To ask your "glitch in the matrix" moment?

Hello,

I had a glitch in the matrix last night whilst dying my hair, I took the nozzle off the bottle and put it on the sink and then I mixed the dye etc and when I went to get the nozzle it was gone, I moved everything off the sink, looked on the floor but it was gone so I managed without and then once the hair dye was on I found the nozzle on the sink on top of something I'd moved and I swear it wasn't there before! Not a major event but it was a bit weird.

Do you have any glitch in the matrix stories? (Basically unexplained events)

This is a brilliant thread and I’m now gutted I have no experiences to contribute! Whilst some of these could just be coincidences some are much much more strange. I believe we cannot know how everything works in this world, and that’s a good thing. So much potential.

@Mi888

I was in Liverpool with my ex and had just gone to meet my aunt and uncle. They had annoyed me. When I walked back through the streets to the car park, there was the weirdest eerie feeling I've ever experienced, as if there was no air, just tension. A homeless woman lunged at me, everyone was staring at us even though I wasn't doing anything weird, and there was a man walking a dog wearing a superman outfit and a top hat. It was the weirdest thing I've ever experienced, it was like entering a parallel universe.
Ohhh I've read about Timeslips in Liverpool. It's a well known phenomenon there apparently 🤷‍♀️
BlackSwan · 12/01/2022 16:20

The other day I was talking about a car we had years ago which kept cutting out, at the most irritating times - like while driving through a car wash. We reminisced about what a terrible time we had with it. I haven't thought about it in years... we sold it long ago.

Two days later I received a letter from the manufacturer, with red edges around the envelope... issuing an urgent recall for that vehicle.
Only took them a decade to work out there was some dodgy cabling causing it to lose power.
The matrix is SLOW, but it gets there in the end.

@AuntMasha

I awoke a couple of nights ago only to see a headless figure dressed in rags and bound with rope standing right next to my bed. It was initially terrifying, before I realised I was experiencing sleep paralysis.

Only ever happened to me once before a long time ago, when an alien was sitting on my chest and trying to touch my face!

I've had similar experiences twice but never knew it could be that!

Most recently was 2 weeks ago when I woke up to see Jesus and the disciples at a table having the last supper, just by the side of my bed. I can only describe it as the weirdest thing and I felt like a loon telling my OH. A previous one was the whole room filled with brightly coloured moving lights - like looking into a starry night but coloured and sped up.

BooksAndGin · 12/01/2022 16:22

Made a sandwich, placed it on the table and let the cat out first... sat down and there was no sandwich.. or evidence that I made said sandwich.
I do have neurological problems but surely I didn't dream I spent ten minutes making a sandwich and if I did wtf was I doing in that time? Grin
I definitely think we live in a matrix.

dotherighthing · 12/01/2022 16:24

I had a telephone clairvoyant session. The woman asked me why I was not going on holiday that year. I told her I was going to Italy, all booked and paid for in the next 6 weeks. She said you will not be going. I just laughed but 4 weeks later my husband had a heart attack and we had to cancel.

Does anyone remember the thread about a woman in a flat who lost her ironing board?

ihearttc · 12/01/2022 16:25

This is very outing if anyone I went to school with is on here…not exactly a glitch in the matrix but very very weird.

We went on a school trip to Stratford upon Avon whilst doing our A levels to see a play. We stayed in the Youth Hostel. The girls were in 1 room and the boys (including my boyfriend) were in 1 room. In the middle of the night I sneaked down to his dorm and spent the night there. The other girls locked the door behind me. Came back in the morning and in the middle of the floor was a large piece of card (which my friend had used the night before to sort out her contact lessons on) with a very detailed picture of all the girls sleeping in the dorm. I was also on the picture despite me not being in the room. We were the only people in the YH, nobody came into the room as it was still locked and non of the girls could possibly draw like that. Absolutely no clue how it got there or who could have done it.

I had a very vivid nightmare after watching Saw 2, really horrible. Towards the end of it, I was trying to escape, and I climbed up out of a manhole in the road, a few roads down from my house, only to be hit by a car. My last second was seeing this car come flying towards my face. It was so vivid and clear, I could remember the registration plate when I woke.

A few days later, I was walking home, got to the same spot I'd been hit in my dream. Was just starting to the cross the road when I realised that the car parked to my right was the same damn car, same exact reg, I froze for a second or two, in shock, which was when a completely different car jumped the lights from the other side and came flying past. If I hadn't have stopped, it would have hit me.

I do @HollowTalk- bonkers!! Can't remember if she ever found it?
grooveonthemove · 12/01/2022 16:31

This isn't a glitch but spooky. My friend was walking along a coastal footpath two weeks ago and felt something brush against her leg, hard enough to make her leg buckle. She thought it was a dog or a child on a bike and looked around to give someone a lecture about being more careful but there was no one around, literally not a person in sight. I asked her to describe the spot it happened: it was EXACTLY where a young man was brutally murdered two years ago. I half jokingly said his spirit has been trapped there and to be careful it hadn't latched onto her and followed her home. She mentioned feeling a 'dark presence' in her bedroom - someone standing at the end of her bed, shortly after the incident by the beach but before I told her about the murder, she's now freaking out Shock

PussGirl · 12/01/2022 16:33

Once I accidentally knocked a mushroom off the chopping board and onto the floor, whereupon it completely disappeared. I'm saying the floor but I didn't actually see it land.

There was nowhere it could have hidden - no gaps, no space under the fridge, no open drawer, not in my apron pocket - vanished!

