I've just heard that Adrian the returning officer is about to announce the results of the Playmobil election......

I think he will be secretly thrilled but outwardly look composed and wave his mug at the adoring masses.

I have some lovely female candidates for the next election:

the witch from Hansel and Gretel
Mary
the paediatrician
the female pirate

There is going to be a feminist challenge next time round. Norman and all his blokey mates should watch out.
Their slogan will be something like 'Women - make policies not tea!'

that's my all-woman shortlist, in fact.

So which party will they represent then?

I nominate Playmobil Professor Brian Cox for PM. (He comes with the little family set look!)

The Playmobil Women's Liberation Party.
They are concerned about the way Playmobil women's liberation has gone backwards since the 1970s. Playmobil women used to be more similar to men. Now they feel pressurised into wearing make-up and many of them have had breast implants and wear restrictive clothing . For some of them, home life seems to have gone back to the Victorian era.

I would like to add Muriel the Camper Van Lady who represents the I Seem To Be Missing Two Of My Forks I Wonder If They Were That Noise In The Vacuum Cleaner Two Days Ago Party.

We have a Professor Brian Cox! In fact, I'm sure he voted at the polling station yesterday. But Norman is the PM this time - Brian Cox will have to stand in the next election.....

Our camper van lady is called Elizabeth. Not sure what party she represents though.

I had never noticed Prof Brian Cox. I am sure DD has that set (she certainly has one with a flipping annoying pushchair which disintegrates when you try and get the baby in or out of it - Maclaren would be proud of it) - I must hunt for the Prof in the "other" box

I think Mrs Christmas (standing for the Playmobil smug Aga owners party) could do better than her OH. And we have some female police officers who would definitely be up for state-funded breast reduction as an option.

I've drunk so much tea today in celebration that I need a wee. Just off to my Portaloo....

Ah, back now! I've been thinking about my cabinet - I reckon I need lots of cups, plentiful supplies of teabags and a spare kettle or two in it. What does everyone else think?

Norman - while you are re-furnishing your portacabin (I assume that will remain your HQ?) you will be needing a fridge for milk and maybe juice for non-tea drinkers (remember your manifesto promises of tolerance) this looks like what you need.

..and don't forget sugar. Lots of sugar for builders' tea. I can't find any of that, though

Thanks for your hot tips Stealth - I might be able to borrow the fridge from Bossy Ross's lifeboat station. I'm sure I can find some juice and milk from somewhere, but sugar... hmmm....

stealthsquiggle · 07/05/2010 18:31

Bossy Ross has a fridge? He never mentioned that in his manifesto

Actually he has two - his lifeboat station has living accommodation for the crew members (including kitchen with fridge) and also a self-contained flat for holidaymakers (to raise money for the lifeboats). This was possible after the RNLI extended the lifeboat station.....

He also has a cafe in his lifeboat station (again for fund-raising purposes). My mates and I can recommend it!

Norman is very tired after a hard day's campaigning, followed by a hard day's tea drinking partying, so he is off to bed now. But he thanks everyone who voted for him (and so do the other candidates even though they didn't win)
