To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

Ah, @LaPufalina, mystery solved! Thank you!

Several years ago my husband and I went camping near Chichester. Just down the road was a lovely old pub and at the end of each day, we would go there for dinner.

On about our third evening we went in and the place was packed with famous faces. Danny Devito was sitting up at the bar. Marilyn Monroe was chatting to Audrey Hepburn and Anthony Perkins (Psycho) who was serving drinks behind the bar with Bet Lynch, and multiple other 'faces' were in and around the pub.

We got the giggles - before we had even had a drink - and the more faces we recognised, the funnier we found it.

At one point, Danny Devito told us we looked like a fun couple, and invited us to a party at a big house down the road.

We left the pub after a couple of hours and after walking up the road for a while, the giggles wore off and we were left wondering if we'd somehow entered the Twilight Zone for a while.

We did actually see a big house across the fields, all lit up and with music playing, and were sooo tempted to go to the party.... but talked ourselves out of it.

We later tried to find out if there had been some sort of Lookalike Agency get together, which would have explained it, but never did get to the bottom of what we experienced. We often talk about it - and really regret not going to that party!

I was once studying for an essay at uni. Had my text book open on my desk. Went to make a coffee (kettle in my room so just had to fill it down the hall. Cam back text book was gone. At the end of summer term I leaned out of my window and found it in the guttering. But it was a big, heavy textbook. It can't have wafted from the desk out of the window and into the gutter. No one was around. I'd have seen them come or go from my room.

@MissHoney85

I've had a couple of occasions where I've seen a complete stranger in two entirely different locations within a couple of days. E.g. I saw someone on a crowded train (a good looking enough man that I spent some time gazing at him!) and then again a coupe of days later in an entirely different location, nowhere near the start or end point of the train journey. That kind of thing has happened to me a couple of times and makes me feel like I'm in a Truman show type thing with a limited number of extras.
I think it's that you noticed him so when you saw him again you remembered him. It probably happens more often than we realise but we usually don't remember seeing them the first time.
brainflake · 12/01/2022 21:31

Once daydreamed whilst in a long queue in Woolworths that I got followed home by a creepy young looking James nesbitt. Confused
The next day I went to a shopping centre, went to bus station and a dark haired weird man from my day dream was staring at me. I walked away and got on my bus. As I was getting off the bus I noticed the man on my bus staring at me through the window
Freaky! Especially as I never saw him get on the bus

thedarkling · 12/01/2022 21:32

I had something weird happen when I was 9 or 10, was at a friends house and I clearly remember sort of snapping awake in another part of the house with no recollection of how I'd got there. Almost felt like switching from one life to another, like I'd been in a dream of life up to them and had just woken up.

In hindsight I think I was probably sleepwalking but it's the only time I've done it.

When our children were younger (all adults now) we went on a camping holiday in Cornwall. As our eldest was 17 we commented that this would be our last holiday all together as eldest had plans to go away with friends the following year once she was 18. We lost our first baby very sadly but will never forget them. It was very cold in the tent so husband and I wore socks in the sleeping bag, the next morning one sock each had come off from opposite feet. The shop we bought pasties from gave us 7 pasties in the bag instead of the 6 we asked for and later in the week at a cafe we were given 7 glasses to go with the jug of fresh juice we ordered. Probably a fluke, but we like to think that it was our little one who had joined us on our last full family holiday too.

TheChip · 12/01/2022 21:38

Another strange one, not so much a glitch, but odd connection of sorts. My son was playing with his friends outside of the house. As I'm watching, I say to my bf at the time "I think ill give x a £1 for the shop and ask him to get me milk" as soon as I said that, ds lifted his head up, stopped what he was doing and then ran into the house asking if he could go to the shop. It was as if I telepathically sent a message to him Grin

I love this. Whether it's your projection or not, it is a lovely way to think about your lost child.

Noting major comes to mind, although if I had , had an, moment worthy of an x, files, I realised that would be better kept between me and the event.

