My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

I love this thread! You need to ask your neighbour not to move for them either!

Spanglyprincess1 · 15/06/2018 16:29

Honey Badger - seriously. Even though it's privately owned land?? That's mental.
Mind you law probably assumes no one would be that insane. Blocking the drive that isn't yours is illegal.

honeylulu · 15/06/2018 16:29

Honeybadger is that because its a civil offence (trespass) rather than a criminal one?

SoupDragon · 15/06/2018 16:30

Stick a similar note on their windscreens

KalindaBlack · 15/06/2018 16:30

OP, what's occurring?

keyboardkate · 15/06/2018 16:30

Sorry,

Who owns the red car to the left of the pic? If that is a school mum or dad, surely if they move off so can everyone else?

I am sure I am missing some very important facts here though!

Frenchiemamax · 15/06/2018 16:30

Are they still there OP??

upsideup · 15/06/2018 16:30

Why arent they asking red car to move to? Surely red car is blocking them in just as much as pink car

MouseBatMummy · 15/06/2018 16:30

Absolutely loving this. I agree with what others have said - don't answer the door and let the silly women call the police. Idiots.

MadMags · 15/06/2018 16:31

Is there any way to ensure that Redcar doesn't move?

SoupDragon · 15/06/2018 16:31

Whose is the other cR block8ng the orange one in?

Nanasueathome · 15/06/2018 16:31

Op stated earlier, the red car belongs to another neighbour
They never move it

Tartyflette · 15/06/2018 16:31

OP said red car belongs to neighbours, who are seldom in.

ohtheholidays · 15/06/2018 16:31

I cannot believe the nerve of some people,I hope you've had a bloody good go at them OP!

CF's!

lisasimpsonssaxophone · 15/06/2018 16:31

Red Car is OP's neighbour who isn't currently home. I guess that since Pink Car has only just appeared while they've been gone, they're assuming its owner must be nearby.

mrkaykay · 15/06/2018 16:31

Brilliant

Redgreencoverplant · 15/06/2018 16:31

This is amazing! I love that OP has managed to block them whilst still parking perfectly legitimately Grin

KalindaBlack · 15/06/2018 16:31

Red car is other neighbour I think.

JellyBean571 · 15/06/2018 16:32

Red car belongs to the neighbour and OP said they’re never in (so presumably won’t be moving any time soon!)

ManchesterGin · 15/06/2018 16:32

This is amazing. Well done OP.

Smilingthru · 15/06/2018 16:32

What’s happened??!!

SoupDragon · 15/06/2018 16:32

Fabulous. I’d skim read and missed that Red Car was a neighbours one.

SweetCityStench · 15/06/2018 16:32

I love that you've blocked them in. That note, rude CFers!

ICantCopeAnymore · 15/06/2018 16:32

Best parking thread yet.

Helloisitteaurlookingfor · 15/06/2018 16:32

honeylulu , yep, civil offence. I used to have a real problem with people parking on my private land and nothing I could/can do about it (other than penguin bollards! Ha!).
