My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

You have to go out and ask what is that all about. Don't let them know it's your car. Suggest you've seen it parked over whole weekends.

honeysucklejasmine · 15/06/2018 16:23

OP where are you? I can't believe it hasn't occured to them to knock!

Ginosaji · 15/06/2018 16:24

If you have a dh/dp and they ate going to be arriving home by car, call them now and tell them to park round the corner and walk to the house, then when cf 1 & 2 see him he can pretend he dont drive as they wont have seen him in a car 😁

mavismcruet · 15/06/2018 16:24

That’s hilarious they put the note through your door, the driveway owner! It’s like they think they have a right to park on your driveway. CFers!!

pudcat · 15/06/2018 16:24

Make sure your hair is wet when they send for the police to tow your car

ProudThrilledHappy · 15/06/2018 16:24

Has anyone mentioned penguin bollards yet? Grin

harriethoyle · 15/06/2018 16:24

HAHAHAHA @sneakygremlins !!

MadMags · 15/06/2018 16:24

Thanks for posting the note!

OP, I really think don’t do anything! They haven’t knocked and when they do, I’d ignore them! I really truly would.

Helloisitteaurlookingfor · 15/06/2018 16:24

if they want the car moved asap you'd think they'd knock

You'd think.

MadisonAvenue · 15/06/2018 16:25

Though thinking about it, they're probably equally pissed off with the parking situation and are watching gleefully Grin

Aprilshouldhavebeenmyname · 15/06/2018 16:25

Have you got a local fb page? Wondering if she may have put message up!!

stayathomegardener · 15/06/2018 16:25

Sorry slow WiFi!

BewareOfDragons · 15/06/2018 16:25

CALL THE SCHOOL OR WALK DOWN THERE NOW with the note and tell the school staff about their outrageous, entitled behaviour.

HoneyBadgerApparently · 15/06/2018 16:25

Please get your DP to drive home demand to know why they are on the drive Grin

mummmy2017 · 15/06/2018 16:26

Red car . Orange car . Pink car...
Orange has no room to move and is hemmed in ... illegal parking as over a drive...
Then there is a 2nd car trapped on the drive by the orange one..
You as pink car are doing NOTHING wrong.
So funny.

Spanglyprincess1 · 15/06/2018 16:26

Who wouldn't just knock and apologise? The cheek!! For doing it in first place then doing this - I call police as it's a private drive

lisasimpsonssaxophone · 15/06/2018 16:26

Ooooooh this makes me so angry! I can't believe they didn't even knock on your door to ask you in person, just put a rude note through it!

Are the owners of both cars there, do you reckon, or just the one parked across the dropped kerb?

honeylulu · 15/06/2018 16:27

I suspect that the driveway parker does not want to be called out for doing so hence no knocking. They are both waiting for pink car owner to move, hoping it's someone other than the driveway owner.

HoneyBadgerApparently · 15/06/2018 16:27

Spangly it's not illegal to park on someone's drive ridiculously.

SneakyGremlins · 15/06/2018 16:28
FatBarry · 15/06/2018 16:28

So I reckon green and yellow car owners know each other and do this regularly, first one goes on the drive and second one blocks in, each walk home together so the blocking in isn't an issue.

Only today they fucked up didn't they?

Tartyflette · 15/06/2018 16:28

Second what FatBarry says.....

Helloisitteaurlookingfor · 15/06/2018 16:28

Spangly believe it or not you can legally park on other people's drives and they can't do anything about it. Trust me, I've had it happen to me!

Foxsox · 15/06/2018 16:29

I agree fatbarry
