Just wondering if anyone else managed to to get Pulp tickets today, all my 20 something year old work colleagues had no idea who Pulp were and though I was mad for being so excited!

Seen them a few times in the nineties and was looking forward to seeing them again but could only get tickets in Dublin and it was going to work out so expensive to get there that we sold them in the end. feeling a bit sad about it now.

We’re going to Scarborough! I’m so excited, we’re staying at the Grand Hotel which I imagine is an absolute dump, but I am calling “faded seaside glamour”. We’re travelling from Scotland so thought we might as well go somewhere different (def no to TRNSMT).

It's such a shame what Brittania have done to the Grand hotel and so many other beautiful hotels across the country Sad.

I am after a single ticket for Sheffield!

Still not sold my Dublin 2 either yet :(

Have you signed up to alerts on twickets for a Sheffield ticket?

You could also sell your Dublin ones on there for face value.

AtomicBlondeRose · 03/06/2023 08:59

I’m sorry to tell you that the Grand Hotel is indeed an ABSOLUTE dump. Which is a pity because it’s a beautiful building.

I chose Bridlington to see Pulp even though I live in Glasgow because I'd rather gouge my eyes out than go to TRNSMT.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/06/2023 13:06

I thought as much re the Grand Hotel - hopefully it will be clean and have a decent shower, I can’t imagine we will spend much time in the room, and we’re only there for two nights.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/06/2023 13:08

I’ve just looked it up - my partner booked it all and he said I would enjoy its Wes Anderson aesthetic. Having to pay for Wi-Fi is never good though!

UnctuousUnicorns · 03/06/2023 17:35

I hope the hotel doesn't turn out to be as bad as feared, Judy. 🤞 We're going to Scarborough in August for three nights for our silver anniversary, I'm also seeing a band (not Pull) at The Spa while we're there. We're staying in a seaview room at the Red Lea, which looks nice from the pics.

legospringqueen · 03/06/2023 18:42

I was sorely tempted to get a ticket for Manchester too...great you've managed to get a Sheffield ticket @CalmConfident - hometown gigs are always special!

AreYouShittingMe · 03/06/2023 19:37

@libertine80 it looks like you were stood near where I was!
Such a great gig. Went with my DS, only his second ever gig and 'the best night of his life ever' apparently!
Got tickets for Scarborough as well, and DS also got two tickets for London, so he'll have done the first and last gigs of the tour.

AgentProvocateur · 04/06/2023 08:14

@Rainbowshit I’m hoping TRNSMT will be full of “mature” people on the Friday for Pulp and Beautiful South… I’m looking forward to it, but also slightly dreading it and wishing I’d booked for London instead 😂

UnctuousUnicorns · 04/06/2023 10:43

Is TRNSMT absolutely awful, then? I'm in Glasgow, but have never been. I had a rough time at V2002 that gave me festival fear for the next twenty years. I was coaxed out of it last August; I went to Stone Valley North where my newly fave band were playing. We took our touring caravan and stayed the four nights, had a great time, lots of really good bands and beautiful weather, no trouble either. I really enjoyed it.

soupmaker · 04/06/2023 13:22

@UnctuousUnicorns I wouldn't go to TRNSMT if you paid me, and I worked in the music industry for over a decade and was a regular at T in the Park in my 20s and 30s. At least this year the crowd won't have all the 14 and 15 year olds as you have to be 16 to attend.

I have pals my ages who've been but they stick to the back of the crowd and drink gin in order to cope with the bedlam.

Im just watching Pulp the highlights from Isle of Wight. Jarv seems to have had rollers in?

waterlego · 25/06/2023 15:24

Such a performance @CalmConfident!
I was 17 that summer- wish I’d been there 😭

Spidey66 · 25/06/2023 19:51

So this a wwyd?
Im going to the Finsbury Park concert on Saturday.
Just over 3 weeks back I fractured my arm, it’s healing but still painful and in a sling.
I bought a lightweight camping seat, to bring because I can’t sit on the ground as I can’t then get up. But now tucked away in the t&cs there’s a prohibited list and seats are on it. Priority disabled access doesn’t cover temporary impairments like broken bones.
Would you still bring it? My husband thinks I should…the worst could happen they don’t let me bring it in and I have to collect it later.

IME you'll have zero chance of taking it in and equal likelihood of picking it up at the end of the gig. Leave your seat at home is my advice I'm afraid.

Spidey66 · 25/06/2023 20:36

Ok 😥

shame though, it would have been useful. I’ll just have to hope there’s a few seats around. I’m fairly local and know Finsbury Park….hopefully there will be some benches to sit on.

How about one of the walking sticks with in built seat.

EachandEveryone · 29/06/2023 19:08

Well I’m back from Glasto and just about over the disappointment of them not turning up to play. Anyway I hope this means they will headline next year. To get over it I have bought a ticket for Finsbury Park and I get a companion ticket due to this bastard cancer. I’ve had chemo yesterday so hopefully I won’t pass out at Jarvis’s feet.

Spidey66 · 30/06/2023 09:57

@EachandEveryone (EBTG?)
With your chemotherapy and my broken arm opiates, we can be the spaced out drug dealers tomorrow!

But he’d help you up. And be kind.
