Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

Makes you wonder how many other threads are spoofs? Someone in MNHQ having a laugh on a boring day while we saps give input. Input which helps a site run. If you actually want people to use this website and contribute I suggest that you do not try and make fools of them.

DamnItJanet · 26/04/2011 12:03

So who do I report MNHQ to for trolling ?Shock Grin.

Valpollicella · 26/04/2011 12:03

Do you reckon Netmums will have us? It will be like a load of Anglican vicars decamping to The Other Church when they started ordaning women.

Do you reckon they let us swear over there?

MsIndependent · 26/04/2011 12:04

Hi Kate, congratulations in advance of Friday. My question is - do you and Prince William have a song for your first dance? If so, what song is it?

pinkthechaffinch · 26/04/2011 12:04

not funny- I told ds about it -was on the point of phoning my mum and telling her I'd asked a question-glad i didn't as I would have looked really stupid.

TragicallyHip · 26/04/2011 12:04

What's the dress like?? Grin

ZacharyQuack · 26/04/2011 12:04

Oi Helen, get back here for your kicking.

Al0uiseG · 26/04/2011 12:05

Grin Hilarious Grin

MmeSurvivedLent · 26/04/2011 12:05

Ok. I am not too bothered about it being a joke but it is sad that some posters got their children to ask a question. It did seem a bit far fetched but MN has had some very high profile webchat guests so not completely unbelievable.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 12:05

Oh please don't say this is a spoof. How mean Angry

culturemulcher · 26/04/2011 12:05

MN you're going to have to ban yourselves.

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 12:06

does Justine know about this tomfoolery?? or is she behind it??

happywheezer · 26/04/2011 12:06

Good afternoon Kate,
As you will potentially be Princess of Wales, are you/have you been learning any Welsh?!
My two year old is very excited about Friday but he doesn't know why!
He likes the adverts.
Have a wonderful day on Friday and congratulations!

notwavingjustironing · 26/04/2011 12:06

oh dear, the peasants are revolting.

So, do we report MNHQ trolling to JudgeFlounce?

orangina · 26/04/2011 12:06

Perhaps it has been reported as a spoof so it remains open to MNers and not the great unwashed hoardes of journalists who will fall on it....?

hobbgoblin · 26/04/2011 12:07

Don't be embarrassed everyone!

You can all turn it into a lesson on internet personal safety for the DC I guess.

Bit of a shame for the excited DC involved I must say but didn't we all post with enough doubt in our minds to not tell the DC?

BitOfFun · 26/04/2011 12:08

It wasn't ever really likely, was it? Still, at least it shows that people can be polite when they try to a webchat guest, even though many of us are republicans who don't give the tiniest shit

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 12:08

mn wouldnt want bad publicity about winding up forum users surely????

2littlegreenmonkeys · 26/04/2011 12:08

If this is true, well done MNHQ Smile, if not I think the naughty step is in order for you Grin

If it is true, I would like to congratulate Kate and William and hope they both have a fantastic day.

ZacharyQuack · 26/04/2011 12:09

So, what do we want from MNHQ as penance? Royal wedding emoticons?

GitAwfMayLend · 26/04/2011 12:09

I must say I was amazed that everyone was so nice.

We are not as much a bunch of cunts as people assume.

MardyBra · 26/04/2011 12:09

BoF - yep I even refrained from asking the questions I REALLY wanted to know.

sprinklingsparkles · 26/04/2011 12:10

Oh dear some people should get a grip, if it is a spoof then there is no use getting upset over it. run with it and have a laugh.

MNHQ ~ For what its worth, i thought it was funny.
