Stuff you think must happen to other people - but can't risk asking?

IMissFrance · 03/02/2021 11:21

Anyone else have stuff happen to you that must happen to others.

But you can't really ask because what if they say "NO! How weird!" And then you can never talk to that person again. Wink

So I'm bringing it to the anonymity of Mumsnet.

I'd love to hear other peoples. And will start off.

  • whenever I wash my hair in the shower (I have long hair) loose hairs wash down my back and end up in my bum crack. End of my shower I have to check there's no hair left.

I can't be alone in this grossness! (Or can I)

Nobody else has mentioned this unusual bodily symptom and I'm curious to know if it happens to other women...
Sometimes when I'm sexually aroused and my vagina has produced lots of lubrication, my arse also produces lubrication, this is noticeable the following day when it exits during a bowel movement.
Anyone else? Or just me.

Alternista · 03/02/2021 23:54

YesPleaseMary- yes, I do!

Boeufsurletoit · 03/02/2021 23:56

Does anyone wake in the night with the sensation of something surging through your limbs, especially legs and feet? Maybe adrenaline, but it feels like something literally shooting through my veins, and ends in a sensation rather like pins and needles. Often after a bad dream but not exclusively. I've stopped asking people because everyone so far has said no Blush

TheLuckiest · 03/02/2021 23:57

@justasking111

I hate heights. If something comes on the tv and shows someone walking to the edge of a balcony, cliff edge, etc. my whole nether regions clench up which is horribly uncomfortable. I close my eyes and ask OH to tell me when that part of a scene is over.
Oh. My. God. I had no idea there were more of us...I hate heights too and the clenching fanny feeling is really quite unpleasant.

I call it 'my nervous Fanny' as in DH asking me,'Shall we climb up there?'
'No fucking way. It makes my fanny nervous.'

I also relate to long bumcrack hairs, sweaty stinky belly button discharge, tonsil stones and...

Ahem. I too occasionally have to help out poo and was getting worried as I thought I might have a prolapse up there. Turns out I'm not alone. Thank Christ for that.

I have just aged disgustingly. 🤣🤣🤣

Boeufsurletoit · 03/02/2021 23:59

Yes to fizzy neck as well.

TheLuckiest · 04/02/2021 00:01

Also, does anyone just close up post-orgasm? I usually go for a wee or occasionally a poo and have to give it a few minutes as everything has just clenched shut & have to wait for it to relax again...

Riddikulussness · 04/02/2021 00:02

@Dollywilde

I didn’t poo in labour. However, DH thought I had... and then realised that it was just my massively engorged labia Shock Blush everything has gone back to a normal size and colour now I assure you!

I should probably NC after this post Blush

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Omg Yes!!! It’s a really horrible, unpleasant feeling. Always in the middle of bad dreams when I’ve had it
zen1 · 04/02/2021 00:06

If I get upset and feel like I’m about to cry, I get goosebumps and shooting pains down my arms all the way to my fingertips.

Catra · 04/02/2021 00:08

I'm playing detective now about the fizzy neck thing - someone has even managed to record the sound it makes. Mine sounds exactly the same:

Cattenberg · 04/02/2021 00:12

kaleidoscope orgasms

I get these occasionally. I have synaesthesia, so I assumed that was the reason. I’d love to know if the posters who “see” orgasms have other forms of synaesthesia, e.g. visualising letters as having different colours or tasting music.

On the subject of embarrassing memories, when one pops into my head, I have the urge to say or shout something random, shocking, or both, to block it out.

Craftgirlx · 04/02/2021 00:12

My best friend is a midwife and assures me this happens ALL the time! She says they usually manage to quickly get rid of it before you even notice!

Cattenberg · 04/02/2021 00:15

Also, occasionally my whole body twitches involuntarily, as though I’ve just been startled.

