Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

Spoof? How mean spirited Hmm Sad

Turniphead1 · 26/04/2011 11:58

Shame on you MN

StealthyKissBeartrayal · 26/04/2011 11:58

Hello and congratulations

As a Kate myself I am a little put out that a decision has been made that we couldn't have a 'Queen Kate', and you are now to be known as Catherine.
What do you think about that? Are you annoyed or happy to be Catherine?

Trinaluce · 26/04/2011 11:58

Your highness (get used to it Wink)

Firstly, congratulations. Regardless of the who and the where, this is going to be a very special day for you both and I wish you every happiness. I also hope some part of the wedding is what YOU want, not all etiquette and protocol.

Secondly - be honest, have you and your husband to be discussed baby names at all? It may be some time in the future, but I'd love to know if you've tried to slip in something with NO royal background at all.... Grin

Won't be on at 1pm as I'm off to work - but wow!

Hi Catherine

Good luck for Friday, we're an attraction in West Wales and we're encouraging our visitors to come dressed as princes and princess on Friday and we've laid on some street party style entertainment from our resident magician.

Are you a bit overwhelmed by how many people will be supporting and watching your big day? I know I was with just 120 friends and family!

Also, did you see the baby zebra in The Times newspaper which we named in honour of you? He was born last Wednesday and he's called Dakari Middleton (Dakari is Afrikaans for "Happiness" which we thought was rather fitting).

Enjoy your day with love from everyone in Pembrokeshire!

Magna · 26/04/2011 12:00

Not impressed Biscuit Sad

culturemulcher · 26/04/2011 12:00

Can I ask two questions?

If you are thinking about having children, what do you think about the possible changes to the rule of succession to the throne?

TandB · 26/04/2011 12:00

[Glad she started to type a question and then common sense re-asserted itself in a "Kate Middleton? On Mumsnet? Three days before she marries the heir to the throne" kind of way]

GeneHuntsMistress · 26/04/2011 12:00

I will be SO MAD if this is a flaming spoof.

Seriously, I will send Gene round to stamp on your toys MNHQ

Trinaluce · 26/04/2011 12:00

Spoof? BAD MN, BAD!

I agree, I'm off to the OTHER site on the net for mums....

Sunflowergirl2011 · 26/04/2011 12:00

Surely this isn't for real? It isn't April 1st again is it? But if it is true, OMG! And swoon.... If it isn't, shame on you MNHQ for getting everyone over excited! :)

And assuming it is.... we are having a party (well 2 actualy, street party and one at home to watch the wedding) on Friday - can you give us a food/snack suggestion and song we can play which i can tell everyone you have 'choosen'? Congratulations, I am soooooo excited about your big day and good luck. Enjoy every minute of it.

IslaValargeone · 26/04/2011 12:01

How shitty, another one with a very sad dd here.

fashionfacek · 26/04/2011 12:01

Hello Kate,
though my nickname is fashionfacek i won't ask about your dress i'd rather be surprised. My Question is, what song will your first dance be to?
Hope you reply.
Have a good day :D fashionfacek

WideWebWitch · 26/04/2011 12:01

I think it was reasonable to believe this: after all, the PM has been on MN as have many other famous and influential people.

And of course it will be reported so it gets MN press.

But it was very mean spirited and cynical, shame on you.

DirtyMartini · 26/04/2011 12:01

Bad MN

glastocat · 26/04/2011 12:02

Wow, look at you all fawning like mad! No way this is true! Grin

ExitPursuedByALamb · 26/04/2011 12:02

Thought so - what a shame. Hope you are proud of yourselves MNHQ

GitAwfMayLend · 26/04/2011 12:02

If this really is a spoof that is really bloody stupid MN.

GeneHuntsMistress · 26/04/2011 12:02

MNHQ what a bunch of cunts you are.

Yes I did just say that and yes I do fucking mean it.

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 12:02

I'm really looking forward to Friday, Kate (conveniently forgets long-standing objections to the monarchy Blush )

My question:

Would you have trusted William to go on Don't Tell the Bride?

I think you should have gone on Four Weddings - I'd have loved have seen the faces of the other competitors when you turned up to meet them Grin

PuzzleRocks · 26/04/2011 12:03

Oh. Poor show.
