To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

@butterpuffed

As a teenager there were several of us having a seance . Someone asked if there was a God. The wine glass shot off the table, shattered in mid air, and the pieces fell to the floor.

Still remember it to this day.

So...that's a 'no' then? 😈

I have another; my mum has a very old Hei-tiki necklace a friend bought her from New Zealand (it must be 55 years old). Anyway my mum gave it to me when I was TTC, as we had been having fertility treatment. I used to keep the Hei-tiki in my purse throughout my pregnancy as a protective symbol. After I had DD1 and was on maternity leave we decided to have a bit of a clear out and I got rid of old clothes/bags etc.
Several months ago I woke up in a cold sweat that I hasn't seen the Hei-Tiki for about 10 years and concluded that it had been thrown out in one of my old handbags. I was dreading having to tell my mum.
Just before Christmas I was looking for something in the drawer of my dressing table and opened it a bit wider than I usually would. Just casually lying there was the Hei-Tiki. I have definitely been through that drawer multiple times over the last 10 years.
Weirdest thing was when I told my mum the whole story she went a bit white and told me that she had also 'lost' the Hei-Tiki when her and my dad had gone on their honeymoon. She had turned the hotel room inside out looking for it and on the day they were due to fly home she found it sat on top of their passports in a drawer.

Last year me and my husband were in the front room husband had a bottle of beer he must have left the lid on the counter in the kitchen (it's a kitchen dinning area). We heard a bottle top ping of the floor we went in and the bottle top was spinning in the middle of the floor it wasn't the type of distance that it would of just fell! Or even rolled especially with it been jaggers edges. We came to the conclusion it was obviously pushed by something Grin.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 12/01/2022 14:33

There was a party that didn't happen and a Prime Minister didn't attend it, and then a bit later it turned out that the party had happened after all AND the Prime Minister had attended it but he hadn't realised that he had. Spooky.

Years ago I had a big thing for statement necklaces. I had a big black Perspex monstrosity that I was wearing one time when I visited my sister.
I was sat on her sofa mid chat when my necklace just broke on one side and slipped off my neck onto the floor. My DBIL saw me pick it up and we examined it to see where the break was and the chain seemed to be snapped at the front near the first Perspex stalactite.
He nipped to the kitchen to get some small pliers to fix it so I put it on the table. When we picked it back up it was completely fixed and nothing wrong with it! We couldn't believe it. Just had to laugh because we both knew we had seen it was broken.

humblesims · 12/01/2022 14:35

I was listening to music in the car through Spotify. Arrived at home and unplugged by phone from the car, so it reverted back to the radio. The exact song I was listening to on Spotify picked up at exactly the same point on the radio. I double checked I had definitely unplugged the phone. I had. So weird

Once when I was out jogging with headphones in I stopped on the kerb before crossing a road to let a car by and it was blaring out the same tune at exactly the same point as what was in my headphones.

forlornlorna · 12/01/2022 14:36

@IntermittentParps I get that. But I'm epileptic and it's a symptom. Freaks me out still

Theforest · 12/01/2022 14:36

When I was a teenager in my bedroom, I was getting ready to go out and my curtains flew up into the air.

I remember running downstairs telling my parents but there was no explanation. No windows open. No bad weather. No naughty sibling there. Just weirdness.

HerRoyalHappiness · 12/01/2022 14:37

I was on a fairground ride with my mum and brother. My brothers restraint came loose and my mum had to hold him on the ride until they finally noticed and stopped it.
No one but me remembers me being there. They acknowledge it happened but swear I wasn't there. I was and I was crying, panicking about my brother . The only explanation I can think of is a glitch in the matrix. In my timeline I was their, in theirs I wasn't

HerRoyalHappiness · 12/01/2022 14:37

I've had a few but one that still boggles my mind happened a few years ago. My husband came home from work upset because he had lost his wedding ring, he never takes it off except to shower so we figured it must have slipped off somehow. He was frantically looking for it and we turned the house upside down, we even went back to his work to search the car park but with no luck.

He said he remembered having it on because he fidgets with it when he's anxious and he'd had a job interview that day so he'd been especially anxious. Anyway.... later that day I was in the kitchen alone when I heard the sound of something hitting the floor, I turn around and right there on the floor a couple of feet away was his wedding ring, it was as if it had just appeared out of thin air.

I had a time warp. I undertook the same journey frequently. 45 mins door to door.Ruralish route, only 1 way to go.
Except once it took me 30 mins, which is physically impossible. I checked my phone, text message half an hour earlier to friend to say I'm leaving. Checked time on phone against watch and radio. It's not physically possible for me to have done it in the time. Still mystified.

I didn't know it was an epilepsy thing! (I don't have it). Must be freaky.