Catra · 04/02/2021 00:20

Yes, I have synaesthesia - mostly seeing letters and numbers as colours. In the build-up to a really intense orgasm I see vivid colours and patterns when my eyes are closed and the texture of my tongue changes.

Fortheloveofcake85 · 04/02/2021 00:22

@Sporranrummager.. absolutely yes yes and more yes in my sleep..and I don't mind admitting it feels amazing .not that it happens often..I'm also grateful for that as at times i wake in a panic my DC may have heard something odd 🤷

Wouldcouldcantwont · 04/02/2021 00:23

Does anyone else get an ache in their finger when they really need a poo? The tip of the fourth finger on my right hand hurts if it gets to emergency level need!

TaraR2020 · 04/02/2021 00:24

To the person who posted about 'globby' discharge, do you mean like egg white? I think its common for a lot of women and to do with when you ovulate.

The leg jerks when falling asleep are also common, its to do with your muscles entering sleep paralysis as you fall asleep.

I can only sneeze into double figures Blush hilarious, but annoying in meetings when I'm trying to be professional!

GingerFigs · 04/02/2021 00:25

Does anyone do pelvic floor exercises? Other than immediately after having kids? Am I doomed for not doing them??

I sometimes have a weird and slightly scary sleep thing, where I'm between sleep and awake. It's like my eyes are open but my body is paralysed. I can't move or speak, and sometimes I'm not breathing and feel like I'm going to die and it takes a huge effort to draw a breath and snap out of it.

Wouldcouldcantwont · 04/02/2021 00:28

Yes to period poos & fizzy neck, plus when I used a bidet and warm water flushes on my nethers the soles of my feet felt hot too!

Catra · 04/02/2021 00:31

@TheGoodEnoughWife

Am loving this thread!

I get the bum hair and also sometimes quite a long hair (like maybe a pet hair or from a jumper type hair? Not a head/body hair) gets stuck up my nose and it is very satisfying to pull it out!

Mine is ... does anyone else 'see' their orgasms? I see mine but they can be really random things. Like a colour or a number or a building or the other day it was a very square box! What's the deal with that?!

(Has that little concern now that no one will have the same...)

You are not alone. A by no means exhaustive list of things I've seen during my orgasms: sleek black motorcycles, purple velvet, glow worms in an enchanted forest at night, a woman in a yellow dress turning into a butterfly and Yosemite National Park!

It's almost certainly down to my synaesthesia.

tinylittleyou · 04/02/2021 00:33

Is anyone else too scared to use a hairdryer when home alone because you can’t hear anything?

SquarePeggyLeggy · 04/02/2021 00:34

@ILoveAnOwl

Sometimes I remember an event from the past and I physically inhale with the shame of it. Nothing bad, just mortifying things where I was a knob. They bring me physical pain.
This is me. Or I say no, no, no out loud.

Sometimes, when getting frisky, if my husband squeezes both bum cheeks at once, it makes air get sucked up into my vagina. It’s awful!

Whichname98 · 04/02/2021 00:37

@tinylittleyou yes! I have anxiety and hate loud noises, even hate flushing the loo as it's loud and makes me jump. If I'm alone I definitely want to be able to hear what's going on.

tinylittleyou · 04/02/2021 00:39

Also social awkwardness- when someone is in the way of what you want at the supermarket so you just pretend you’re looking for something else, when you ask about the price of something but it’s way too expensive but you make a thing out of still looking interested and considering

Luckyelephant1 · 04/02/2021 00:39

@tinylittleyou

Is anyone else too scared to use a hairdryer when home alone because you can’t hear anything?
Yessss or I'll turn it on for a few seconds and have to turn it off again as I feel like I've heard a scream or a loud knock or footsteps etc (totally imagined) and scare the shit out of myself.

The remembering a mortifying event from the past thing... I can't stop myself physically flinching when I think of certain things I did or said and sometimes I get boiling hot from embarrassment or shame. Things I did 10 or more years ago still make me sweat!
