My husband received something very strange in the post ...

In the post today, my husband received a letter. It was hand written with his name and address on the outside. No return info. The writing in the envelope is definitely a woman's

Inside is a copy of an "essay" I googled it and it's by Robert Louise Stevenson. It called "on Marriage"

The gist of it is that marriage has lots of ups and downs and requires communication

There is nothing else. No name, just a folded print out of this essay.

Any explanation, other than my fear? I have no reason other than this to suspect anything.

I'm shaking. This feels so surreal. I hope I'm overreacting. He's currently at work.

Ps. We open each other's post. We think nothing of it - usually. It's always junk or bills

I wouldn't query it until you got home. It would give him time to prepare / delete evidence (if any). Just act as if you think it's just a little odd and from a JW. You may get a logical explanation. If he seems guilty or shifty, then start snooping about. Is he shifty with his phone? Does he have a passcode on it? (usually ok as need security with banking and if stolen etc) My other half does and is very shifty with his phone. Never has his screen in my direction when on his phone.

This reminds me of the thread where a lady found a blue pill under her and her husbands bed, panicked that it was viagra and it turned out to be a Smint

I don't think there's ever been a thread this bad for people not RTFT.

If someone was sleeping with your husband, why would they send him an essay on what sounds like ways to improve your marriage?

I mean, I’m sure there are some people who are very unobservant, and can’t (clearly quite a few on this thread), but otherwise, it’s usually obvious.

I am mildly anxious about the virus, not particularly for myself but not my parter 79 this October I'm 77 next and because I have a range of health problems. my husband does everything, shopping, cooking, cleaning etc. We have 2 adult sons with their own families,so we have 5 grandchildren who we both adore. We are waiting our vaccinations.
