Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

Valpollicella · 26/04/2011 13:48

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 13:49

kategate will lose you some customers.....dont go emma!!

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 26/04/2011 13:51

Oh dear.

Oh dear, oh dear.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

[shakes head]

JustineMumsnet · 26/04/2011 13:51

@GeneHuntsMistress

Motherhood advice for you kate - don't use Mumsnet they openly deride their users

Eek - really was meant to be a joke/gag for us all to enjoy. Unfortunately we didn't get the execution quite right but it certainly wasn't meant to take the piss out of anyone.

gran1 · 26/04/2011 13:51

How on earth do you fit it all in and keep smiling?

VinegarTits · 26/04/2011 13:51

funniest thread ive been on in ages Grin

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:52

Now now, please do not be cross with Justine. I wanted to answer the questions emailed to me by PM. I'm afraid I can't respond directly to them but the answers are:

(1) To P - yes we do, on Friday nights naturally and yes I'm very happy with it.
(2) To A - Thank you but I do not need double glazing. Our marital home is listed so we'll just have to have thick curtains.

ZillahWhoDrankTooMuchGin · 26/04/2011 13:52

I think adding the 'our very own' was not the best move tbh - i've only just spotted this thread and thought..."well, obv a wind up" because of that.

DontdoitKatie · 26/04/2011 13:52

I don't think anybody looked like idiots. People were asking nice questions because it's someone getting married.

ZacharyQuack · 26/04/2011 13:52

Kate, can you put Justine back on please?

So Justine, how well do you think this has gone? Was it as fun as you thought it would be?

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:53

gran1 industrial stapler to inside of cheeks It's my job really. I have lots of help and I don't have to wash up afterwards. Anyway, surely in my position you would be happy and smiley? :)

thebestisyettocome · 26/04/2011 13:53

I honestly find it weird when people think it's funny when people are obviously upset Confused Hmm

MNHQ have admitted to getting the tone all wrong.

Merrylegs · 26/04/2011 13:53

Yeah. Kate, no offence but you are really boring. Justine back please....

AccioPinotGrigio · 26/04/2011 13:54

'How on earth do you fit it all in and keep smiling?'

Fnaaaar! I love a royal wang joke.

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:54

Valpollicella - Wow I was warned you'd be personal, but wow! Umm no as it happens. I've been accepted into my new family without question and they have all, without exception been delightful.

AitchTwoOh · 26/04/2011 13:54

How could any of you have thought this was for real when at 11.34 this morning 'misskatemiddleton' posted. "Testing, testing. Right, that's the dress sorted. Kentish Town, my good man..."

i mean, really?! this is how you think that she would post on a webchat? Grin

LadyCornyOfSilk · 26/04/2011 13:55

fakekate - what do you think of the T-mobile thing? Have they ruined everything for you now? No-one's going to be impressed with a thriller style first dance now really.

GeneHuntsMistress · 26/04/2011 13:56

Justine - as an earlier poster pointed out, if you had made it an obvious spoof (such as titling as is since you changed it) we could have all joined in the joke and thought it rather funny. Instead you treated it exactly as previous web chats, if I believed the PM was coming on here then why not a woman about to be married?

That aside, sorry again for the swearing at you, it was wrong of me to say that earlier. But I'm still sending Gene round for a little chat Wink

GitAwfMayLend · 26/04/2011 13:56

I never saw that Aitch Confused

theresapotatoundermysink · 26/04/2011 13:56

I shrieked with excitement when I saw this. Not cool mumsnet, not cool.

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:56

Aitch - ah my lovely friend has arrived.

Are you still coming on Friday or do you have to do the round up again?

BitOfFun · 26/04/2011 13:56

How did I not make a knob joke first? Angry

JustineMumsnet · 26/04/2011 13:57

@ILoveTIFFANY

added it in to make everyone look stupid you mean Justine!!!!

No, of course not! At the time people were saying do something because there are still folks not reading the thread - just the title - and posting real questions.

ZillahWhoDrankTooMuchGin · 26/04/2011 13:57

She's not giving up is she? Grin
