Hello. We're extremely honoured (and just a little bit over-excited) to announce that royal bride-to-be Kate Middleton is coming to MNHQ for a webchat today at 1pm.

A while back, we put in a formal request for Kate to take part in a Mumsnet webchat (nothing ventured, nothing gained and all that) but, truth be told, we weren't that hopeful, given her other pressing engagements this week.

But then, this morning, the Buckingham Palace Press Office rang to say Miss Middleton had some time this lunchtime between her last dress fitting and her first palace-balcony-etiquette briefing - and would be delighted to drop in and chat to Mumsnetters. Apparently, she's been lurking on Mumsnet quite a lot recently and has been finding the Bridezilla discussions a real eye opener. Shock

So, quick, please post your (suitably deferential) questions for Miss Middleton here - and join us for our very first royal webchat at 1pm.

Angry

ElfOnTheTopShelf · 26/04/2011 12:42

This kind of stuff is what makes me a little ashamed to belong to this site.

Bumperlicioso · 26/04/2011 12:42

Ever have one of those days where you wish you didn't get out of bed Justine? Grin

bluesky · 26/04/2011 12:42

this will backfire spectacularly

really stupid idea

LadyCornyOfSilk · 26/04/2011 12:42

reading the OP again ' palace-balcony-etiquette briefing ' does sound a bit Hmm
I've bunked off work for this MNHQ

IslaValargeone · 26/04/2011 12:43

And people are still posting questions, Oh Dear God, it's beyond embarrassing :o

kreecherlivesupstairs · 26/04/2011 12:43

Glad I am not remotely interested in the wedding. I could have made a complete fool of myself with virgin testing methods.
I agree with the others calling for the whole thing to be whisked away and deleted.

GypsyMoth · 26/04/2011 12:43

anyone been over to netmus yet to see if they are gloating....might go,er,permanently!

Bumperlicioso · 26/04/2011 12:44

You know tech is going to have to design a tiara smiley which will henceforth be the 'troll' signal.

curlyredhead · 26/04/2011 12:44

Hello!

As another St Andrews graduate who met her husband there, I firstly hope that your marriage is as happy as ours - 11.5 years and still very happy.

And on to the question: All Night Garage or All Night Bakery?:D

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 26/04/2011 12:44

Psammead do you think she's wearing some of those pink velour ones with the diamontes on them, spelling "Mrs Windsor"? A bit like these ?

MPCMum · 26/04/2011 12:44

Really ill-judged and poorly executed from MNHQ. They don't seem that sorry either, really, all a bit "whoops, sorry guv" with a cheeky grin.

JustineMumsnet · 26/04/2011 12:44

I know, we are epic failures today,

@BitOfFun

Ooh, and Tbe Daily Mail will have a headline "Mumsnet- The Backlash", and Justine will have to grovel in a very shamefaced fashion and they'll call her something mean and criticise her outfit.

Really, you walked into this!

I know, am total epic failure already today and I've not even had lunch... tell me about these kittens....

MardyBra · 26/04/2011 12:45

OK they've apologised. There's not much more MNHQ can do (well, chocs and freebies/kitten sponsorship aside).

'Twas not meant maliciously. Just one of those jokes that didn't quite work.

MPCMum · 26/04/2011 12:45

HIGNFY will be rolling in the aisles....

fivegomadindorset · 26/04/2011 12:45

Awful, all those MN'ers children who have asked questions, just plain awful of you. Nasty.

ViolaTricolor · 26/04/2011 12:45

LadyCorny the 'balcony etiquette' made me a bit Hmm. Presumably tongues are considered poor taste.

StealthyKissBeartrayal · 26/04/2011 12:45

oh come on people as spoofs go it's fairly harmless surely?
and she may well be a MNer and pop on this thread at 1pm to surprise us all - MNHQ most of all :)

IslaValargeone · 26/04/2011 12:46

We are being called dullards and muppets on other sites.

StealthyKissBeartrayal · 26/04/2011 12:46

"Really ill-judged and poorly executed from MNHQ. They don't seem that sorry either, really, all a bit "whoops, sorry guv" with a cheeky grin.
"
Well what did you expect? It was a harmless joke, not a malicious lie

matekiddleton · 26/04/2011 12:46

Kate, how do you feel about being the potential first Queen to have a (very respectable) degree?

Please continue to be yourself and I thank you for choosing to support an anti-bullying charity.

Mate K xxx

(PS. The Daily Fail will quote you out of all proportion, but we all know that)

Psammead · 26/04/2011 12:46

Jenai oh yes! They seem about right!

Mardy that's true! KateGate or MNHQ's royal fuck-up.

MardyBra · 26/04/2011 12:47

Stealthy - and everyone would shout wolf TROLL.

thebestisyettocome · 26/04/2011 12:48

What an awful trick Sad

I just hope nobody has changed their plans because of it.