Other than that, noting mainly that I can think of, apart from at times I can be thinking of a person and not seen them for ages, then e.g. Go to town a day or two after and randomly the person walks past, that at times has been certainly odd. Or sometimes I get a gut feeling then the feeling is confirmed as correct, not always but more often than I allow for chance at times.

LondonBus38 · 12/01/2022 21:42

TedImgoingmad were the horses all black? If so likely the Household Cavalry. I lived in central London towards St John's Wood and this was something I'd see several times a year, very early in the mornings

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 12/01/2022 21:42

Tavimama's story reminds me of the time that a friend and I treated ourselves to a nice lunch with our DSs who were both around 11 or 12 months old, so about 17 years ago. We walked to the restaurant and had a lovely lunch with a couple of glasses of wine, then got on the DLR to go home. In the same carriage with us was Orlando Bloom, the footballer with the buck teeth and the funny haircut (all shaved off except a rectangle at the front) and one other famous person who's name I've completely forgotten. They were sort of together, sitting in the same carriage section but with an empty seat between them. I firstly assumed that I was imagining things because of the wine, then I assumed that there was some sort of look-alike agency somewhere nearby.

coffeepleeease · 12/01/2022 21:42

A few weeks ago I was thinking of a friend who I hadn't spoken too for months, how I must text her and make a plan to meet up soon. My phone pinged and it was her. Freaked me out so much!

Moonface88 · 12/01/2022 21:43

I lived in a small village in the scottish highlands for a year (about 500 residents) in that village there was 2 women, born in the same year, who shared the same first name. One was born with 1 kidney and the other was born with 3 😱

MadisonAvenue · 12/01/2022 21:46

One of them is of being in my Auntie and Uncles back garden with my cousins and a huge aeroplane flew right over head, so low it was like standing at the end of. Runway and deafeningly loud. The nearest airport was Manchester over an hour away in the opposite direction.

I had an experience like that one morning while walking my sons to school. We were walking along the road towards the school, it’s a tree lined residential road and ahead of us what looked like a military plane flew very low seemingly just a little higher than the trees. It wasn’t a fighter plane, but was a deep khaki green colour, like a small passenger plane. I clearly remember stopping and saying oh my God, because it looked like it was going to crash land on or near to the school and I was just waiting for the explosion, I was shaking. Absolutely nothing happened and a few yards further along we reached a part of the road where we could see the direction it had been heading in and there was no sign of it in the sky.
We’re around 15 miles from an RAF base but it was far too low to be approaching there.

I have this with my mum. We both get a sudden thought in our head like "I should call DM/DD" and the other will immediately be calling.

She's the least woo person ever but often feels when something is wrong with any of us.

Toocoldtocamp · 12/01/2022 21:46

As time goes on I get more and more convinced of time slips. And even simulation.
I've actually had 2 or 3 perhaps more events that would fit into the category.
One was so scary at the time that I get chills even thinking about it. I've told it on here before.
Driving on a rural road I distinctly see a car at a junction ahead about 200 metres away. I'm drawn to it because it has the side caved in as its been in a side collision crash. Then just as we get to it the car pulls out suddenly right into my lane and I have to swerve over the road to avoid hitting it. If I hadn't had seen the big dent I'd not have been paying attention to it at all and would have hit it. Just me and toddler DS in car.... Except there was no dent in the other car. The car wasn't damaged. I checked in my mirror when we stopped at the t-junction Shook me up no end.

I had one where DP and I went to a country pub. Except after we went we heard the pub was closed down for winter and not open. Even checked online. But we went there. We'd booked a table too over the phone. We both kept wondering if it just been another pub on the same road. We checked but couldn't find one. It was so puzzling.
We hadn't even stayed long. There'd been a horrible fight in the car park as we'd left too. Like it was being acted out. The whole place was so strange and a very odd vibe/odd clientele. I can't explain it at all. It was so real it can't be ghosts but then also it was closed down.

Several other incidents - and I think people think its fake memories....
An example is my friend and I definitely got in John Warboys cab. But we didn't accept the champagne and got dropped off together.. when we tell people no one believes us. But I expect he must have tried with thousands of women. It's not a false memory as we both have it. But then its so strange we do.

