My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

Amazing

knowledgeofnone · 15/06/2018 20:47

I've never been so happy to read a thread in all my puff! AMAZING!!!

Elliss2018 · 15/06/2018 20:48

This thread is amazing 😂😂 cheeky bastards!

takeittakeit · 15/06/2018 20:48

OP - best thread ever
NDN - best neighbour ever - time for a bonding drinking session
DP - well done for growing a pair!

Surely time to ask Police to attend at 1000, as you are concerned for your safety, mum with baby and aggressive issue with parking and intimidation last night. You were unable to drive as you had both had a drink last night to calm your tempers!!!!

Thank you best entertainment this week

chocolateworshipper · 15/06/2018 20:48

Take photos of them and post them all over the school FB page.

How do you nominate a thread for classics?

mommybear1 · 15/06/2018 20:48

OP 👏🏻👏🏻 OP's DH 👍🏻 brilliant

SteamTrainsRealAleandOpenFires · 15/06/2018 20:48

It might be worth getting written apologies & promises out of the CFs before you move your car.

EdWinchester · 15/06/2018 20:49

Fantastic! Well done. Calm and superior. Perfect.

FatBarry · 15/06/2018 20:51

What did I say, what did I say? Smiles smugly.....I said the CF would be back with partners or burleys.

Well done you, id not move at 10 though I'd move at 1, that'll learn 'em. In fact I wouldn't actually move until dimwit mum 1 and dimwit mum 2 knocked on the door and apologied for their CFuckery behaviour.

Eggzandbacon · 15/06/2018 20:51

Amazeballs - this so made my evening, reading it whilst hiding from stupid football

sexnotgender · 15/06/2018 20:51

Why are people so bloody stupid! You don't go in all guns blazing when you're the one that's screwed up.

Bit of decency, a grovelling apology and I'm sure you'd have moved for them.

As it stands you're my hero!

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 15/06/2018 20:52

You, your dh and ndn all deserve a standing ovation.👏👏👏

I salute you!

MadMags · 15/06/2018 20:52

Fucking fabulous!!!

AnnUnderTheFryingPan · 15/06/2018 20:53

Moussemoose · 15/06/2018 20:54

I don't want to lower the tone of this excellent thread but can I just check you are having sex with your DH this evening....

Because if your not the way he spoke to the CFs has made me a bit......

MissCharleyP · 15/06/2018 20:54

I almost burned my tea (I’m northern) reading this, absolute genius! Need a few of you in my street!

GoldenButtercup · 15/06/2018 20:54

Nice one.

WeeDangerousSpike · 15/06/2018 20:55

Oh, well done OP and OP's DH! Grin

Downeyhouse · 15/06/2018 20:57

Just a quick question.

Did your OH say “10 tomorrow” or 10:00 am tomorrow”??

If they do not apologise I would be tempted to say “oh no we did not mean 10.00 in the morning we meant 10 at night”!

toolonglurking · 15/06/2018 20:57

Well bloody done!

spiderlight · 15/06/2018 20:57

Bravo!! This needs to go in Classics.

Bluetrews25 · 15/06/2018 20:59

So at 0800, you need to go out and remove your pink car, but get a neighbour to put a car of theirs in exactly the same place! So they are still blocked, but you have upheld your promise to move by 1000. They don't get out UNTIL THEY APOLOGISE!

DesertIslandPenguin · 15/06/2018 20:59

Amazing update and well done for standing firm. I would, however, be checking my car very thoroughly before moving it in case they've keyed the offside or something!!

gabsdot · 15/06/2018 21:00

Tomorrow when you move the car just move it a little bit so that it's possible but very difficult to get the car out.

juneybean · 15/06/2018 21:00

This is fantastic. Way to go OP

Also pretty sure my charges' school was mentioned further up Blush
