- What did you think about the Stikins website? Did you think the website was user friendly?
I was given the order instructions to follow so didn't have too many issues but didn't really understand which name label layout would be best, single line or double and I didn't really have a good understanding of the number of characters to use and if its best to use capital letters or lower case. There was a diagram but as it wasn't true to size didn't help.
Only after submitting the order it shows a ask questions form which is too late as the order would have been submitted and paid for by this stage.
I feel the website needs to be simplified, and more transparent. It really doese need to be made clear what the labels are not suitable for or that they need to be stuck on the clothing care labels. Its not obvious if your new to using labels and you may not realise that they don't stick on everything! You can find the information but takes a bit of hunting.
- Were you pleased with the service you received? Why? Did the confirmation email provide you with all the information that you needed?
The confirmation email came quickly along with the answers to my query regarding the labels, but the information was too late as my order was submitted and I would not have been able to change anything based on the answers of what would work best. It was only by complete fluke and thankfully my childs name was not long that what I had submitted was clear and easy to read in the format I had chosen.
My order arrived fast and the confirmation email let me know when they were packing the labels and sending them out.
- When your order arrived, what did you think of the packaging and information enclosed?
It came in a flat envelope that fits through the letterbox which is good as no delivery issues. I almost didn't recognise that they were the labels as thought it may be more bulky but it was two sheets of stickers inside the envelope. Simple and easy to deliver.
I was mostly relieved that the labels were big enough and that the name was clearly visible.
You do need to consider with this product the number of characters of the name (anything over a certain number means the print will be smaller) also to consider if using lowercase or uppercase.
Uppercase can also use up more room making characters smaller.
I had no idea really but chose 2 lines for my label and my total number of characters was 11. (Anything 12 or more will effect the size of print etc)
I used lowercase with capital letter for the first letter of Name and Surname.
None of this was clear to me at the time of ordering so it was just by chance what I had selected came out ok. As these are a considered purchase I wouldn't have been happy if that was not the case.
- How easy was it to use the labels/put the labels onto clothes and other items? Were the instructions on how to do so clear and easy to follow?
Clear instructions and simple to follow the guidance. There are limitations on that the stickers can only be put onto the clothing care labels not directly onto fabrics. This however may not be ideal for garments that dont contain a care label or have a printed label only. Also agree that if your looking to see a name your likely to look inside the neck or collar for example not spend ages looking for the clothes care label further inside the garments if your garment has one! I really would like to see the labels being able to stick to socks also as thats definately something alot of parents would label.
The stickers are very easy to apply and it does recommend you allow 24 hours before washing, cleaning, using for full adhesion to take place.
- What did you stick the labels onto?
Pack lunch boxes, drinks bottle, coat, cap, hat, school bag, shoes , trainers, stationary, jumper, trousers, kit bag.
- How well did the print and labels survive throughout wear and after washing.
Its early days but so far very well. They look in tact and good as new. The labels are quite plastic in nature so was concerned they may cause irritation if using on garments.
I have been impressed with the labels used on the lunch boxes because they get washed alot and also wiped at school. They survived the soapy water and I ensure I don't scrub directly on the labels or lightly wipe over. The glue seems very adhesive and have not yet budged on the items I have used them on including shoes.
As long as you follow the guidlines on the best places to position them they seem to stay in place so far. The garment labels have also stayed in place after a few washes but unsure how many washes they will survive so will be interesting to see just how long they do last!
I really wasn't sure what to expect from these labels. My intial thought was that they are a considered purchase for the quantity. However I like the idea that they are meant to stick and be washed many times without comming off. After looking at reviews on the website there were alot of negative feedback and had I gone by the reviews only I would have unlikely to have purchased.
The biggest gripe from buyers seem to be that they dont stick or come off after a few washes. Also many were suprised they can't be used on socks without peeling off in the wash and these labels have got to be stuck to the clothing garment label not the fabric itself.
As a buyer I automatically think sticky labels should be able to stick where needed not still requiring a garment label to stick them onto.
However the labels I received seem to have plenty of adhesive on them, have bonded well onto the different items and the true test of time will I know if they survive further wash cycles but so far they have. I am impressed, they look smart and clear to read.
You soon find yourself labelling many items so the stickers go quick! I would like to see more labels and ideally a pack size of 100 not 60 for this price bracket.
