To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

Not exactly a glitch and more a natural phenomenon but my husband and I were walking the dog on the beach coincidentally at the time of the last solar eclipse. There was only us and the dog on the beach and as the sky went a little dark the waves stopped moved entirely - i.e the sea came to a complete standstill on the shore and all the birds stopped making any noise. It took us a couple of seconds to work out what felt different. I assume this is a natural occurrence but it was incredibly eerie and strange, it was like the whole world paused and glitched for a few seconds and then kicked back in again when the sun was revealed.

I awoke a couple of nights ago only to see a headless figure dressed in rags and bound with rope standing right next to my bed. It was initially terrifying, before I realised I was experiencing sleep paralysis.

Only ever happened to me once before a long time ago, when an alien was sitting on my chest and trying to touch my face!

When my brother and I were young, we bent to a small petting farm type place. We bought a postcard while there.

We still have it. We are in the picture on it...

I don't know if this counts as a matrix kinda thing but I have vivid memories from age about 5 till I was 22.Then I have a whole year where I've attended an important wedding, went on a mini break and visited family and I have absolutely no recollection of doing these things. No memory problems since. So puzzling and frankly scary. At the time I was apparently normal. I realised it had happened looking back at family photos and seeing myself at my cousins wedding and having non recollection at all, and then exh saying come on you must remember coz we went away to visit auntie the next day. He shows me pics of them and no zilch! Terrifies me

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

There was a party that didn't happen and a Prime Minister didn't attend it, and then a bit later it turned out that the party had happened after all AND the Prime Minister had attended it but he hadn't realised that he had. Spooky.

We lost the remote control for the tv . Searched and searched for it. Had to give up and order a replacement. The delivery man knocked on the door. I went and got the parcel which had the new remote in it. Went back into the living room. Original remote control was on the floor in the middle of the room . I had just left thst room .It wasn't there when I left.I cannot explain it. Made the hairs stand up on the back of my neck

Yesterday when I got back from dropping DD off at nursery I saw my neighbour and his daughter getting into the car to head to school.

I had to go back and pick DD up about an hour later (unwell) as I got in my car neighbour and same daughter were getting in the car to go to school. They were at exactly the same point of door open, half in/out the car. It was spooky.

Growing up I was very fond of one of my uncles. Then one day he had changed. It was like in a soap when a character had been recast. It was never the same after that.

Friend thinks she has a spirit in her house. Stuff disappears and then reappears. She lost an earring so she put the one she had left on the dressing table in the hope the other one would turn up when she next hoovered. Next morning the earrings were a pair again. She thanked her husband profusely for finding it. He had no idea it was back ShockShock

AngelinaFibres · 12/01/2022 15:25

Read an article about this sort if thing once. There was a woman who had a poltergeist in her house. Stuff would disappear. She found that if she said in a loud voice "I really need my car keys back please" and then left the house, when she came back the thing would be on the kitchen table ....every time. Very odd.

I went to an event with my very first digital camera - this was back in the 90s, when they were quite a new thing. I took lots of photos in the morning, and then at around lunchtime I realised that I'd lost the camera. I was gutted - retraced my steps, asked at every stall I'd stopped at whether it had been handed in, but there was no trace of it. At the end of the day, I went back to my locked hotel room, quite some distance from the event, and the camera was sitting right in the middle of my bed, with all the photos from the morning on it.

Many years ago when the DC were babies, their tiny socks would go missing in the washing machine - usually one of a pair. We were moving house 7 years later and I was doing one last load of laundry. When I was taking the wet clothes out of the machine, there were the missing baby socks! At first I thought they had gotten stuck somewhere in the machine for 7 years, then I remembered we got rid of the old washer and bought a new one the year before.
OMG that's so freaky that they turned up in a new washer! Gave me goosebumps reading that. I was relieved they turned up (hello, are baby socks not the cutest thing ever!) then freaked out when you said you'd gotten a new washer. Baffles me how these things happen
GaspingGekko · 12/01/2022 15:34

@DameDoom My parents had a similar experience. This must have been back in the early 70s, they were walking home one evening out in the middle of nowhere when they started to see flashing lights flying back and forth and crazy unexplainable things in the sky.

