How often does your OH think about the Roman Empire?

saw on Facebook a post saying that men think about the Roman Empire every day. The woman asked her husband and he said this was true and that he thinks about it daily. The comments was people asking their husbands how often they think about the Roman Empire with some very funny responses 😂

So, I’ll start .., I’ve just asked DH and he said “at least twice a week, why?”

I haven’t asked him but I can say with confidence that it’ll be 0.

DH said, "That's a very strange question!", when pressed, he said "rarely" 🤣

Me 'how often on average would you say you think about the Roman empire?'
DH 'ermmm infrequently'
Me 'can you define infrequently?'
DH 'ermm probably about once a month, unless I'm playing Rome Total war or it comes up on a podcast or something'.
Me 'I alway knew you were rubbish at bloking.'
DH 'have you hit the gin midweek?'
Me 'nope'

I do quote the ' infamy ' line sometimes at work

DH: Quite often, why?
I explained
DH: well of course, probably not every day though

DH said never.

He expanded his answer to say he very rarely thinks

I love how the ' Reginald Perrin ' books were called ' the fall and rise of Reginald Perrin ' instead of ' the rise and fall ' ( as in Roman Empire )

But he does listen to The Rest is History podcast and apparently they reference it a lot even if the episode is about something else

He said 'The Roman's?' Monty Python style then 'never'.

My dh was confused by the question, said rarely and then was as confused as me that people could be thinking of it so often.

Other than doing gladiator training to beef up, what are they thinking?

Surely the salad reference relates to Caesar Salad?!!

Lol mine said 'whenever I think of Italy' and since he loves Italian food, I'd infer several times a day!

I love history so several times a week for me, plus I work next to a Roman site couple times a week.

'I'm sparticus' and 'infamy' quotes do get used in our house!

I love the Romans as they gave us grapes ( and , eventually, wine )
Straight roads etc

Mine reckons twice a week. Although is currently reading a Roman history book and will watch documentaries which cause spikes in his thinking.
He also translates early modern Latin texts.

Hardly ever apparently but British Empire on a daily basis.

My DH says once or twice a year, at the most.

So the answer is 'fairly often'

About once a week.

Asked DH completely expecting a ‘never’… he said he thought about it today 😂 genuinely laughed for about 10 minutes
