Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

GeneHuntsMistress · 26/04/2011 12:11

Im regretting my earlier sweary post to you MNHQ, so sorry for what I called you I was very angry

I'm just so disappointed in you. What did you hope to achieve by this, other than publicity at the expense of your members?

Valpollicella · 26/04/2011 12:11

And I refrained from asking about the virginity testing, and if they still carried it out in this day and age... Grin

HRHPrincessZombiePlan · 26/04/2011 12:12

oooh yes, good idea Zachary, royal wedding emoticons.

Can just imagine the biscuit wearing a tiara...

notwavingjustironing · 26/04/2011 12:12

Take the thread down now. Nothing to see here. Move along.......

readyornot22 · 26/04/2011 12:12

Can I come to your after wedding party (80s themed is it?!) I am 20 weeks pregnant, feeling old, frumpy and boring, and that would cheer me up a treat! [if you don't ask you don't get..] I am getting married next July!

Val, you should have. Nobody would have been thrown n the dungeons - I figured anyhow.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 12:13

Maybe MNHQ have invitations for the evening do to give away to the posters asking the best 5 questions...

insertfunnynicknamehere · 26/04/2011 12:13

I think its as likely as the PM or any other high pofile guest.

Its true to say that anyone who wants something in the UK gets the Mumsnetters on their side. It is influential particularly in politics. This new wave of Royals are increasingly trying to blur the line between them and you (I say you as I am Irish and not one of you!) It wouldnt be so hard to take the leap to say that a 30 minute q and a was approved.
Having asked an innoccuous question and not really caring about royalty and protocal (though still wishing luck as I would do to anyone getting married) I think it is a bit mean, particularly to those who are Royalists and asked their kids what to say.

IntergalacticHussy · 26/04/2011 12:13

Oh piss off MNHQ.

funny to see how noice we all became though.

hypocritical fuckers the lot of us.

DamnItJanet · 26/04/2011 12:13

I still want to know if she watched Will & Kate the movie, I cringed at the karoke bit.

expatinscotland · 26/04/2011 12:14

So, is this a wind up or not?

Psalmead · 26/04/2011 12:14

Poor show.

I had a great question. Not rude, not contraversial, but interesting and fun. And now no-one will ever know.

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 12:15

MNHQ.....someone come back and explain!!!!!!

they should be posting, winding us up further....why arent they??

brookeslay · 26/04/2011 12:15

All quiet at MNHQ I agree it could be a double bluff. Perhaps they should have a code word for official chats Fruitshoot ??

JustineMumsnet · 26/04/2011 12:16

Eek so sorry everyone who's cross - we meant this to be a fun spoof chat with our very own MNetter Kate who's coming on a bit later, but think we didn't quite ham it up enough. We are duly chastised and deeply sorry and will be self flagellating on the hour, every hour. Is there anything else we could do to atone? (Don't spose crown smileys would help?)

HRHPrincessZombiePlan · 26/04/2011 12:16

If it was real, they would have called her Catherine...

IslaValargeone · 26/04/2011 12:16

I hope the next 'real' booked guest doesn't get offended if noone on here takes the time for a webchat having had the piss taken this week.

I agree with Psammead.

MNHQ I'm up every 2 hours handfeeding the kittens and I'm very tired and now I feel all cross and huffy with you.

Boo :(
