My first parking thread!

So, I'm off work on annual leave with DS. Just been out for the day and just got home to find that it's school run time. We live near a first school so obviously the streets are lined with cars. Someone has parked on my drive and someone else is blocking them in!
Now I imagine that as no one is ever here during the day, these people have been doing this for some time (we've only lived here 3 months and the house was emtpy for a year before that). I've squeezed in beside the car blocking the drive so they won't be able to get our (remember the scene from Friends with Ross's sports car?) and therefore the car on my drive can't escape either.
AIBU to just sit here with a cuppa and watch this all play out while pretending not to be in?

Do you have a local 'parked like a knob' Facebook page too, you could post them in there as well Grin

bastardkitty · 15/06/2018 17:05

Love you and your neighbour, OP. Sometimes the best thing to do is ....absolutely nothing Grin

MilkyMamma · 15/06/2018 17:05

Shameless follow, amazing!!

SharronNeedles · 15/06/2018 17:05

I reckon I could get them all to help! Theyll be able to see what the CFs have done and I'm sure they've all received their notes.
I live at the bottom of quite a long street too! I think we're some of the only ones on here who aren't retired so I'm sure the other neighboura get annoyed at pick up time anyways and would be happy to help!

2 weeks you say. Can you manage without a car for 2 weeks. Please...

Eryri2018 · 15/06/2018 17:06

Can you and your neighbour manage without your cars for the weekend? I think Monday morning is a reasonable time to "release" their cars!!

notapizzaeater · 15/06/2018 17:06

Well done your neighbour 😻😻

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 15/06/2018 17:07

This is as good as the thread where a CF parked in the middle of 2 side by side allocated bays.
Nice Neighbour and NDN friend squeezed their cars in on either side of CF, (one reversed in) so that CF couldn't open either driver or passenger doors.
Then left their cars there for several days!

GetInMaBelleh · 15/06/2018 17:07

Best thread for a long time 😂

Oldbutstillgotit · 15/06/2018 17:08

Link to Miss Jolly thread please ?

EggysMom · 15/06/2018 17:08

But at some point you'll have to move your car. So you need to start thinking what to do then - ideally you don't want them to park on or blocking your drive in future.

So it might be time to consider printing appropriate notes for each car to advise them of the situation, before you actually move yours.

LapdanceShoeshine · 15/06/2018 17:09

Miss Jolly thread turned really nasty IRL & was deleted iirc Sad

CallingDannyBoy · 15/06/2018 17:10

Thank you for this I’ve had a bit of a shit week and a good parking thread is just what I need along withWine Wine

TokenBritPoshOfCourse · 15/06/2018 17:11

I seriously don’t get why they haven’t knocked on your door.

dog grooming CF part 1

DesignStatement · 15/06/2018 17:13

Fantastic 🍾🍾🍾. Don't move your car - they'll never forget the pantomime they are starring in. Can't believe people think it's ok to dump motors on other people drives and block their driveways. Seriously- what planet are they on.

EveningHare · 15/06/2018 17:13

Yes, I think we need a go fund me to buy SharronNeedles a new car

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 15/06/2018 17:14

Is it even possible/legal to get a car towed off your land? Who would you call for this?
Pretty sure it is possible for private land. Any tow truck company, car owners would have to pay tow company to release their vehicles. Or, if OP is in Northern Ireland (has OP said where she is?), it’s still legal to get cars on private land clamped.

dog grooming CF part 3

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 15/06/2018 17:15

I would put a terse note on both CF cars, requesting payment for parking privileges before cars can be released

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 15/06/2018 17:15

Someone’s suggestion to post pictures on the school/local Facebook is good, and don’t forget to add a link to this thread. The CFs will probably take the bus in future........

SneakyGremlins · 15/06/2018 17:15

Get some neighbours to help then Grin

MrMeSeeks · 15/06/2018 17:15

Get them towed
