That's it really. We're running away and getting married by ourselves with the DC (you can't really call it eloping when it's Wakefield ) tomorrow afternoon.

We were going to accost people in the street and still will if this doesn't work but thought we'd give it a shot here.

We can offer you a free glass of bubbly in return

we did exactly the same thing only up in Cockermouth, also for next of kin reasons so I can dish out his organs should the need ever arise :-)

good luck, we had two complete strangers who turned out to be lovely and invited us back to their house for a bottle of bubbly they just happened to have chilling in the fridge! we chose well :-)

admylin · 30/06/2010 10:19

Congratulations!
Reminds me of my quick wedding. Dh had his work things with him so he could dash off back to work and when we asked an old friend to be witness (the night before) he said he didn't have time because of work but sent us his girlfriend who we didn't even know!

Our dc were 3 and 4 and enjoyed trying out all the empty chairs in the registrar office!

Gotta love MN for this sort of stuff. Congrats Robino, wish I was nearer too! Also wish our wedding was like this as that's how it started out but grew. You MUST let us know how it goes.

DelGirl · 30/06/2010 10:33

Apparently Wednesday is the luckiest day to get married and June is the luckiest month, so you couldn't really have planned this any better!!!

Best of luck this afternoon - I hope you have a lovely day!!!!!

laurielou · 30/06/2010 10:49

What a fantastic thread!!

Many CONGRATULATIONS, hope you all have a wonderful day.

RunawayWife · 30/06/2010 10:53

Have a wonderful wonderful day xx

CMOTdibbler · 30/06/2010 10:58

Have a great day - you may be doing it for legal reasons, but it's still a cause for celebration. Especially with randon MNetters in attendence !

AlCrowley · 30/06/2010 10:59

No fraud Robino. Just because you've had a happy past doesn't mean you don't deserve wishes for a happy future!

And I think we're all romantic enough for you both without you having to join in

glasgowlass · 30/06/2010 11:00

What a brilliant thread!

All the best on your wedding day! I shall have a wee glass of something sparkly this afternoon and a wee toast to you and soon to be Husband!

AlCrowley · 30/06/2010 11:00

Ha ha, a friend of mine has just Tweeted that she's just arrived in Wakefield. Tempted to see of she's free at 2.30

TrillianAstra · 30/06/2010 11:11

Congratulations!

(don't knwo where wakefield is, but love a wedding thread anyway)

YorkshireTeaDrinker · 30/06/2010 11:22

Congratulations Robino. Even if you don't think its that big a deal, it's still an affirmation of your life together so far and an indication that you and DP want that to continue in future. As AlCrowley ays, just cos you have had a happy past together, that doesn't mean we can't wish you more of the same and better in the future.

TheBossofMe · 30/06/2010 11:23

Ah - am smiling so much at this thread! Robino, Mr R and two mini-Rs - HUGE congratulations on your special day!

Katyathegringa · 30/06/2010 11:38

I have been watching this thread since u posted it, secretly wishing I lived in Wakefield (well, maybe just visiting) - massive congratulations for today.

alana39 · 30/06/2010 11:54

Have a lovely day Robino. We ran off and got married without family too, and it was great

robino · 30/06/2010 12:03

Never before has Wakefield been so in demand; all these people secretly wishing they lived there (or were at least visiting)