A few years ago at home I misplaced a full make up bag. It was a bag I never took anywhere with me and was quite bulky. For example, if I was going to the office or going out for the evening the only thing I ever take with me is lipstick. I never shower at the gym, I come home and do it here. So it's not normal for me to carry lots of make up around. It stayed on my dressing table and I would decant bits in to a smaller bag if I was going away and wanted to take some make up with me. It was full of really nice products, some quite new Charlotte Tilbury items and Bobbi Brown things that were probably about £200 worth. I put it on the table, then went out for the day. When I got back it was nowhere to be found. I turned the house upside down, went through the bin bags, blamed the DC and DP, pulled contents out of all the drawers and cupboards. Looked under beds, in beds, in places it literally wouldn't fit. To this day I still wonder what happened to it. I've never lost anything else like that. Have never lost my keys, or my phone, or my handbag. I never lose anything ever!!!

eagerlywaitingfor · 12/01/2022 14:41

I woke up yesterday morning and had absolutely no idea what day it was. None whatsoever. A complete and utter blank. Even when DH told me it was Tuesday, it took a good 5 minutes to sink in, to remember that the previous day had indeed been Monday, and what I'd done that day.

TinaYouFatLard · 12/01/2022 14:45

I was driving away from football training with DS1 one evening - very insignificant. While leaving the car park we waved to a friend of DS and his dad who were just getting in their car. We drove about half a mile before pulling up at a set of traffic lights and the friend and dad were stopped right in front of us. They had a one-off number plate so it was definitely them, and there was no other route to get there. They hadn’t overtaken us. Weird.

stuckinagut · 12/01/2022 14:48

When I was in my teens I had what I would describe as my only 'premonition' in life. I'd left my PE kit on the school bus one day. The next morning when I realized, I had a clear picture in my head of a friend of mine, standing at the front of the bus, holding up my PE bag that she'd found in the bus. It was a very clear 'vision' because my PE kit was in a Tesco bag and our school bus was an old coach that went around a preset route to pick up children. My friend always got on the bus at the stop before me so she found my PE kit, stood at the front of the coach in the big window and held it up in the window for me to see while the bus was still coming along the road to my stop (pre-seatbelt days!). So in my vision I could see that she had found it.

The next morning, that is EXACTLY what happened!!

Chattydoll · 12/01/2022 14:49

I was in a car park that has several levels and you have to drive up a spiral to reach each floor. As I was driving around the spirals (heading for the top floor) there was a seagull sat on the exact same spot of each level. It was so utterly bizarre and honestly did make me question the matrix theory.

You should read Mrs Todd's Shortcut, a short story by Stephen King. Even if you're not into horror, give it a try... I guarantee you'll love it!

I have one that is so weird I actually can't think about it too long or I find it really scary.

Years ago, I had a signed photo of Andi Peters and Ed the Duck. It was when I was a young child- I left it at my Mum's house in the loft with childhood stuff when I went to uni. My mum then left that house, and moved in with my stepdad at his house- I never had a room there, and the boxes of my childhood stuff were never unpacked. In the meantime, I lived in 4 seperate towns - before my current town. I haven't been back much to the house since she died 9 years ago (a family member still lives there so we haven't cleared the loft yet)
2 years ago, in a laundry bag bought about 3 years ago in my current town- which has never been anywhere but my current house- I found my signed picture at the bottom of it one day.
I have RACKED my brains how it could have got there- It is definitely mine- I have a fairly unusual name and it has the same folded corner.
There is LITERALLY no way it could have got there- I have no old childhood books it could have been in and fallen out of - I haven't got anything out of that loft EVER

I actually accused my sister of playing a joke and we both ended up in tears- I found it so scary as it was a totally impossible thing

I sometimes walk across towards my car humming a tune, only to get in the car, switch the radio on and find that the song is playing on the radio. I'm humming at the exact same point.

It's happened too often to be a coincidence.

I was walking along a straight road around 1pm. Loads of Birds (I think swallows) singing like mad in the massive trees that line this particular road. There are only about 6 of these trees spread out about 10-15 feet apart or so and there were birds in every tree. They line the opposite side of the road that I was walking on so no worries about a bird pooping on my head or anything. The sun was shining very and the road was very quiet. No one else around but me. Found myself thinking how lovely walked past 2 trees birds still singing away happily get to the third and all of a sudden dead silence. They all stopped at the exact same time. Not a peep from any of the birds, look up and they haven’t flown off or anything. It was so eerily quiet at 1pm in the afternoon! As soon as I get to the fourth tree they start singing again!

DH and were both members of the same gym and both had membership cards. I always kept mine in my wallet in the same place and DH kept his in his wallet in the same place.
One day we went to the gym and when I got there my membership card was missing.
DH took his out of his wallet and it was mine. We never found his card.