SpiderinaWingMirror · 12/01/2022 16:34

When I was 5 I was in hospital having surgery. Whilst I was in, my parents took my brother and sister to look at our new house. I dreamt about it and even though I didn't go, had never been and not seen any pictures or visited the town I was adamant I had. I described it in detail, including the lay out of the estate to my gob smacked parents.

HollowTalk · 12/01/2022 16:35

@mumsiedarlingrevolta She hadn't found it by the end of the thread. That was really bizarre!

NannyOggsWhiskyStash · 12/01/2022 16:36

@Gilda152

Not exactly a glitch and more a natural phenomenon but my husband and I were walking the dog on the beach coincidentally at the time of the last solar eclipse. There was only us and the dog on the beach and as the sky went a little dark the waves stopped moved entirely - i.e the sea came to a complete standstill on the shore and all the birds stopped making any noise. It took us a couple of seconds to work out what felt different. I assume this is a natural occurrence but it was incredibly eerie and strange, it was like the whole world paused and glitched for a few seconds and then kicked back in again when the sun was revealed.
This is so creepy, did the sea not move at all?

Yes, I don't think it ever turned up.

Does anybody remember Birdie Friend, the pandemic predicting badge?

TedImgoingmad · 12/01/2022 16:38

About 11 years ago. Staying in a holiday flat in Gran Canaria. By way of background, I was pregnant, still had PND from my first child. There was lots of weird weather the locals described as "hurricanes" and very near to our building was a helipad for sea rescue helicopters, which would come and go intermittently.

One day, I felt a tightening on my ring finger where I wear my wedding ring. I looked down and my wedding ring had completely warped into an oval shape and was now pinching my finger. I wan't touching it with my other hand, rubbing it, it wasn't warm. It's a substantial, hard, gold ring, perfectly round, yet it had, in an instant warped into a different shape. I have no explanation, other than perhaps something atmospheric/electrical/vibrational was able to warp it. Or perhaps it was the power of my emotional turmoil, if you believe in that sort of thing! I am no Yuri Gellar, that's for sure!

When we returned to the UK, I took it to a jeweller, who could not understand how it could have happened without applying considerable external pressure with pliers or something similar. Very, very odd indeed.

I also will suddenly be thinking of some really obscure actor, film or song, and hours or just minutes later, the song will come on the radio, or an advert/listing will come up for the film or the actor. I guess it is just coincidence, but it always gives me a start, as it will always be an obscure/ non mainstream thing I am thinking of.

Fans of this thread might enjoy the Uncanny podcast on BBC Sounds. I am not a believer in woo stuff, but it is very entertaining if you enjoy a good spooky story, which I do! Some of the stories on the thread could be submitted to this programme, the host is asking listeners to recount their own strange experiences.

Uncanny

My mother is the one person in our family who has experienced what you might call the paranormal.

Many stories to tell but one was when she was first married, my dad’s older siblings rented an isolated house down in Sussex for weekend breaks, which was built near a weir and was very, very damp. She and my dad used to stay there sometimes. My mum had a newborn baby (my brother).

One night my mum was woken up by the sound of small children laughing and giggling. She says it was a if they were daring each other to do something naughty or forbidden - the tone of the voices was whispered and hushed. But then she heard another, grown up voice which sounded like an adult saying ‘no, no, no, no, no!’ as if chiding the children. These noises continued for some time and realising that there were no children in the house and therefore the voices couldn’t possibly be ‘real’, she knew there and then that she was hearing some kind of ‘recording’ from the past.

The next day, having spoken about her experience to my Aunt and Uncle who told her, ‘you must have heard the ghost’ — lovally, the house had a reputation for being haunted.

lastnightthemooncame · 12/01/2022 16:45

I was listening to a radio 4 programme, (well two of us actually which makes it feel even stranger). A David Mitchell panel show, and I was very tuned in & aware, not at all daydreaming etc.

I was listening in the kitchen & left the room, & as I came back in the programme repeated the section I heard. Literally repeated. Time stood still, felt incredibly strange. I went down the rabbit hole a bit, spent quite a lot of time searching for a solution, researching if there had been a broadcasting issue by Goggling Radio 4 outages/issues for weeks. Couldn't find any proof of a broadcasting problem.

Since then, I've got back into reading Robert Sheldrake. If you don't know of him, he did the research on experiences of knowing someone is watching you, (when you're facing away from them) and dogs who know when their owners are returning home, even if it's always different time of the day. I don't believe in woo, but maybe keeping a slightly open mind on quantum entanglement.

Also this guy!! Wonderful Carl Sagan explaining beautifully the mystery of space - time & how interacting with other dimensions, may work. It's such good thought experiment fun.

@TwoLeftSocksWithHoles

There was a party that didn't happen and a Prime Minister didn't attend it, and then a bit later it turned out that the party had happened after all AND the Prime Minister had attended it but he hadn't realised that he had. Spooky.
And it keeps happening! GrinGrinGrin

We were renovating the front of our house, it had previously been a shop for nearly 100 years. My husband found an old button as he was passing it to me he dropped it, and it just disappeared. We looked everywhere for it but never found it!

gluenotsoup · 12/01/2022 16:49

When I was struggling to conceive me and my mum kept hearing the 1970’s song Sing Baby Sing randomly. It was the song my parents had as my song as a baby. I found out I was pregnant within a couple of weeks. I’ve not heard the song since. I had complications in the pregnancy and lots of bleeding. Every time I went for a scan we heard Alive and Kicking😂. I had a girl
