Can't decide my favourite, either Disturbed's 'Sound of Silence' or Chrissie Hynde's 'Creep' both much better than original! What are yours?

OP posts:

Bruce Springsteen's version of Jersey Girl

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 26/03/2018 19:42

Maxwell's cover of This Woman's Work by Kate Bush

ShatnersBassoon · 26/03/2018 19:45

Willie Nelson - Always On My Mind. I love Elvis's version, but Willie really pulls at my heartstrings. You can hear the regret pouring out of it.

elportodelgato · 26/03/2018 19:48

Joe Cockers version of 'help from my friends' is about 20x better than the Beatles

FluffyMcCloud · 26/03/2018 19:49

China Drum - Wuthering Heights

Myview2 · 26/03/2018 19:51

Hey Ya by Obadiah Parker

Oh and Wonderwall by Mike Flowers of course Grin

JessyJames · 26/03/2018 19:54

Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares to U for me as well.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 26/03/2018 19:57

Bauhaus' version of Bowie's Ziggy Stardust. The original is great but the cover has so much energy.

WhereTheFuckIsWonderWoman · 26/03/2018 19:59

Virtually everything that Walk off the Earth have done. Look them up on YouTube and you'll get lost for hours.

SimonBridges · 26/03/2018 20:00

Go your own way - Seaweed.
Hazy Shade of Winter - The Bangles.

dontticklethetoad · 26/03/2018 20:00

wherethefuck we're going to see them at the end of April!
I love 'Hello from the other side'. Just for the high kicking Grin

MrsGloop · 26/03/2018 20:02

“Hit Me Baby One More Time” by Travis. Slower and fantastic.

BellMcEnd · 26/03/2018 20:05

Jeff Buckley’s Hallelujah
Eva Cassidy’s Over The Rainbow
GnR - Live and Let Die
Sheryl Crow’s Sweet Child O’Mine NOT

Dusty Springfield's version of 'Windmills of my Mind' is glorious.

MyNameIsAlexDrake · 26/03/2018 20:07

Wet wet wet - love is all around

Not the best track in the world but lots better than the original.

WhereTheFuckIsWonderWoman · 26/03/2018 20:10

😱 donttickle I can't tell you how envious I am 😩 I was desperately waiting for them to release their dates but we live in such an awkward part o the country and there's just no way we could make it to any of the places they're playing at 😓 Give Marshall my love 😍

Backingvocals · 26/03/2018 20:10

Shatners I love that Willie Nelson cover too - I really like the woman singing "you did, you did" to him as well.

NellyTimes · 26/03/2018 20:11

Pet Shop Boys - Always On My Mind
Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah

SellFridges · 26/03/2018 20:11

Yes Mrs Gloop! I came on to say Travis - Baby One More Time. King of covers and I believe the cover that prompted the Radio 1 Live Lounge trend.

We’re off to see them in the summer and I’m really hoping this will make the set.

DoctorTwo · 26/03/2018 20:11

Thank you @elliePhillips, you've made me a slightly cleverer person.

BellMcEnd · 26/03/2018 20:12

Backingvocals I love cover to cover with Robert Elms as well. They do some great songs. I totally agree that Simon and Garfunkel’s original Bridge Over Troubled Waters was the superior but I did like Aretha’s one too.

Another one to add to the list:-

Maxi Priest’s cover of Wild World is great although I do prefer the Cat Stevens original

SubsidisedVowels · 26/03/2018 20:14

It's all over now baby blue - Joan Baez

evilharpy · 26/03/2018 20:15

Someone said Melissa Etheridge's cover of Take a Little Piece of my Heart. Have tonsay I prefer Erma Franklin's version.

NellyTimes · 26/03/2018 20:16

Ooh and I love Jamelia's version of Numb on the Live Lounge
