Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

@AnnieOnAMapleLeaf

Ok...where are our tiara smilies? I just read all of this thread hoping it could be real. I'm pissed off and only a tiara smiley will appease me!!!!!!

Ok..I'm not pissed off but I really want a tiara.

Ok, we're on it!

AitchTwoOh · 26/04/2011 14:15

oh, that's an unfortunate x-post with sn reference. although tbh i don't really see the relevance there, it was the parent who was fooled, surely?

capecath · 26/04/2011 14:15

How to ruin the integrity of a well-respected site in 1 hour. Well done. You've just lost a fan.

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 14:16

it did bof....someone posted to say her ds was upset. he fell for it. but never mind

BitOfFun · 26/04/2011 14:16

Lots of people merely suspended disbelief and hedged their bets, Aitch. Sorry, but you don't get to come in after about seven hundred posts and look like you know it all Grin

Yes, I thought Justine sent Spazza in as a crack troop.

dawntigga · 26/04/2011 14:17

I know but I'm impressed at the breadth and audacity of it all :)

how to ruin the reputation for being a site whose members have a gsoh, certainly. Grin

BitOfFun · 26/04/2011 14:18

I thought she said that she nearly mentioned it to him, Tiff, but was glad she didn't.

I hope all the kids missed the dragonbutter reference. I wouldn't let mibe anywhere near this place Grin

AitchTwoOh · 26/04/2011 14:19

lol, bof.Grin hedging bets the sane approach i think.

flooziesusie · 26/04/2011 14:19

fucking ACE MN, I especially liked all the whingers!! Brilliant!!! Read the lot and enjoyed the lot. Grin

DontdoitKatie · 26/04/2011 14:20

Well I'm glad that Mumsnet offered the opportunity to ask KM, whichever one she is, if it was a good idea to be propping up a heteropatriarchal institution like royal marriage. Not many sites you can do that on.
