To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

Oh god, yes deja vu moments. I had forgotten all about them.
They're brain scrambling moments.

In our new build house I went upstairs to find a huge card of earrings that I had recently bought from primark all taken off the card and laid out next to the backs 😱

I grew up in a haunted house that I then purchased after my dad died with my ex Dh.

I was terrified that it had followed me and my new Dh - luckily that was it ( for that house anyway).

We have a horrible wicker plantpot that belonged to the woman who lived in this house before us (and we think may have died here, she's certainly still about. We call her Zelda.). Every time we have tried to get rid of it, we can't. We even took it to the tip and put it in the domestic waste. When we got home it was still here. So, either there were two of the dratted things, OR we put something else in the bin, OR something happened that we can't explain. We've also tried putting it in the shed, and it just keeps resurfacing. And none of us are prone to those kind of pranks.

While walking through Piccadilly Circus soon after a breakup, I had a vivid vision that everything was going to be alright and someone would propose to me one day. Dated various people over the next couple of years. But then met one who turned out to be a keeper, and we had our first kiss in Piccadilly Circus.

It didn’t fully work out with him in the end so my vision didn’t entirely come true but I have always thought it was freaky!

The bread knife literally lifted itself out of the secure knife stand and threw itself on the kitchen counter towards me. I just stood staring at it for a good minute or two open mouthed.

When I was in my 20s, I travelled to New Orleans alone. I caught a bus to a tourist attraction in a woodland area. It started to get dark much faster than I had expected and I was really lost. I then noticed a man was following me. The faster I ran the faster he started to follow. I had now idea where I was and have always had a terrible sense of direction. I exited the woods and somehow ended up at the exact spot where the bus I needed was sitting and about to leave. The next bus wasn't for another 90 mins.

To this day I have no idea how I found the bus. The timing was just impeccable and I think saved my life. Not a normal glitch in the matrix story I know but one I always think of

I have an electric pencil sharpener- it’s my pride and joy. Being a teacher I sharpen a lot of pencils. One night couldn’t find it anywhere . Was livid thinking kids had taken it. Searched high and low and one day kids went away to their dads and I went to walk up the stairs and there it was sitting on the bottom stair. No way kids could have done it as I’d been up and down all day doing laundry etc. was very bizarre

Read an article about this sort if thing once. There was a woman who had a poltergeist in her house. Stuff would disappear. She found that if she said in a loud voice "I really need my car keys back please" and then left the house, when she came back the thing would be on the kitchen table ....every time. Very odd.
I lost loads of things in this way in my old flat, which also had audible breathing sounds in the bedroom. The items never showed up again, although I asked. All started when my now-husband moved in and when we moved out we went through everything… not a single missing item reappeared. Most annoying was a branded polo shirt I had for work at the time, which I had to wear when I staffed exhibitions. I had to ask for a new one.

Manager: well where’s your old one gone?
Me: … parallel universe?

I still wonder where they ended up.

I was walking through our town centre and spotted a plant shop that reminded me of someone….low and behold I bump into them, not seen them for 10+ years. A week later I was shopping and thought ‘imagine if I bump into Mary again’ walk into the shop and there’s Mary!

ShaneTheThird · 12/01/2022 23:03

I once worked nights in a care home. One night all the taps of the baths and sinks turned on full blast. All 4 of us carers heard it and ran to turn them off except when we got there they were off and completely dry.

KavvLar · 12/01/2022 23:03

Couldn’t find DDs gymnastics leotard one week which was odd in itself as it was always kept in the same place.

She had her lesson that evening so I drove out to a second hand shop during the day and picked her up a bright red leotard from there. Came home and it completely vanished, not in the car, bags, rang the shop and I hadn’t left it there, it was nowhere to be seen.

I normally wouldn’t have taken her without a leotard. I did, and we had a horrific roll over car accident on the way out there. I honestly believe something was trying to stop us going.

GrandmasCat · 12/01/2022 23:08

I came out of my house one day to find that every single car in the street was silver. There were about 20 of them.

Rubyupbeat · 12/01/2022 23:11

This happened a few months ago, I was doing bits in the kitchen, came out to go upstairs, on around the 6th step was a 1906 ha'penny, right in the middle on the carpet.
No one else in the house, the house only 30 odd years old so can't have been anywhere hidden away. Don't know why but it gave me the creeps.

Ryanstartedthefire2 · 12/01/2022 23:11

Maybe they were inside a fitted sheet. Wee socks could get trapped there

GrandmasCat · 12/01/2022 23:16

I was driving home with my sister on a dat that there was a huge red moon as I had never seen it.

We turned the corner into a street by a mall when we saw these 10-15 huge pinkish purple “bubbles” about 2 ft in diameter marching ahead in a straight line while floating up and down about 5ft from the floor covering in an empty area of the deliveries parking.

WeDontTalkAboutBruno · 12/01/2022 23:17

ill preface this by saying adult DS has a lot of lookalikes. It's a standing joke now. Tall, bearded types with short dark hair and glasses.

