We just have a chopping board from Ikea with a ridge around the edges to catch any spills. We put a saved GU pot on it for tea bags and just chuck the teaspoon on the board.

OP - are you my twin ? No-one else I know knows what I am on about or uses these, I've had a little teapot shaped bowl thingy for my spoons for years and mostly my mother used them for the actual teabags (and made a right mess!) and chucks the spoon in the bottom of the sink!
