/2023 00:11

Oh my!! How bloody amazing are they?!? What a show they put on, they are definitely up there with some of the best bands I've seen live.
Also can't believe I've never been to Castlefield bowl before, I'm local ish (Manchester is my nearest big city) but I've never actually been to it, amazing venue.
Not sure I'm going to get to sleep get to sleep in so buzzing Grin

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 06/07/2023 11:18

This is a bit random (wasn’t sure where to ask) but does anyone have any recs for a nice place to eat in Scarborough on Saturday evening? Not fancy-fancy but not fish and chips on the prom.

waterlego · 07/07/2023 15:37

Sorry I can’t help with your question @Judystilldreamsofhorses as never been to Scarborough but just wanted to ask a question of my own to those who’ve already seen Pulp on this tour: did they play Razzmatazz? Not that it matters; I think I’m going to love the gig anyway, but just wondering!
