Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener.

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

LadyCornyofSilk I thought it was brilliantly executed and the Archbishop of Canterbury looked terribly, terribly real. We are not planning any Michael Jackson tributes for the wedding though they do look great fun when we see them on Youtube.

Oh come on guys, to be a successful spoof it has to be realistic and not obviously fake. If we'd stopped to think how totally unlikely is it that Kate would have a spare hour at all this close to the day and even if she did that she'd choose to come on a MUMSNET webchat with no forward knowledge of the questions. As I said on an earlier post she's got the scullery maids to talk to and the corgis to walk if she's at a loss as to what to do.....

And for any journalists who think we're the fuckwits, then they'd better get deleting their twitter history because there were tweets and emails flying around between news desks checking up on the story...

I do wonder though why Fakey Katie hasn't been a little funnier and irreverential now she's here. Polite watie Katie style answers aren't really very amusing...

there were only 45 mins before they outed themselves with that first post... you know what they say... if you don't read the whole thread... (actually what is it they say?) gist is, it's tough tits if you don't read the thread i think. i think some of you are taking this surprisingly seriously. but then i have just been invited to the only street party in scotland so wonders will never cease.

Just goes to show how much faith us Mumsnetters have in Mumsnet. We truly believe that Justine can get KM in here for an hour in the middle of her wedding preparations. Mumsnet has superpowers.