Went into Tesco with DH. DS had messaged me that he was also in there picking up a few bits so I started to walk the end of the aisles looking for him. Spotted him at the end of the first aisle, walked up only it wasn't him. Turned down the next and there was another bloke just like the first who also wasn't DS. By the end of the fourth aisle I was creased up laughing because I'd now seen four people who all old have passed for him.
When I eventually found him I was relaying this story when yet another walked by and we both did a double take.

I did say at the time there was clearly a glitch in the matrix. It's happened before though, people have sent me pictures from the crowds in the football on TV and it's not DS.

chipsarnie · 12/01/2022 23:17

A few years back I was walking down our East London high street at about 8pm on a summer evening, and a young woman pushing a pram stopped me and asked me if I'd "seen that aeroplane all on fire". She pointed at the sky - and sure enough, there was a large aeroplane (like a Boeing 777) trailing flames and smoke. We watched it for a few moments before it disappeared behind some tall buildings in the distance, but I could still see a long plume of smoke. It wasn't even very high up - and seemed to be flying in the direction of Stansted Airport. I rushed home and put the TV on, expecting a breaking news story. Nothing. There was nothing in online news, and I never heard another thing about it.

I think about this event a lot. I just can't make sense of it.

Ricecakes889 · 12/01/2022 23:17

Walking to work really early one morning, saw I guy I didn’t really know but used to say hi to years ago while we both did the school run. He was on a small field I walked past with his little boy (my sons friend) kicking a ball about. Really didn’t think anything of it strangely until I got to work then thought wtf my son is 22!! I did some research and he never had any more kids (looked exactly as I remembered my ds little friend looking so my rational self assumed a younger sibling) also the dad didn’t look any older come to think of it. He didn’t react to me but maybe didn’t see me anyway. It was really early too about 630 am. So strange .

HunterGatherer · 12/01/2022 23:19

About 28 years ago I had a student shadowing me at work for a week. At the end of the last day she gave me a Thank you card and a watercolour picture she had done of a little girl playing on a beach. She said "here's a picture of your future daughter".Confused
The child in her picture was blonde and I laughed as I'm dark haired and DH is mixed african/white heritage.
Yet years later we had a daughter and she is indeed the image of that watercolour. We even took a photo of her playing on a beach in Cornwall that is virtually identical to the painting.
So weird.

onemorerose · 12/01/2022 23:20

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles
There was a party that didn't happen and a Prime Minister didn't attend it, and then a bit later it turned out that the party had happened after all AND the Prime Minister had attended it but he hadn't realised that he had. Spooky.

This is so weird. Almost as if these people weren’t experiencing and living the same world as everyone else.

StripyHorse · 12/01/2022 23:20

@WhatTahw

The year I turned 43, my mum tuned 73, I was born in 1973 and she was born in 1943.
This is just quirky maths. I love it though! I never realised before.

My grandfather was born in 1919, my mum in 1949 and me in 1979.

When DM was 19, GF was 49. When I was 19, GF would have been 79. When I turn 49, DM will be 79.

Tangofandango · 12/01/2022 23:23

My mum was on holiday in the Greek Islands with my stepdad. They were standing in the sea, water about waist height, chatting to a man who was standing next to them. He suddenly bent down and picked something up from the sea bed.

“You’ve dropped your earring”, he said to my mum, holding out an identical earring to the ones she was wearing. She still had both earrings in.

HippoRaine · 12/01/2022 23:25

@419HLR

Had one a couple of weeks ago, was making myself a cup of tea then put the milk back in the fridge after using it. The doorbell rang so I answered it and when I came back to get my cup of tea the milk was beside my cup, thought it was weird but maybe I'd got distracted by the door and put it down instead of putting it away. Took it to the fridge, opened the door and there was the milk, i had 2 identical milks. We had definitely only bought one carton so I've no idea what happened.
I'm literally the anti-woo and only read these threads for entertainment but this just made me go "arrrrgh" out loud because it's so freaky!

Ahem, going to read the rest of the thread now Grin

FellaItzgerald · 12/01/2022 23:31

We are hopeless with keys.

I was in car 2 one night faffing around in the dark trying to organise myself and I dropped the key to car one. Finished putting something or other in my bag, went to pick up the key and it wasn't there.

Thought I'd leave it for now and look underneath the seat in daylight but it wasn't there.

We looked right through the car, mats out, etc, many times, had it valeted and never ever found it.

It crosses my mind occasionally and it was three years ago. So weird.

PriamFarrl · 12/01/2022 23:32

@Vampirethriller

I was once on my own in my family home, family were all on holiday and only I had keys. I was making jam. I came to put it in jars and couldn't find half the lids, so I left the lidless jars in the pantry and went to bed. Got up in the morning and all the lidless jars now had lids screwed on tight and in every jar was a dead spider.
Nope. Just a big old load of nope right there.
