Can I make ice cream from shrews?

The cats need a treat on a day like this. My boy cat looks very hot and bothered. Girl cat has brought us 4 shrews already and I found a mouse corpse behind the bin, which smells relatively fresh.

Do you think the cats would like it if I froze them, perhaps mixed with a bit of cream? I know they can't taste sugar, so I was thinking of boiling cream and leaving the shrews to infuse at that stage, then making a sugar-free traditional custard (albeit shrew flavoured) and putting that in the ice cream maker.

The shrews are already dead so I'm assuming IANBU.

I'm trying to feed my 5 month old to sleep and suppressing the laughter. It's actually good job you posted @Bwix got good advice re avoiding the shrews. I thoughy my DM was a mad cat lady but you're next level. IMHO I don't think cats would want anything freezer cold, I'm sure some food from fridge would be suffucent

Yes, given that cats were originally desert dwellers I'd be very surprised if they'd actually be interested in cold food.

Brilliant idea OP but perhaps shrew kebab might be better. Although, if they don't actually eat shrew, maybe mouse kebab might work.

I don't think you are supposed to give them frozen stuff? Something to do with it affecting the way they regulate temperature and it can actually cause them to overheat more. Cool water and a shady spot being made available is all that's needed.

Make them some nice cooling Gazratzo as well. Change things up a bit. Or some vole-a-vents.

Slave of anti cold anything feline here. Including all food stuffs, heat wave comfort items such as gel cool pads, freezer pads wrapped in a towel, cold water etc.
