Multiple award winner Jim Parsons, who's best known for playing Sheldon Cooper in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory, is in town to talk about his new film HOME.

Jim's going to be answering your questions direct to camera so now's your chance to get them down and line 'em up here. We'll select the best of the bunch and see what he has to say about The Big Bang Theory, HOME and all things quirky.

In his latest film, Jim will feature as the voice of Oh, a loveable misfit from another planet who lands on Earth and finds himself on the run from his own people. An unlikely friendship with an adventurous girl named Tip (Rihanna) takes him on a series of comic adventures, and while he changes her planet and she changes his world, they discover the true meaning of the word HOME.

HOME will be released in cinemas across the UK on Friday 20th March 2015.

We are big TBBT fans, my five year old loves having the soft kitty song sung to him at bedtime. Do you find the song actually relaxing, where is the song from and how did it make it into TBBT?

mostlybarefoot · 17/02/2015 13:36

Ditto to the points and questions that RosieCassMuggins raised. Please Smile

MrsRayOfSunshine · 17/02/2015 13:37

I am a huge TBBT fan, love Sheldon and think you are fantastic! I would like to know if you have any similarities to Sheldon, especially his irrational fears Smile

myerssu · 17/02/2015 13:43

What are the top three things on your bucket list?

rubyslippers · 17/02/2015 13:46

I love TBBT as does my nearly 9 year old

Do you have a "spot" on your own sofa at home

His relationship with Amy is so brilliant - innocent yet with the bubbling undercurrent of her lust - how many times a day do you just want to howl with laughter?

Yes it's two questions, but it's JIM PARSONS

Hypotenuse · 17/02/2015 13:48

I love TBBT and you in it especially!

However, I wonder how you and Mayim react to the development of Amy's character. She began as a highly intelligent, solitary woman who only dated to appease her mother. Then she becomes a needy, desperate person, constantly craving sexual contact as well as validation from her friends. Why? It seems to suggest a sexualised woman is a thing of ridicule, and an intelligent woman can be reduced to ridicule just by meeting a man she finds attractive. It's the only part of the show I can't get on board with!

HRHsherlockssextoy · 17/02/2015 13:50

Jim, I think tbbt people are Heros! They make science and "nerds" brilliant. Would you like to play a regular character and do you have empathy for Sheldon?

liannekennedy2014 · 17/02/2015 13:52

Hi jim!
I loved you in elf the musical! Also loved your part in the Muppets and when you and TBBT cast did The Time Warp

Could you see yourself touring in any musicals around the world? Personally I'd love to see you in something like The little shop of horrors! Could you say hi to my son Taylor James Kennedy please it would make his whole year!
Thank you xxx

Thumbwitch · 17/02/2015 14:01

Hi Jim!
I absolutely love your work as Sheldon Cooper, you're so good at it - do you have any of these traits naturally yourself? Of course I know you're acting but I'm interested if you do feel in any way akin to Sheldon.

And you gave me the best moment of the film The Muppets when you showed up as Human Walter - I laughed out loud in the cinema in sheer delight! (no one else did, but then I'm not sure they recognised you, as it was a matinée performance)

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 17/02/2015 14:01

Looking forward to seeing HOME with the DDs!

Was this your first time doing an animated role, how was it different and did you enjoy it? What drew you to this role?

Can I also sneak in a TBBT question? Did you know that the show was recently someone's "specialist subject" on Mastermind? although you probably don't know what Mastermind is Sheldon would know, and get every question We got all the answers right - only time that has ever happened Grin

Thumbwitch · 17/02/2015 14:02

Oh damn, meant to mention that we're really looking forward to seeing Home as well - can't wait for it to open in Australia!

Stephaniechia73 · 17/02/2015 14:03

Jim,

  1. What is the trait that you feel you can relate to your character, "Oh", the most, and why?

OR

  1. If you could, what would you like say to yourany fans?

Thanks you, and I hope my question is chosen! Grin

Ooh this has to be one of the best mumsnet chats ever!

Hello Mr Parsons!

I would like to ask which Big Ban theory you would be friends with of they were real and why. Also if Sheldon was real would you personally be his friend? Thanks

askyfullofstars · 17/02/2015 14:07

I have a 4 year old son, who loves to do little singing shows and random re-enactments from things, at what age do you remember doing your first "performance" as a child (?), and did you think at that point, "this is for me".

askyfullofstars · 17/02/2015 14:07

*things he has seen (I can put a sentence together, really I can Grin )

Stephaniechia73 · 17/02/2015 14:10

*your many (I swear I can read and write!)Confused

HowCanIMissYouIfYouWontGoAway · 17/02/2015 14:17

Where do you see yourself in 10 years time? What sort of roles would you like to be playing?

Hopefully you'll be an actor till you drop Grin but do you have a 'backup' career and if so, what is it?

LSolak · 17/02/2015 14:20

Jim, What is your dream role on Broadway?

LSolak · 17/02/2015 14:23

I can't WAIT to see Home with my family!

What do you think you and Oh have in common?

~Lisa

coppertop · 17/02/2015 14:30

I love the trailer for HOME.

If you were given the chance to do the voice of any film/cartoon character (past or present), who would you choose and why?

Thanks. :)

furrybootsyefae · 17/02/2015 14:31

Hi Jim, massive Big Bang fan here too :o

As a child of the late 80's I was only vaguely aware of the full scale of the HIV/AIDS crisis and felt that The Normal Heart was not only emotional but also eye-opening to the way Gay men and women were treated by society at that time.

I'd like to know if you feel that society finally accepts and respects LGBT rights or do you think there is still a stigma attached?

HeyheyheyGoodbye · 17/02/2015 14:39

Hi Jim; I'm a big fan! I wonder how you got involved with the Muppet Movie and did that lead to your new role as Oh? I love the 'Man or a Muppet' song scene Grin

Ymamiss · 17/02/2015 14:41

Jim, who is your favourite TV comedy character and why?

AmpersandRea · 17/02/2015 14:43

Hi Jim,
Please sing Soft Kitty to me.

foslady · 17/02/2015 14:55

Jim, just about everything I can think that I'd want to ask you is here - other than would you ever look to do British Theatre? (a friend saw you on Broadway and said you were terrific!) (and if the answer is 'Yes' - London isn't that easy for us Northerners to get to!!!!)

PS - we have a lot of love for you over here x
