Multiple award winner Jim Parsons, who's best known for playing Sheldon Cooper in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, is in town to talk about his new film HOME.

Jim's going to be answering your questions direct to camera so now's your chance to get them down and line 'em up here. We'll select the best of the bunch and see what he has to say about The Big Bang Theory, HOME and all things quirky.

In his latest film, Jim will feature as the voice of Oh, a loveable misfit from another planet who lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people. An unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip (Rihanna) takes him on a series of comic adventures, and while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.

HOME will be released in cinemas across the UK on Friday 20th March 2015.

I'm also wondering why autism has never been mentioned? I heard that Sheldon's character is based on the famous teenager with autism, who is a genius, so why did the creators make a decision not to mention ASD? My son is on the spectrum, but not high-functioning, and it's only a minority of people on the spectrum who are particularly gifted, but I'm wondering whether you've met any of them?

fuzzpig · 19/02/2015 19:34

I first started watching BBT a few years ago when I'd just realised that I almost certainly have Aspergers. I know the show isn't blatant about it, but watching the show with Sheldon's quirks and him being such a loveable funny character REALLY helped me come to terms with this huge realisation, it honestly made a big difference at a very difficult time. When I was hating myself for having difficulty with stuff that everyone else seemed to take in their stride, I was able to see the funny side thanks to Sheldon :)

RosieCassMuggins · 19/02/2015 19:38

It has helped us in our family, too. When we were explaining to our dc that dh has Asperger traits, and how it affects his thinking, dd immediately said: "Oh, like Sheldon!"

We said, "Yes, exactly, just like Sheldon."

It's hard to express how helpful that was. But thanks, Sheldon. Thanks

Do you have any secrets to share about your fellow cast mates or something that happens behind the scenes? You are my hero, Jim. Thanks for being you

Just realised that there are an awful lot of posts about Sheldon on here and not so many about the film "Home"!

It looks excellent, I'm really looking forward to taking my boys to see it. Did you find yourself dancing to the music while your character Oh was dancing on screen?

Lurleene · 20/02/2015 10:23

Hi Jim,
My DS age 9 is very excited about watching 'Home' and loves the trailer. He wants to know:

'Is is harder being a voice actor than a normal actor?!' (His words).

CokeFan · 20/02/2015 13:58

DH and I are BBT fans. We'd like to know if you own a t shirt folding board like the one Sheldon uses?

(we bought one Blush)

FireflySerenity · 20/02/2015 15:36

I know you don't do science or comic books but is there anything you do have in common with Sheldon?

BeccaMumsnet · 20/02/2015 16:53

all the Ducks love you, Jim!

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/02/2015 19:38

My husband is like Sheldon's long lost twin. It gets very wearing at times. Would you be able to be Sheldon's room mate, without killing him, if he existed in real life? Grin

mamatron · 20/02/2015 20:25

We're huge TBBT fans!! And we can't wait to see Home. DD knew it was Sheldon/Jim's voice when she saw a trailer recently. Most of the questions we've thought of have already been asked here, so DD wants to know, 'If Sheldon were to change his name, what would he change it to?'
Looking forward to seeing the interview. Hope Jim answers our question.

ROARmeow · 21/02/2015 21:19

Hello Jim, we love you!

My kids - 5 year old son and 3 year old daughter - have made me show them the 'Home' Trailer every day for a week, and I expect it'll continue till it comes out in the cinema!

Do you like to watch yourself/hear yourself after you've filmed a show, film, programme? Or do you feel a sort of disconnect after you've finished?
