So it arrived damaged. Never mind, I thought, it's what's inside that counts...

This thread's hilarious!! Xmas Grin

thegrinchreaper · 03/12/2017 10:26

I hate to break it to you but colour couture is their own make up brand, it's a colour couture calendar.
God knows what that funnel's all about though!

LizTaylorsFabulousTurban · 03/12/2017 10:32

I lost it at "the size of a hamster's eye".

Microkitty · 03/12/2017 10:33

I didn't get a advent this year, glad I didn't now!!

Fintons · 03/12/2017 11:05

😂🤣

Wow, £25 for this shit!!?

I was initially disappointed with my advent calendars (2 for £10, scented tea lights but it turns out only 5 different scents total) but given how cheap they were and how glad I am that I don't have a funnel I'm feeling pretty happy now!!

InfiniteSheldon · 03/12/2017 11:10

Shamelessly placemarking whilst swishing my shiny hair and pouting in a fetching shade of cherry

Opheliasgoldenwine · 03/12/2017 11:53

That brand should rival MAC.

Cheeseandcucumber · 03/12/2017 12:23

Xmas Grin it's the gift that keeps on giving, isn't it?!

kwick you have 3 calendars Xmas Shock and not so much as a funnel between them? That's so sad. I can't remember a life without my funnel, don't understand how anyone copes funnel-free.

The mascara reminded me of the sort that would come with those doll heads - you know the sort for hairdressing/makeovers? Now the glitter has arrived I'm sure the calendar's audience is 5 year olds to gift to their dolls.

Door 4 is the same shape as the funnel and glitter door, maybe it's some glue/polish to actually stick the shit on after it's been carefully funnelled. It's all coming together! This time next month I'll be snazzy as hell.

It's making Zoella's calendar look good. Shock

Funnel thing has really opened my eyes. We have a funnel in a kitchen drawer. We use it for decanting olive oil we buy in bit containers in Spain and Greece into smaller, useable bottles.

Never did it occur to me that I might use it to pour glitter over wet nailvarnish.

i have learned something, thanks to HoF and your intrepid and sharing nature, Cheese.

I thank you.

BlueEyedWonder · 03/12/2017 13:10

Best thread I’ve read in ages.
I’m opening the M&S calendar here Day by day. Told the husband I anticipate he’ll be waking up next to a woman who looks 25 on Xmas day. He told me he anticipates I’ll be furious if he does 🤣

Moogletea · 03/12/2017 13:45

Super jealous of the funnel. So jealous that when I came across this 35p bargain in the corner shop this morning I had to purchase. Now off to ponder beauty uses for it 😀

This thread is great (sorry!).

badbadhusky · 03/12/2017 15:17

I thought I had no interest at all in advent calendars until I idly opened this thread. Now I'm gripped to see what's in day 3.

I came back too even though I have zero skin in this game, just a lame Lindt advent calendar (mini Lindor, what’s that all about?).

I will admit to stocking up on my usual Bourjois foundation and powder in Superdrug to get the free gift (full size mascara, red lippy and matchingnail polish) and then again in the nearby Boots to get the other free gift (full size highlighter, nudey pink lippy and polish, mascara). I have no idea what the highlighter is for - comes in a bottle like foundation. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

badbadhusky · 03/12/2017 15:18

PS I don’t even wear red lipstick or nail polish. I am a sucker.

Aridane · 03/12/2017 15:23

Placemarking

Apileofballyhoo · 03/12/2017 15:25

Grin badbad

badbadhusky · 03/12/2017 15:35

I started my own thread in S&B for the beauty bewildered as it was bad manners to crash this one.

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 03/12/2017 15:39

I wonder if the last door will be a small instruction manual for all the crap useful items?

This confirms my cynical view that beauty advent calendars are a waste of money and you might like 2 products out of the 24. [grinch]

Have you tried blowing down the funnel? It may emit a Christmassy tune.

I've shared my limited knowledge on your other thread Bad Smile

iwouldgoouttonight · 03/12/2017 15:52

Just asked DD what she would use glitter and a funnel for and she said fill the funnel with glitter, blow in one end and 'kapow!' (her word) a glitter explosion! I'm sure they do similar at the start of Strictly.

TSSDNCOP · 03/12/2017 16:07

I’ve added small funnel to my Christmas list.

Deathraystare · 03/12/2017 16:30

I can see this will lead to a serious mini funnel shortage in the UK!

Not got one so feeling a little bit of envy right now. Have no advent calendar either so not likely to get one. Boo hoo!

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 03/12/2017 16:35

I like the idea of putting glitter in the funnel and blowing*.

Christmas is the perfect time to shower that person at work you don't really like with sparkly stuff. Xmas Smile

*do not inhale, may cause major glittery coughing fit.

I was going to get an adventure calendar but have now decided this thread will act as mine. Each day a new surprise. I can't wait for tomorrow's treat Grin