I quite often think things have happened already then they do happen. Not major international things. Just ordinary things. Like time shifting or being part of a game.
When my DS was born I looked into his eyes and knew something wasn't right. Took 10 years to diagnose he was Autistic. You can't tell by looking at him of course and we had no idea for many years ourselves. Except I very vividly remember looking at him in hospital after he was born and thinking it. I can recall the moment. I think very visually anyway and I often visualise events before they happen. I have to stop now as its freaking me out thinking about it!
(I also have a similar experience to the OP who found their way home in a strange city with no real explanation. It happened to me when I was doing Camp America aged 21.
I drove for 45 mins in windy countryside in a borrowed car following another colleagues car to an isolated house (owned by an American colleagues parents). There was a party. I didnt want to stay...so left after an hour or so. I'd only been in US for a few weeks.
Next thing I know I'm back at my own accommodation. No recollection of driving home or how I found my way. It was rural United states and pitch black 3am (stupid hey!). Literally no memory at all. (No drink/drugs etc). Freaky or good luck?

NicLondon1 · 12/01/2022 21:50

I was at a party and chatting to a gorgeous charming man... I then turned to somebody (tipsy), and said "I think I've just met the man I am going to marry!"
Of course I never heard from the charmer again - but I did end up marrying the guy I'd said that to!

MinnieJackson · 12/01/2022 21:51

Years ago I was out shopping with dh and had this sudden, almighty feeling that something was wrong at home. Like a sense of impending doom. We left town and drove home (took about half an hour). Got in, walked into the lounge and the carpet was smoking! Id left a make-up mirror on the floor and the sun had been reflecting off it through the patio doors. It stunk and went into a weird gluey blob, then rock hard.

Aw, that's lovely, and what you said was literally true! 😍
Toocoldtocamp · 12/01/2022 21:54

I had a friend at university who saw a similar ufo thing to OP with her mum.
They lived quite near Uxbridge and there's a RAF base there. It was a park in Uxbridge. I think a lot of these things are Drones or military equipment (why loads of sightings near Andover and places with military connections...even in US its the same)...

Army military aircraft can and do fly quite low. Weve had some fly over us. I assume they have to train this way.

(I have been on a flight that had to jettison fuel as they thought we might crash land due to landing gear issues or something ... that was terrifying. They flew really low... they managed to fix it.... we knew something was up but they didn't tell us until we landed and even then not details!

I had gone to Liverpool for the weekend with my partner. I don’t drink so was totally sober. He was drunk. We left the cavern club (we were being touristy) at 1.30 or 2 and our hotel was two streets away so at most a ten minute walk with a drunk. We didn’t get in until half three. We went straight there without stopping. It was all very strange. I joke we were abducted by aliens but a glitch in the matrix might account for it
Weirdly, there are several stories of time slips in Liverpool over the years.

I also had the same thing! I had my make up bag at work, brought it home and I took a lip balm out of it in the evening. It was gone in the morning. Never found it again.

Strangest one though was when I was 14, I went to a party with some friends. We got ready at mine and then I locked the door and we got the bus. I had to call another friend from the bus and at the time, I was the only one with a mobile. Later, her dad came to collect us to take us home. It was then I realised that I'd left my bag. I was a bit worked up because it had my house key and btcellnet (you know the one) phone in it.
Anyway, i got home and had to knock to get my mum to let me in. When I went into my room, the bag was on my bed, phone and keys inside it. I've never worked it out. [/quote]
Is there some sort of makeup/wash bag stealing pixie? I’ve had this too. On a train. Rarely take such bags but was travelling - was a wash bag with mix of makeup and (expensive!) creams etc. The whole bag disappeared into thin air. No one would have stolen it (a) because few people on train (b) I was with my DH and (c) the things in my bag were useless to anyone else - creams were opened etc.

There is a Stephan King ( I think it’s one of his) about a town like this and let’s just say I think it was a good idea NOT to go to that party...
