Mumsnet webchats

STOP PRESS! Live pre-wedding webchat with our very own Kate Middleton, TODAY at 1pm

Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

My dd is just 8 and is very taken with the idea of marrying a prince if only for the dress tbh. She would like to know do you like dogs or cats best? Will you be having any pets of your own at the palace? And what sort of breeds do you like?
Many congratulations, hope your day is just perfect and your married life long and happy.

MNHQ - 1/10 if you're trolling.
11/10 if this is real. Grin

I don't think I can ask the questions I REALLY want to without appearing rude and controversial, so instead I'll just wish you lots of luck and happiness.

Wow wow wow

Catherine, I would like to wish you every happiness and also say that I was your age when I married, on Friday 30th April (1999) so I feel an affinity with your marriage and hope you will be as happy as we are.

My question - have you ever watched Princess Diaries? They are two of my gave films and watching the sequel on BBC1 last weekend I wondered if you were watching too Blush and the scene where she walks out and greets the crowds watching her wedding - my heart went out to you at how nerve wracking that must be

Sorry for going on a bit and good luck xxx

Wow what a scoop MNHQ!!

Well firstly a huge congratulations to you both Kate, Hope you have a fantastic day.

Sorry I'm not around at 1pm so my question to you has to be, What were your first impressions of William?? did you know he was "The One"???

I do love a good romance story and me and DD are very much looking forward to watching the wedding on Friday.
Oh and as a word of advice, as somebody said earlier never go to bed on an argument AND always learn how to say sorry.

Good luck to you both, I really wish you all the happiness :)

Dear Catherine

First, many congratulations! I wish you all the best in your marriage.

My question is: you've had to adjust to extraordinary fame, and I've heard that your wedding will be the most watched televised event ever. How do you cope with the changes fame has brought to your life? Do you miss aspects of your life before you came into the public eye.

Have a wonderful day on Friday.

Kate
Are you and William going to have any pets after you are married?
We are on Number 2 cat now. DH never wanted pets but loved me so much after we got married 25 years ago that he said out of the blue I could have a kitten who lived to 17!

Crikey. Good luck for Friday!

Another one here who wants to know if you watched William and Kate: The Movie? I did History of Art at university too and chortled a great deal at the 'lecture' scenes. ;)

Can't wait to see your dress! :)

Harry and Pippa? What are the chances?

Funny, I would have expected you to have chatted to the scullery maids/ walked the corgis/ folded your commemorative tea towels to while aware your spare hour between wedding preparations. But instead you choose to go online with mumsnet. Interesting, that.....

Hi Kate !

Are you looking forward to all the traveling involved in your new life as a Princess ? I hear you're going to Canada in July ?

And what do you think of the ideas of succession going to your eldest child, of whichever sex ? As a prospective mother wouldn't you feel that was fairer than as at present ?!

All the best for Friday !

Hi Catherine,

Firstly, BIG MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS

Secondly, how on earth are you going to manage to get any sleep the night before? It was difficult for me on the eve of my wedding, it must be a nightmare for you! Are the powers that be going to keep you busy to help calm the nerves, or do you have the evening to yourself?

thank you
supadupa

PS, You have no idea how excited i am about Friday. I am going to wear my tiara and EVERYTHING Grin

Dear Catherine,
I'm sure you're feeling as any new bride does, royal or not! Try to get some sleep, do not skip breakfast, lastly, remember what the day is all about! My question is, do you see yourself becoming a mother in the near(er!) future & what are your feelings on private education?
Congratulations!