It lasted for quite some time and they went directly to the local police station to report what they'd seen. The police response was - no you didn't see anything, and you won't talk about this to anyone else.

VinylCafe · 12/01/2022 15:37
@VinylCafe my DD's socks are always getting stuck in the rubber bit at the front of the drum. There's often one of a pair missing and I usually find them there, sopping wet as they don't get spun.

It's ALWAYS baby socks. Nothing else!
I thought that for a brief moment but then realized the socks reappeared in a different washer! We bought a new washer just a year before we moved.

I swear to god, this just gave me shivers 😱

Last year me and my husband were walking up a slope in the park.

We were talking but both looked at an older man in red running gear, skinny white legs and a blue hat laboriously staggering down the slope. A few moments later, before we got to the top of the slope, the same man appeared staggering laboriously down the slope. He could not have looped back up in time to do it as a trick. Exactly the same man. We stood looking for a looong time.

I was once on my own in my family home, family were all on holiday and only I had keys. I was making jam. I came to put it in jars and couldn't find half the lids, so I left the lidless jars in the pantry and went to bed. Got up in the morning and all the lidless jars now had lids screwed on tight and in every jar was a dead spider.
This shows a terrifying level of vindictiveness. Shock
WhatTahw · 12/01/2022 15:44

The year I turned 43, my mum tuned 73, I was born in 1973 and she was born in 1943.

Lavender24 · 12/01/2022 15:44

@VinylCafe I think you have a little house sprite that borrowed the socks and decided to return them when it realised you were leaving!

I was walking along a straight road around 1pm. Loads of Birds (I think swallows) singing like mad in the massive trees that line this particular road. There are only about 6 of these trees spread out about 10-15 feet apart or so and there were birds in every tree. They line the opposite side of the road that I was walking on so no worries about a bird pooping on my head or anything. The sun was shining very and the road was very quiet. No one else around but me. Found myself thinking how lovely walked past 2 trees birds still singing away happily get to the third and all of a sudden dead silence. They all stopped at the exact same time. Not a peep from any of the birds, look up and they haven’t flown off or anything. It was so eerily quiet at 1pm in the afternoon! As soon as I get to the fourth tree they start singing again!
Almost certainly a bird of prey circling, like a kestrel, eagle etc. The birds go quiet, then start up once it's gone.
Echobelly · 12/01/2022 15:50

In my first house I had a lovely lip gloss, I put it down on my dresser and never saw it again. Checked if it had fallen in the bin, no. Figured I might find it behind the furniture when I moved out but nope, not there.

Similar thing happened with a sports bra a few weeks ago. It was at one end of my bed and then completely vanished. That said I've bought a new one, so it'll probably turn up now! Grin

I lost a bracelet at work on my last day before going off for maternity leave in 2018. I searched the office and everywhere I'd been during the day. Nada. Over a year later, when I'd returned I was working in the office and a colleague walked in and...found my bracelet lying on the floor behind me. No idea where it had come from, it was just in the middle of the office.

Great idea! Tiny baby socks are so cute I think a house sprite couldn't possibly resist them!

I was widowed in my 20's and had a lot of very weird unexplainable things happen in the aftermath-

One of them was years later and I was packing my flat to move in with my now DH.
I had a lot of things that were from my house with my first DH and I kept them for sentimental reasons but some weren't really right to bring but I felt so guilty moving on and I was very stressed by the whole move.

I was sound asleep-it was 3:30am and I was woken by a huge crash. I went in to my living room and smashed on the floor was the large picture I really didn't want to bring.

Nothing else in the room was disturbed at all.
