My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

I think you need to paint your fence tomorrow. Buy some creosote and splash it all over as you 😜paint your fence😜

mavismcruet · 15/06/2018 17:16

OP is your car really pink? I’ve always secretly fancied a pink car Grin

Sparklesocks · 15/06/2018 17:17

Bravo OP this is a fantastic thread - you’re doing this for every driver screwed over by a CF Parker!

PuppyMonkey · 15/06/2018 17:17

OMG yes please put it on Spotted Facebook page for your town, that would make my life if you live near me (unlikely).

CatsCatsCats11 · 15/06/2018 17:17

OP you are my parking hero

toolonglurking · 15/06/2018 17:18

Brilliant stuff OP, makes me almost sad I live rurally and don't get to do this stuff!

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 15/06/2018 17:18

Placemarking to see if they return!

ZibbidooZibbidooZibbidoo · 15/06/2018 17:18

Or, if OP is in Northern Ireland (has OP said where she is?), it’s still legal to get cars on private land clamped.

Shock is it?? That would be extremely useful. The PSNI say you can’t do anything with a car on your drive.

SharronNeedles · 15/06/2018 17:19

Mavis nah I wish! It's rather boring and black

I wonder if they will have the balls to come back later tonight

MrsMaryMooFace · 15/06/2018 17:24

Don't ever tell them that it doesn't impact you if they park on your drive - it's YOUR driveway! CFers would take that as an open invitation.

CrazyHippo · 15/06/2018 17:26

Put a bill on their windscreen with a tariff for the weekend... youre not allowed to go out in your car this weekend btw.. nor is the neighbour 😂😂

SneakyGremlins · 15/06/2018 17:27

You are leaving your car there, yes? Grin

BrewDoggy · 15/06/2018 17:27

If I were you I'd turn the car to face the other way but still block them in and leave it for the weekend Wink

SoupDragon · 15/06/2018 17:28

Could you jetwash your driveway...?

LakieLady · 15/06/2018 17:28

This thread has really cheered me up after a shitty week. Flowers for OP and her fabulous neighbour.

Bellends · 15/06/2018 17:29

Nowhere near me then, op! Otherwise I'd have quite happily offered my chauffeuring services for two weeks to you so you could leave your car where it is!

TSSDNCOP · 15/06/2018 17:29

Your neighbour can’t half think on her feet. Fair play to you both. I can’t see your DH being impressed either.

mummmy2017 · 15/06/2018 17:30

So long as you don't damage a car you can move it.
