Can't decide my favourite, either Disturbed's 'Sound of Silence' or Chrissie Hynde's 'Creep' both much better than original! What are yours?

First thing I thought of was Disturbed's Sound of Silence...it's awesome!

Bastille 'we can't stop' live lounge cover of Miley Cyprus song

Or

Credence Clearwater revival 'I heard it through the grapevine' The guitar solo on this is amazing!

LivingDeadGirlUK · 26/03/2018 15:19

I love Disturbed but can't stand that song Grin their cover of Land of confusion however is great!

I think mine is probably Machine Heads version of Message in a bottle.

CMOTDibbler · 26/03/2018 15:19

Johnny Cash, Hurt. Its amazing and the video is so touching

SouthernComforts · 26/03/2018 15:21

Not my final answer but the first one I thought of is Linkin Park performing Adele - Rolling in the deep. It's on YouTube.

Ooh yes the Bastille one is marvellous.

Also Article Monkeys version of Drake's Hold On, We're Going Home is pretty awesome.

ZeroFuchsGiven · 26/03/2018 15:30

Behind blue eyes - Limp Bizkit

Paie · 26/03/2018 15:35

The 4 chord song!
Covers nearly every famous recent song- though the recorded versions are poo, the live version is amazing! I'll see if I can link Grin

'Gimme Shelter' by The Sisters of Mercy

Cirrys · 26/03/2018 15:57

Commander Chris Hadfield's cover of David Bowie's Space Oddity, recorded in space on board the International Space Station.

Sting’s version of Little Wing. The Hendrix original is fabulous, but Sting’s version is just sublime.

spnfan · 26/03/2018 16:03

Jeff Buckleys Hallelujah. Smile

AnneWiddecombesHandbag · 26/03/2018 16:06

Soft cell tainted love. Although I do like the original too.

BunsForTea · 26/03/2018 16:11

I love Rufus Wainwright's "Across the Universe" and second Cdr Hadfield's "Space Oddity" - but my all-time favourite is Ian McCulloch's version of "Suzanne" by Leonard Cohen (available on YouTube).

MrsPotatoHeadIsMyIdol · 26/03/2018 16:12

I agree with PP about the Johnny Cash cover of hurt. Much better than the original

FedupNagging · 26/03/2018 16:14

Aztec Camera's version of Jump by Van Halen - 30 years on it's still one of my all time favourites

Brendaofbeechhouse · 26/03/2018 16:17

Sound of silence by disturbed, heard it through the grapevine, slits, just about anything covered by Johnny Cash, but Mercy Seat is awesome.

Effendi · 26/03/2018 16:18

Harry Nilsson - Without You.
Originally recorded by Badfinger.

Also agree with Tainted Love.

Graphista · 26/03/2018 16:19

Agree with many of these. Adding

GNR live and let die

TalkinPeece · 26/03/2018 16:25

Soft Cell - Tainted Love

Marilyn Manson - Tainted Love

MyfanwyMontez · 26/03/2018 16:25

Billy MacKenzie’s version of Roy Orbison’s It’s Over.
