My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

I would be standing ready at 10am tomorrow with my keys in my hand requesting an apology before moving. And until the apology is forthcoming the cars stay put. Stand your ground OP.

MiniCooperLover · 15/06/2018 20:34

Impressive work from both OP and her DH!

Nquartz · 15/06/2018 20:34

Best outcome of a parking thread EVER.

Well done for such quick thinking Mr Sharron

Enjoy your victory & your Wine

Mayra1367 · 15/06/2018 20:34

Not much the school can do apart from asking for some consideration when parking. But inform the school
anyway , with pictures, and ask for them to put it in their weekly newsletter as an example of inconsiderate parking . Embarrass them.

MiniCooperLover · 15/06/2018 20:34

I am curious though, did they genuinely just leave without issue?

CatkinToadflax · 15/06/2018 20:34

MASSIVE APPLAUSE OP!

And definitely give their reg numbers etc to the school. Outrageous CFery!!

SharronNeedles · 15/06/2018 20:35

We are going out tomorrow so will definitely be moving.

May be 10am.....may be midday....who knows! It's hard to get out on time with a toddler

BEST. THREAD. EVER.

Mayra1367 · 15/06/2018 20:37

Maybe you could organise for another car to take your place before you leave 🙄

WeAllHaveWings · 15/06/2018 20:37

Get up nice and early and go out in your car for the day. Now where is a good place for your dh to park his car while you are out...………..

PlatypusPie · 15/06/2018 20:37

If I went home to my husband and moaned that I had been blocked whilst parking in a private driveway he would would not have gone over to said house and asked what the owner said were going to do about it. He would have wondered why I had behaved like that and would maybe have driven me over so that I could apologise and request the release of my car. What rude CFs these people are.

Well played OP, DH and neighbour.

Wonkydonkey44 · 15/06/2018 20:38

Well done! Can’t believe the twatery of some people!

Betsy86 · 15/06/2018 20:38

hmcAsWas · 15/06/2018 20:40

Whilst I think you have played this brilliantly (I hate entitled behaviour and would never park on / block someones drive - who does that?), I do think you are in danger of losing the moral upper hand if - having said that you will move at 10 am - you don't do so

Sugarskulllover · 15/06/2018 20:41

Best CF parking thread ever!!!! GrinGrin

MrsMozart · 15/06/2018 20:41

Bloody hell. They take Cheeky Fuckery to a whole new level.

Just thought... Can you ask a friend or neighbour yo park behind you, leaving enough space for you to manoeuvre out, just in case they try a double block Confused

NoFucksImAQueen · 15/06/2018 20:41

I'm surprised they didn't ask if they could move your car whole suggesting your dh/neighbour etc.
cheeky buggers

Lweji · 15/06/2018 20:42

It's hard to get out on time with a toddler

Ask them to help.

DevaDiva · 15/06/2018 20:42

Good work OP and your DH too. Bloody love a parking thread and hope one day to have one of my own that is half as good as this!

KitKat1985 · 15/06/2018 20:45

God, that was worth waiting for.

Amazing update OP.

Please, please, please give us an update tomorrow.

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 15/06/2018 20:46

Woweee!

Well done you and DH!! Brilliant response!

I really can’t get over the sense of entitlement they have.

Please make them utter the word “sorry” before you actually move. Please. Don’t let me down on this one.

ItsClemFandangoCanYouHearMe · 15/06/2018 20:46

Brilliant. Well done OP 👏 👏👏
