Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

Kate:

I have heard from different sources that both Andrew and Edward are gay.

Will you clear this up once and for all please?

vodkaandcoke · 26/04/2011 13:40

It has been funny and if it is upsetting people then they need to close it down and not read it!

AccioPinotGrigio · 26/04/2011 13:40

1/10 for this piss poor trolling.

Vive la republic.

yes, changing the title after people had posted.....low.......

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:41

I wanted to ask also: do you have any advice for me? I'm hoping to be a mum soon myself, and I'll need lots of help.

PatientGriselda · 26/04/2011 13:41

What was the original title?? I swear it's been the same one since 11.30.

DontdoitKatie · 26/04/2011 13:41

I'm thinking Mumsnet are hoping for the real Kate to come along one of these days so can't do too much mickey-taking.

Kate I'm going to send you a book by another Kate as a wedding present. Also Wifework - you make sure that William does his fair share, prince or no prince. Don't get trapped in the double shift. He should pick up his own pants.

And if you ever get the feeling you are hideously trapped in a situation not of your own making and stifled by a role you don't really understand, I'm sure Mumsnet www.mumsnet.com/Talk/relationships and Feminism will always be here to help.

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:42

VinegarTits He's partial to a custard cream. I'm more of a jammy dodger girl myself.

GentleOtter · 26/04/2011 13:43

Has the site been hacked? Confused

Julian Assange, step away from the computer.

ZacharyQuack · 26/04/2011 13:43

Kate - motherhood advice, don't let anyone tell you that you can't breastfeed in public.

VinegarTits · 26/04/2011 13:43

Stay on MN kate, best advice i can give Grin

and start an AIBU about BF v formula

GitAwfMayLend · 26/04/2011 13:44

Thing is, if you are going to do a spoof, make it spoofy so we can all be in on the joke. You know, like Private Eye.

Not write the title and OP exactly as you would if you had the prime minister on. Which makes peopke think it is true.

And then change it so anyone coming to look at it now looks at the thread title and thinks 'of COURSE it's a wind up, it is blatantly obvious' thus making us look like bigger wankers than we are.

Please can we have a [twat] emotiocon now Justine. I have been asking for one for years. You have said NO because it contravenes your no insult policy. However, since you blatantly now disregard your own troll policy.... Wink

lillybloom · 26/04/2011 13:44

I have no questions for you but one little piece of advice. On the wedding day take a moment to stop and look around you just to file in your memory as the rest of the day will be a whirlwind blur.
I wish you all the best in your upcoming marriage Kate.

VinegarTits · 26/04/2011 13:44

partial to a CC myself, jammy doggers get stuck in your teeth

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:44

Don'tdoitKatie - Thank you for the offer of books. I can understand your sentiments but really I am very, very happy to be with Will and he is very much an evolved man. I think he'll make a wonderful actively involved father too. :)

Emmanana · 26/04/2011 13:44

Major piss take. This leaves a bit of a nasty taste in the mouth. N'er mind, I'll vote with my feet for the rest of the day. Will log onto another site..

GeneHuntsMistress · 26/04/2011 13:45

Motherhood advice for you kate - don't use Mumsnet they openly deride their users

DontdoitKatie · 26/04/2011 13:45

Such happy news about Toffee Dodgers.

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:46

VinegarTits - Ah, now if you keep your jammy dodgers in the fridge they don't get stuck in your teeth as the jam goes crunchy and yummy.

Lilybloom - What a lovely sentiment - thank you.

FannyFifer · 26/04/2011 13:46

BRILLIANT well done MN.
You all made yourself look like eedjits really with all the lick arse, fawning questions.
Best thread ever!

JustineMumsnet · 26/04/2011 13:46

@PatientGriselda

What was the original title?? I swear it's been the same one since 11.30.

Yes we added in "our very own" this am as a few folks were still thinking it was real chat.

GeneHuntsMistress · 26/04/2011 13:47

Exactly what GetOrf said!

Hear hear I heart you Smile well said woman!

MissKateMiddleton · 26/04/2011 13:47

GeneHuntsMistress - but you've all been so sweet whenever I've namechanged and posted in relationships. Please don't think I haven't been through troubles and that it's all tiaras and Tunnocks Teacakes (yum). And I've been genuinely grateful for the advice, which is why I agreed to come back today. :)

DottyDot · 26/04/2011 13:48

but Justine don't you think that just makes it all look worse..?
