That's it really. We're running away and getting married by ourselves with the DC (you can't really call it eloping when it's Wakefield ) tomorrow afternoon.

We were going to accost people in the street and still will if this doesn't work but thought we'd give it a shot here.

It is really wonderful to see people not fixating on a massive wedding but just determined to just get on with being together and expressing commitment to each other. Real lasting powerful love isn't about spending shedloads of money on a big bash, so that you have to put it off cos you can't afford everything from sugared almonds to fancy honeymoons. It is about the promises you make. And by doing it in the way that you have, with such spontaneity and invention you created a special wave of glee and warmth through mumsnet and beyond.
