That's it really. We're running away and getting married by ourselves with the DC (you can't really call it eloping when it's Wakefield ) tomorrow afternoon.

We were going to accost people in the street and still will if this doesn't work but thought we'd give it a shot here.

We can offer you a free glass of bubbly in return

daisyj · 02/07/2010 09:27

Well that'll serve me right for not checking MN for a few days! Congratulations, robino. Beautiful bride, handsome groom and adorable dds. Hope you'll continue to be very happy. x

What do I want knickers?! Moi? I'm hurt dear...can you tell?

MrsMeow · 03/07/2010 11:06

Oh I'm so glad it all worked out well! Fab photos as well - Robino you looked stunning and your DDs are beautiful

How lovely! Many congratulations to you both and well done to Knickers and Belle for being there!

Mumsnet at its best

robino · 03/07/2010 21:03

Knickers and Belle - I may have just accidently recommended you on another thread!

Well, our first visit to the unwitting in-laws on both sides occured today. The children didn't utter a peep! Not a sausage. So we didn't mention anything either.

OP posts:
AlCrowley · 03/07/2010 22:15

I was going to ask if you'd told the in-laws yet!

Didn't they notice the rings?

Are you going to tell them soon?

robino · 04/07/2010 08:50

Al - we don't have rings. For the day we used a beautiful one DH bought me years ago that I always wear on my middle finger; it's now back on my middle finger. Honestly the only remotely wedding-y thing about this is the fact that we had a registrar and two witnesses! Oh, and we have a certificate.

Don't think we have any intention of telling anybody. It'll just turn into a whole sea of "You ran away?", "but we didn't see you", "here, have a present", "what, you didn't even invite your mother?" and 3001 other complaints.

OP posts:
AlCrowley · 04/07/2010 13:41

Ah, for some reason, I had got it into my head that you were marrying to placate next-of-kin. Now I've re-read it, I realise it's to become next-of-kin!

Rings would be a give away wouldn't they.

A shameless bump to thank you all for cheering me up. This is the first time I've re-read the thread; have had a bit of a rough day and was facing another evening devoid of adult company (Mr Robino works away all week at the mo) - am feeling much cheerier now!

Oh, and as a wee update - the Robin Egg hatched 3 weeks ago and is now DD3!

FrogmellaMoonbeam · 18/04/2011 09:59

Just wanted to say a very belated congratulations as I missed it at the time which is a shame as I could have been there as we are on Kettlethorpe!!! I really wish DH and I had had the guts to do this 7yrs ago in the same place but you all looked wonderful your DD's are beautiful (and Im sure DD3 will be just as gorgeous!) and I cant quite believe Knickers actually wore Knickers on her head! (oops just had to change that from knockers on her head!)

FoundationGarmentsOnOnesHead · 26/04/2011 16:50

Oh congratulations Robino!
