Can't decide my favourite, either Disturbed's 'Sound of Silence' or Chrissie Hynde's 'Creep' both much better than original! What are yours?

Annie lennox, doing her version of Paul Simon's "Something so right".

Sparrowlegs248 · 26/03/2018 20:22

Agree with all the Guns n Roses covers. Also Jonny cash Hurt.

One that I loved at the time, was Arctic Monkeys in the live lounge, doing love machine by girls aloud. Comical.

Yes to Disturbed's Sound of Silence.
Tainted Love by Marc Almond.

Eels: When you wish upon a star
Joe Cocker: With a little Help from my Friends

Paul Rodgers: Goin 'Down Slow
Eva Cassidy: Over the Rainbow
Swan Arcade: the Great Valerio

Some great ones already mentioned on here but can I add Lemonheads Mrs Robinson.

Also, for pure randomness and entertainment, 80s US punk band . With lyrics like:
"My boyfriends back and he's got the Black and Decker....." Grin

Love it.

The Only Living Boy in New York by Everything but the girl. Originally done by Simon and Garfunkel

waitingfortheendtocome · 26/03/2018 21:36

Longtallwalker my god I'm a massive EBTG fan, didn't realise that was a cover. It's one of my favourites, their voices amazing

As someone mentioned above: Jonny Cash Hurt. So beautiful.

TheNaze73 · 26/03/2018 21:53

Glen Campbell’s cover, of Times Like These by The Foo Fighters

buckeejit · 26/03/2018 21:53

Great suggestions on here & I can feel a covers playlist coming for my Friday trip! Kd Lang's hymns of the 49th parallel album has loads of great covers but Jonny Cash cover of bird on a wire with full orchestra is breathtaking

notacooldad · 26/03/2018 21:57

DMA's version of Believe was miles better than Cher's and Saxon's Ride the Like the wind is great .

ShackUp · 26/03/2018 22:03

Piece of My Heart isn't by Janis Joplin, Erma Franklin (Aretha's sister) sang the original version, its written by a couple of songwriters.

YassQueen · 26/03/2018 22:05

Calum Scott - Dancing On My Own
Obadiah Parker - Hey Ya
Haley Reinhart - Can't Help Falling In Love
Florence & The Machine - Stand By Me

TheQuestingVole · 26/03/2018 22:08

William Shatner's cover of Common People. No, I'm not joking!

Muddlingalongalone · 26/03/2018 22:15

Stereophonics - handbags & gladrags
Soft Cell - tainted love (like everyone else)
Kula shaker - Hush

JaneJeffer · 26/03/2018 22:22

This is my favourite version of Always on My Mind by the gorgeous, multi-talented James Marsden from Ally McBeal

woodhill · 26/03/2018 22:24

I like Ramones - Baby I love you

evilharpy · 26/03/2018 22:40

Woodhill I adore that! I wanted to walk down the aisle to it but husband vetoed :(

MrsFogi · 26/03/2018 22:42

Mica Paris's cover of U2's "One"
