To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

I saw my desk chair (non-wheely) move 1 foot forward by its own accord.

So creepy

Lots but pretty much all explained by ADHD and object permanence issues.

Not a glitch but a weird UFO one.
1990, the early morning before an A level exam, my mum came into my bedroom and woke me up really urgently telling me to come outside. I went down and most of the residents of our street were all staring up at this bright, spinning rugby ball-shaped thing in the sky above our houses. It was massive and covering half the houses. I completely crapped myself and ran back inside while they all just stood there open -mouthed for ages.
Next day, my mum told me a police man had knocked on our door at lunchtime to tell her not to worry about what we’d seen - it was a police helicopter exercise.
I have never seen an enormous, spinning police helicopter before. It was totally silent too.
It was the talk of the street - neighbours phoned our local radio station and one called the newspaper but there was never anything written about it. Not so much as a jokey mention of local yokels getting themselves confused with ‘copters and UFOs.
I have trawled the internet to see if anything has been written about it - can’t find one single mention.
Still intrigues me today.

Many years ago when the DC were babies, their tiny socks would go missing in the washing machine - usually one of a pair. We were moving house 7 years later and I was doing one last load of laundry. When I was taking the wet clothes out of the machine, there were the missing baby socks! At first I thought they had gotten stuck somewhere in the machine for 7 years, then I remembered we got rid of the old washer and bought a new one the year before.

When we were at university, my now-husband put his glasses down on the bed. They fell down the side and were never seen again. We checked everywhere. There was nothing under the bed at all, they weren't caught up in the bedding, there were no gaps between the floorboards and the wall, they just vanished.

My arm of my glasses had a loose screw and the arm came off. Screwed it back in but not tightly enough. I took them off at bedtime and put them on the bedside drawers. In the morning the glasses were there, but the screw had come out and was lying there next to them, but the arm had gone. I thought it must have fallen behind or inside the drawers. No. I emptied the drawers, looked under the bed, stripped the bed, lifted the mattress, pulled out all the furniture, checked the entire bedroom, even the opposite side of the room. But nothing. I never found the arm of the glasses. Now how could it have gone anywhere when the screw that kept it in the glasses was lying next to the main part of the glasses. It must have come have come apart on the bedside top. So where did it go? Freaky.

Clearly Borrowers in these homes, gathering up things as soon as they're set down.

Years ago I was at working talking to a colleague. He was a nice guy, but too young for me and not my type. In any event, he was leaving to move abroad the following month. I was divorced and 40 years old.

Whilst we were talking, I got what I can only describe as a vivid image in my mind. It was of myself and this colleague, we were married, with 2 children and living in a very hot place.

Fast forward 5 years and all of this came true. He stayed in England, a few months later we dated, then we got married and had 2 children when I was in my mid-forties. Then out of the blue he was offered a job in the middle east and we all moved there.

I know it's a coincidence, but it's really strange.

@VinylCafe my DD's socks are always getting stuck in the rubber bit at the front of the drum. There's often one of a pair missing and I usually find them there, sopping wet as they don't get spun.

It's ALWAYS baby socks. Nothing else!

Nothing moving by itself or anything like that but about 15 years ago I was tidying my room and suddenly there was a loud pop in one ear followed by the sound of people talking. It was the strangest feeling, almost like hearing a conversation and then the people realise and move away. It faded to nothing. The voices were in my head if you know what I mean, rather than it being like overhearing people in the next room or next door.

I was once on my own in my family home, family were all on holiday and only I had keys.
I was making jam. I came to put it in jars and couldn't find half the lids, so I left the lidless jars in the pantry and went to bed.
Got up in the morning and all the lidless jars now had lids screwed on tight and in every jar was a dead spider.

Dh and me regular finish each others sentences, and 'mind read' each other, could never get away with anything I shouldn't, because he would know and like wise with him.
It's sometimes spooky and unsettling in equal measures.

WHAT?!?

I came on to say I have a glitch in the matrix moment just about every day, but I don't mean like these. Mine are just things like seeing a particular person walk past on the street, then a minute later seeing them walk past again (and no, I don't mean in the other direction; it's honestly like it's just happening for the first time).

I was listening to music in the car through Spotify. Arrived at home and unplugged by phone from the car, so it reverted back to the radio. The exact song I was listening to on Spotify picked up at exactly the same point on the radio. I double checked I had definitely unplugged the phone. I had. So weird.

As a teenager there were several of us having a seance . Someone asked if there was a God. The wine glass shot off the table, shattered in mid air, and the pieces fell to the floor.

Still remember it to this day.

Had one a couple of weeks ago, was making myself a cup of tea then put the milk back in the fridge after using it. The doorbell rang so I answered it and when I came back to get my cup of tea the milk was beside my cup, thought it was weird but maybe I'd got distracted by the door and put it down instead of putting it away. Took it to the fridge, opened the door and there was the milk, i had 2 identical milks. We had definitely only bought one carton so I've no idea what happened.

I don’t know if this qualifies, but it was a pretty weird moment.

My godfather died about 30 years ago on his 53rd birthday. I missed seeing him by a matter of hours - I travelled up from London with a birthday card for him and reached the hospital only to be told he’d gone.

Just after Christmas, I decided to make yet another attempt to sort out the loft. Found an old bag with a card in it with my godfather’s name in my hand writing on it. It was the card I’d brought with me for him on that day I’d travelled up to see him.

It just felt particularly odd that I should find it on my own 53rd birthday.

The other day I was near my toddler dd and saw her throw something then felt drops of liquid land on my foot. Sounds reasonable except there was no liquid near her, I had shoes and socks on and my shoes were dry, with nothing in the area to account for the feeling. It was v strange..

Between the mattress and frame. That's where all my stuff goes Grin

Weve moved house quite a few times. Including internationally a few times. Every one of these moves has involved a certain. wardrobe. We bought it for our elder DD when she was born for baby clothes etc. Its being used for all sorts since then- toys, clothes, general storage etc. Emptied at every move.

We had our final move last year. As we were carrying it to the room we wanted it in, 3 pairs of baby socks and some mitts fell out...

Once the sky didn't look right for a few seconds. It was a mixture of sunshine and clouds, the white fluffy kind. The best way I can describe it is they looked blocky or low-resolution. Like streaming services sometimes do when you fire up a video, the first few seconds are streaming at lower quality, say 360p, before the HD video kicks in.

At the time I thought it looked a little cartoony, like a sky in an early Playstation game. A good approximation of the sky, you could tell what it was supposed to be, just stuck in standard definition rather than being 4k.

Anyway after a few seconds it flicked over to "normal" sky again, presumably a server was being fired up or something.
